No Sense of Direction

Chapter Twenty Three

Almost two months have passed, hockey season was over, the New Jersey Devils had won the cup, but the Hurricanes had come so close, the whole game was a close one, with the final score being four to three.

By this time, most of the Penguins had gone home, Sidney had left for home last week, but Zach was home for the summer, and the three siblings were finally back together. I spent most of my time in the stables, I actually got Zach to ride Lola the other day, and he said it wasn't that bad. I haven't seen Milan in almost two months, but I talked to him on the phone almost every day, even though I didn't want to marry him, I still did miss him. This whole situation is ten kinds of crazy.

Today was my birthday and I was going to give myself a present by getting another horse, I've been online looking at some for about a week now, and I had some people scheduled to come today at different times, to show their horses off. They were my favorite animals and since I was going to be sticking around here a while, I might as well. But when I walked downstairs this morning, I was surprised to be hearing barking, I was confused by this because we didn't have dogs.

I walked into the living room to see that Milan was standing there holding a German Shepherd puppy in his arms and Zach was holding one as well. The cute little buggers had red ribbons around their necks, and I couldn't help but melt to them.

"Happy Birthday, Kat," Zach said as he walked over and handed the puppy to me, "They're from Chris and I."

I laughed as Milan handed me the other puppy, "Not one, but two," I smiled and Zach kissed my head.

"I know you've wanted one for a while," Zach said and has he placed his elbow on my shoulder, "So we got you two."

"Thanks," I laughed and then kissed his cheek.

I looked over towards Milan to see he was smiling towards me, I placed the puppies on the ground and then walked over towards him and her wrapped his arms around my neck.

"I've missed you," he said and then pressed his lips against mine.

"I've missed you too," I said and he kissed my head.

"I have to go wake Chris up," Zach said and I looked at my brother.

"He's not up yet?"

"No, his Coach wanted to have a late practice yesterday," Zach said and I nodded my head. Chris' college hockey team didn't do too well last season, he was having summer camp start early this year, "So his morning practice today was pushed back."

"Oh, when does his practice end?" I asked as I turned around in Milan's arms.

"Two, he'll be back for when we go out," Zach said and I looked at him.

"We're going out?" I asked and he turned around and cursed, "Zach?"

"I gotta wake Chris up," Zach said and started to wake away.

"Zach!" I yelled and wanted to follow him, but Milan pulled me back and started to kiss my neck.

"Happy Birthday," he breathed into my ear and I turned around and placed my hand on his neck.

"Thank you."

"I got you something," he said and I looked at him and saw him pull a small box out of his back pocket.

"You didn't have to," I said and then reached up and kissed his cheek.

"Open it."

I opened the box and smiled when I saw the two big diamond earring studs, "Thank you," I said and then pressed my lips against his, "They're beautiful," I said as I took them out of the box and put them in my ears.

-Milan-

"I can't believe that they got me two puppies," Kat said as we carried the puppies up to her room and watched as they played with each other on the bed.

"What are you going to name them?" I asked as I pulled on the toy that the puppies were fighting over.

"I don't know yet," Kat said and I smiled towards her and then picked up the puppies and placed them over in their crate that Zach had gotten them, "What are you doing?"

I turned around and placed my hands on her hips and smiled towards her, "I haven't seen you in two months, I've missed you a lot."

"I've missed you too," she breathed as I kissed her neck and went to that spot by the crook of her neck that made her legs go limp.

Kat's fingers matted themselves into my hair and I felt her push herself closer to me, I leaned down and grabbed her thighs and picked her up. I got a turn on when she moaned my name when I nipped at her neck. Walking forward, we fell onto the bed and I climbed off of her and smirked when she sat up and leaned against her elbows. I got lucky and she was still in her pajamas, but I was in my clothes. I took my shirt off and saw that she slid herself up and felt her lips on my chest, sending soft and pleasurable kisses up my chest, and feeling her fingers pull on my belt.

"Easy there, tiger," I muttered as she grew frustrated with the belt clasp and felt her just want to rip it apart.

"Off," was all she said and I smirked and pressed my lips against hers as I undid my belt and then felt her throw my pants down.

-Katrina-

I didn't understand myself. I said that I loved him, but I didn't want to marry him, but once he kisses me, it's like he has me under his control. I felt so weak when I was around him, every time I felt his touch, I didn't know if I love him, or the sex. I think I was getting to be just as bad as him, maybe this relationship was purely a physical one.

I laid next to Milan on my stomach, my head on his arm and my fingers laced with his. Milan was laying on his side and I felt his chest against my body and his other arm on my back. I knew he was asleep, I turned my head towards him and smiled, he looked so peaceful when he slept. I turned my head back to my hand and I started at the rock that laid perfectly on my finger, looking at it only made me wonder if I deserved to have it.

"Hey," I head and turned back to Milan to see he was just waking up, "You looked comfy."

"I am," I said and Milan smirked and then leaned over and pressed his lips against mine.

Milan pulled away and moved his hand to my cheek, "I love you, Kat."

"I love you too," I said as I forced a smile and then turned my body so I could rest my hands on his chest.

He grabbed my left hand and brought it to his lips, "You'll be Mrs. Lucic soon," he smiled brightly and my heart kind of sunk.

I didn't know how to tell him that I didn't want to marry him. The most I could do now was just fake it, and let him be happy, or I could just settle down and just marry him. I pressed my lips against his and wrapped my arms around his neck, he moved onto his back and pulled me on top of him.

'...Guess we're going another round...' I thought as he reached up and placed his hands on my waist and groaned just by his touch, '...There's no faking this...'

-Zach-

"You're gunna be late for practice," I said as I saw Chris walk into the kitchen.

"Cancelled, Coach's mom died," he said and I nodded my head, "Kat see the dogs yet?"

"Yeah, she's upstairs with them and Lucic," I said, growled the last part and seeing Chris look at me confused.

"Lucic's here?"

"Showed up for her birthday."

"That explains all the noises coming from her room," he said and I looked at him.

"No."

"Yup," he said and then walked to the fridge, "Kat's getting laid."

"Ugh, come on man, that's our sister!" I groaned and he smirked.

"Just saying man, Kat is engaged, to Milan Lucic-"

"Yeah don't remind me," I said and then heard the doorbell ring. I walked over towards the door and saw my Uncle Dan with his wife and son.

"Where's the birthday girl?" he asked and I smirked.

"She's still sleeping," Chris said and I looked at him and he shrugged his shoulders.

"It's almost noon, wake her up, we want to see her," Uncle Dan said and we nodded our heads.

"I'll go get her," Aunt Mary said and my eyes widened.

"No, I'll go get her," Chris said and then turned around and started to head up the stairs.

'...Smooth one, man...' I thought as I moved out of the way and let my family into the house.
