No Sense of Direction 032:

Chapter Thirty Two

"I told you that you were going to wish that you chose the cops," I muttered to Sam who laid on the floor moaning and groaning in pain.

"Let the little pussy go," Zach growled as he placed a rag over his knuckles.

"I think you went a little far though, man," Kris said as he looked at the kid.

"No one messes with my family," Zach said while looking at Kris, "No one steals from us."

"I think I'm going to take Sam home," Dana said as she stood next to Zach, "I think you did enough, Zach."

I turned around, after looking over Sam and seeing that Zach went easy on him, to see that Dana had her hand on Zach's shoulder and she was leaning on him.

"You're going soft, Zach," I teased and Zach scoffed.

"That's soft?" Sidney asked and I looked back at him to see that he was staring me.

"He's alive," Zach muttered and I sighed and shook my head.

"Get him out of here," I growled and then stood up and walked out of the stall, "He's bothering the horses."

-Sidney-

I watched as Kat walked down towards the other side of the stable and my eyes couldn't leave her. I felt someone slap my arm and looked to see that Zach was looking at me. He was a lot bigger than me, so I gulped and looked towards the ground.

"Help me out here, Crosby," Zach said and I nodded my head and then we grabbed the kid's arms and picked him up, "Dana, go get your truck."

"All right," she said and then ran out of the stable.

Zach and I walked the kid to the truck and then threw him into the passenger seat. I was about to walk away, but Zach put his hand on my shoulder and then closed the passenger door.

"I wanna talk to you," he said and I looked at him and felt a little intimidated.

"Sure," I muttered and he leaned against the truck.

"Do you like my sister?" he asked and I looked at him, trying to hide my shock that he knew, "Be honest."

"Yes," I muttered and then heard him sigh.

"Good," he said and I couldn't help but show my shock.

"What?"

"I'd rather see my sister with you than that damn Lucic," Zach growled and I looked at the ground, "He uses my sister, and she's too scared to leave him."

"He hurts her?"

"I don't think physically, but he's mentally got to her," Zach said and I nodded my head.

"She defends him, but can't answer me when I ask if she really loved him."

"She's afraid of him," he said and I sighed.

"I've tried to get close to her, to make her see that-"

"Keep trying," Zach said and I nodded my head, "Don't care what you do, get my sister away from Lucic."

-Katrina-

I placed all of the horses, except for Nightwing in the field, I've been trying to train him to get use to the saddle, and I figured now was a good time to try it again.

"How many times have you tried?" Dana asked while sitting on the fence.

"Twice," I answered and then saw that the guys were walking over.

"Guess that's my signal to get Sam and get lost," Dana said as she hopped off of the fence, "See ya tomorrow, Kat."

"Bye Dana!" I yelled.

"See ya, Zach," Dana said and then patted his chest.

"Later, Dana," Zach muttered and I watched as Zach watched as Dana walked away and I smirked and then turned back to Nightwing, "So Kat! I'm here four hours and I already finished what I came down to do, what now?"

"You can help with the horses," I threw out there and he laughed.

"That's your department, not mine," he smirked and then climbed to the top of the fence and sat down.

"So helpful," I muttered and heard him laugh.

"So when your next game boys?"

"Tomorrow night, against the Flyers," Kris said and I heard Zach laugh.

"I have to go to that game, always entertaining," Zach said and I scoffed.

"I'm probably gunna be busy tomorrow," I said and then heard the yells yell 'hey'.

"We're gunna win the game!"

"I never doubted that you wouldn't!" I said and pulled Nightwing over to me and then turned to the guys, feeling Nightwing place his head on my shoulder, "I just said I'm going to be busy. You're most likely going to be getting in fights, and I have to play doctor and patch you back up."

"I'm ok with you playing doctor with me," Kris said and then fell off of the fence when Zach pushed him.

"My sister," he grumbled and I laughed when Kris muttered and 'ow', "How's he doin', Kat?" Zach muttered while nudging his head towards Nightwing.

"Good, I think one more time and he's good to be ridden," I said as I opened the fence and then walked out of the pin. I walked Nightwing into the stables and then hooked the rope to his harness, "Let me get this off of you and then you can go with your buddies."

I took the saddle off of him and placed it into the empty stall and then took the riding harness off. I brushed him down and then unhooked him and walked him over towards the field gate.

"How long are they usually out there?" I heard and then turned around and saw Sidney.

"Depends on the weather, it's nice out, so probably for a few hours, until it starts to get dark," I said and then let Nightwing go and he ran into the field.

“It’s amazing how dedicated you are to them,” Sidney said and I turned around and pushed myself up to the top part of the fence.

“I love them, I’ve always been in love with horses,” I said as I felt someone nibbling my shirt and turning my head to see Balto there. I laughed and ran my hand up his face, “There’s by best boy!”

Sidney laughed and then walked in front of my and placed his hand under Balto’s face. I felt him bite my shirt and then pull my back, I muttered ‘let go’ and pulled my shirt back. Sidney was standing in front of me and laughing. I looked to see Balto bobbing his head up and down and I sighed and shook my head.

“Crazy horse,” I muttered with a smirk on my face and playfully pushed Sidney because he was still laughing at me.

My eyes widened when I felt Balto ram his head into my back and I flew forward and since Sidney was in front of me, yeah, he luckily softened my fall. I looked down to see that I was lying on top of him and my head hit his chest.

“Are you all right?!” I heard and then looked up to see that Zach and the rest of the guys were running over.

“Peachy!” I muttered and then looked down towards Sidney to see that he was wincing, “Oh, sorry!” I said and quickly got off of him because apparently my knee hit him hard where the sun doesn’t shine, “I’m so sorry!”

“Yup,” Sidney groaned and then turned to his side.

“Bad Balto!” I said and then pointed my finger towards the horse who was still bobbing his head up and down, almost laughing at what he had done.

“Nice going, Kat, I think you stopped Crosby from having children,” Zach laughed and I bent down next to Sidney and placed my hand on his shoulder.

“Are you all right?”

“Geez Kat, what the hell do you think? You just killed his ball sack! Of course he’s not all right!”

“Zach! Come on,” I muttered while shaking my head and looking down at Sidney.

“I’m all right,” he muttered as he moved onto his stomach and pushed himself up.

“Walk it off Crosby.”

“Shut up, Zach,” I snapped and then looked to see that Sidney was bent of trying to breathe and I bit my lip trying not to laugh, but when the guys started to laugh, I couldn’t help myself.
