No Sense of Direction 027:

Chapter Twenty Seven

-Sidney-

“What does she mean by physical?” Dustin Jeffrey asked as the team sat around the locker room going over the email that Kat had sent out saying that she was going to be performing a physical tomorrow.

“She’s gunna look over our bodies to make sure that they’re in peak condition for the season,” I explained and some of the guys looked at me uncomfortable.

“That means we have to get naked in front of her,” Pascal said and I sighed and nodded my head.

“Well I’m all right with it,” Kris said and then smirked.

“Of course you are,” I muttered and looked at the team.

“Sid, I don’t know-“

“It’s gunna feel weird I know, but what are we gunna do? She’s our new trainer,” I said and the team nodded their heads, “Besides, she worked for the Bruins, so she probably had to give them a physical as well.”

“And the Capitals,” Geno said and I looked at him.

“Yeah, them too,” I mumbled and he smirked knowing that I didn’t like a certain Captain on that team.

“So tomorrow’s gunna be interesting,” Chris Kunitz said and I nodded my head.

“Don’t go getting’ a hard on, Geno,” Kris teased and then patted Geno’s shoulders.

“Shut up,” he growled and then shook him off.

“This is gunna be awkward,” Matt Niskanen stated and I sighed.

“It’ll be fine,” I said and Marc looks at me and smirks.

“Bet you’re excited to strip down in front of her,” he busted and I rolled my eyes, and the team laughed.

“That’s right! I should be telling you to not get a hard on!” Kris yelled and I sighed.

“Pathetic,” I mumbled as I walked out of the room and headed out of the arena and towards my car. I was heading home, but during my drive, I couldn’t help but wonder what Kat was up to.

-Katrina-

I stood in the locker room staring at the scared hockey players. I found it amusing that they were terrified to get a physical done by me. I took a deep breath and looked down at the clip board in my hand that had the first person I was going to examine.

“I can trust you boys when I tell you that I’m going to make this as painless and as less awkward as I can,” I said and then smiled when some of them chuckled, “Now this is only step one of the physical, today I’m going to check out your external features, old cuts and bruising, hearing, eye sight, stuff like that,” I explained and the guys nodded their heads, “Step two, you guys have to do one your own. I want a full body x-ray and an MRI, that way I can talk to you personally and tell you if you’re good or not,” I said and they nodded their heads, “Until I see those X-rays and MRI files, none of you are cleared for contact, understand?”

“Yes,” they said and I smirked.

“Good,” I said and then looked at the clipboard, “Vokoun, you’re gunna be lucky number one.”

“Ok,” he said and then stood up and the two of us walked across the hall and into the trainer’s office.

“Ok, so I know that some of you guys are nervous about showing your junk off, and honestly, I can just take your work that, that part of your body is fine,” I said and then laughed a little and he nodded his head, “So you can put these on,” I grabbed some hospital shorts that patients would wear if something was wrong with their leg.

“Not like you haven’t seen it before,” he said and I smiled and nodded my head remembering that I had to give him his physical when he was on the Capitals.

“But first we’re gunna go through your hearing, eye sight, reflexes, blood pressure, heart, old injuries, you get the picture, right?” I asked and he nodded his head, “All right, let’s get started.”

-Sidney-

The team and I were waiting in the locker room for Vokoun to come back and tell us what had happened. There was an awkward silence and I kept looking at my watch because he was in there for a while.

“He’s been in there a while,” Tyler Kennedy said and I nodded my head.

“I wonder if he embarrassed himself,” Deryk Engelland said and I scoffed and shook my head.

“It’s a possibility, I mean, Kat is pretty freakin’ hot,” Brandon Sutter said and I sighed and shook my head.

The door opened and we looked to see that Tomas had walked back in and we all stood up, “You’re up, Marc,” he said and Marc nodded his head.

“How was it?” Marc asked and Tomas sighed.

“Just get it over with, and just think about your grandmother,” Tomas said and Marc sighed and walked out of the room heading over towards Kat’s office.

“How was it?”

“Man, it wasn’t bad at all, Kat gave you these shorts so you didn’t have to flash her,” he explained and we all seemed to sigh in relief, “I knew it wasn’t gunna be bad.”

“Well why the hell didn’t you tell us? And how did you even know?!” Chris Kunitz argued and I put my hand on his shoulder.

“I was once a Capital, remember? I was their goaltender when Kat started her internship,” he explained and we all seemed to understand then, “But back then, Kat didn’t have shorts for us.

I sighed and then sat on the bench and watched as time ticked by.

-Katrina-

“All right, Sid, you’re the last one,” I said as he walked through my office door and nodded his head, “The other’s go home?”

“Yeah,” he said and then hopped up onto the table.

“I guess the guys have told you what I’m gunna do?”

“Yeah, they gave me the low down,” he smirked and I nodded my head, “So any of them embarrass themselves?”

“No, but I’ve had it happen before,” I said as I took Sidney’s blood pressure.

“Oh, there’s a story I need to hear,” he laughed and I smiled towards him.

“Couple people,” I said as I wrote down his blood pressure onto the fine, “Your buddy, Ovechkin was the first one.”

“Get out?!” he asked shocked and I laughed and nodded my head.

“You’d think that I walked into the office wearing one of those sexy Halloween nurse costumes, the thing just like popped up,” I laughed and Sidney smirked and shook his head.

“There’s bait for the ice,” he said and I looked at him and shook my head.

“Don’t, I’m not even supposed to be telling you this,” I said and Sidney sighed and nodded his head.

“Who else?”

“Well, when I was the temp for the Flyers, your buddy Max,” I laughed and Sidney cracked up.

“Come on, I gotta at least bust Max, he is actually a good friend of ours,” Sidney said and I smiled, “An asshole, but good friend.”

“Yeah, I remember the asshole part,” I muttered and Sidney scoffed.

“Who else?”

“And then last one was Milan,” I said and then Sidney’s smirk fell from his face and he sighed.

“Do you even love him?” Sidney asked and I looked at him shocked, “I mean, I know he proposed to you and all, but, come on Kat, he’s more of an asshole than Max!”

“Sid, it’s none of your business,” I said and glared at him, “This is my relationship, not yours.”

“So is that a ‘no’?”

“Crosby, you’re pushing it, may I remind you that I’m the one who clears you to go onto the ice,” I stated and he shut right up, his lines pushed together to form a straight line, “I’m sorry, but he’s- Milan’s a touchy subject.”

“No, I’m sorry,” he said and I nodded my head.

Once I had finished Sidney’s hearing, sight, blood pressure, and all of that good stuff, it was time for him to change into the shorts and for me to look over old injuries. When he walked out from behind the Japanese folding wall, I laughed when he rolled his eyes seeing how short the shorts were.

“I feel like I’m wearing booty shorts,” he whined and I cracked up. He sat on the stool and I walked around him looking at him.

‘…He might now be as big as Milan, but he’s damn gorgeous…’ I thought as I placed my hands on his shoulders and moving them up to his head, feeling him shiver slightly as my skin made contact with his, “How’s your body feel after your concussion?”

“Better,” he said and I moved in front of him and move his head around to see how smoothly it moved.

“Good,” I said and then looked at the saw a small scar right underneath his scar, “What happened here? It’s not in your file.”

“Oh, that was an old injury as a kid,” he said and I nodded my head and traced my finger over it.

That magnet was back and I felt myself being pulled in closer to Sidney. I dropped the file on the table and Sidney placed his hand on my waist and then stood up, my hands were his rock solid chest and his one hand was on my neck. I could feel his breath on his face, and I closed my eyes and concentrated on now groaning to his nearness.

I felt something poking me and looked down, only to look back up and smirk towards him, “Lucky number four, Mr. Crosby. You might have a hard time busting Max now,” I stated and Sidney looked down and then blushed.

“I’m sorry-“

“Your secret’s safe with me,” I said and then winked towards him and back away from him.

I grabbed his file and walked out of the office, to let him fix his little situation, and heading down the hallway towards Uncle Dan’s office to tell him that so far, all of his boys are good so far.
