Chapter Fifty Two

-Katrina-

“So this is new,” Kris said as he jumped in the seat next to me on the plane.

“What is?”

“Two Spellings on the plane,” he said and I smirked and shook my head, “So am I going to be able to play?”

“I don’t know about tonight, but maybe Friday night,” I said and he sighed and nodded his head, “Kris, you’re out on injury, Sid’s out, Neal’s out and Martin’s out, we have three new teammates, and apparently a fourth one on the way,” I shifted in my seat and placed my hand on his arm, “You need to take it easy, don’t rush to get back in.”

“But I need to be back out there, mon cher.”

“I know you do, but just take it easy,” I smiled and then patted his arm, “We’ll be landing soon, why don’t you go and wake everyone up.”

“All right,” he said and then stood up and walked towards some of his sleeping teammates, one being my brother.

Chris and Beau didn’t get to the house until midnight because they were heading in the wrong direction and had to turn around. It was hard waking them up this morning, but once they were on the plane, they were both fast asleep. I felt bad because Sidney, Paul and James weren’t coming on this trip because of their injuries.

When we finally arrived in Raleigh, we went to the hotel and I texted Zach saying that we were here and that I would see him tonight at the game. I took a little nap before it was time for us to head to the arena. As I walked through the doors, I was happily surprised to see Zach standing there with a smile on his face.

"There's my favorite sister!"

"Shut up," I muttered as I walked over toward him and hugged him.

"Hey Zach," I heard Chris say.

Zach pulled away from me and I turned around to see that Chris was smirking towards his brother.

“What’s going on?” Zach asked.

“I got brought up,” he smiled and I wrapped my arm around Zach’s back.

“That’s great man!” Zach said as he walked over towards Chris and hugged him, “I’m proud of you! But I’m not going easy on you just because you’re my baby brother!”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way!” Chris said and I smiled at my brothers.

-Zach-

“Nice try little brother,” I smirked as I saw my brother’s unamused facial expression.

The Hurricanes had just won against the Penguins, but I was proud of my brother because he played his heart out. We won in a shoot out and after the game I skated over towards my brother and patted his helmet, telling him that he had done well.

After my team had showered and changed we headed out and planned to head to the bar to celebrate. As I was walking down the hallway with Jordan, I heard him call my sister’s name and turned my head to see that she was walking down the hallway.

“Hey!” I smiled and then saw Jordan walk over towards her, pick her up and twirl her around. I rolled my eyes and shoved Jordan’s shoulder, “Get off my sister!”

“What are you up to, Kat?” Jordan asked.

“Just waiting for the guys to come out of the locker room, I was happy that no one was hurt today.”

“Oh yeah, how are the guys doing?” I asked and she nodded her head.

“They’re doing good, Kris is here and he’ll probably be able to play on Friday,” she said and I nodded my head.

“And Sid?”

“Eh, it’s gunna be a while for him, maybe Martin too.” Kat said and I nodded my head.

“Your team definitely needs those guys back,” Jordan said and Kat sighed.

“I think we’ll be fine, or at least I hope,” she said and then turned around to see that Kris was walking down the hallway, “I have to go, I’ll talk to you later!”

“Dinner?” I asked and she shook her head.

“I’m have a Skype date with Sid,” she smiled and I scoffed and shook my head, “We’ll be back on Sunday, and then we have off on Tuesday!”

“That’s like a whole week away!” I whined and she smiled, walked over towards me and kissed my cheek.

“I’ll see you in four days,” she said and then started to walk away, heading over towards Kris who was leaning against the wall, waiting for her.

“But I don’t want to wait four days,” I muttered and Jordan laughed and patted my shoulder.

“You’ll be fine,” Jordan said and we turned around and headed out of the arena.

-Katrina-

“So I”ll be coming down tomorrow,” Sidney said and I smiled brightly.

“Really?!”

“Yeah, I got cleared to come out.”

“How are you feeling?” I asked staring in the camera and lying on my bed.

“A little sore,” he said and I sighed, “I miss you.”

“I miss you too,” I said then grabbed one of my pillows and threw it under my arms.

“Where are the guys?”

“I would imagine in their rooms, we didn’t win today, so you know how they are,” I said and he nodded his head.

“I watched the game on TV, your brothers played well,” Sidney said and I smiled.

“I know right! I’m so proud of Chris!” I laughed and Sidney smiled.

“Maybe Ray and Mario will keep him up,” Sidney said and I nodded my head.

“So, what have the doctors done so far?” I asked and he explained to me everything that I’ve done, “So you have your top teeth redone?”

“Yeah, but I’m not worried about the teeth, I just wanna heal and be back on the ice.”

“You need to take it easy, you can’t eat solid foods, only shakes, so you’re going to be losing weight,” I said and he sighed and nodded his head, “Sid, you have plenty of time, we just got three new players, Beau and Chris were brought up, and we’re getting a forth when we come back.”

“We don’t need all of these players, we’ll be fine,” he said and I sighed and nodded my head.

“What time’s your plane land?” I asked trying to change the subject and he smirked, seeing what I was doing.

“I’ll be there about an hour after you guys, I’ll take a cab to the hotel,” he said and I nodded my head. There was a knock on my door, “Someone there?”

“Yeah, hold on,” I said as I stood up from the bed and walked over towards my door and saw that some of the guys were standing there, my brother being one of them, “Hey.”

“Hey,” they said and then walked passed me and into the room.

“Please, let yourselves in,” I laughed as Geno, Kris, Marc, Beau and my brother walked into the room.

“We’re bored,” Beau said as he walked over towards my bed and laid on it, “Hey! Sid! What’s up, man?!”

“Sid?” Geno and Marc asked and then walked over towards the laptop and looked at it.

“Yeah, we were having a Skype date,” I laughed and then watched as everyone crowded around my laptop.

“How’s it going guys?” I heard Sidney ask and I climbed onto the bed and leaned against Geno and Chris.

“All right, we lost,” Marc said and I sighed and patted his shoulder.

“You guys played well tonight, I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Sidney said and then told the guys that he was cleared to come down and watch the game against Tampa Bay.

“Can’t wait to see you man! Good to know that you’re all right,” Kris said and I laid my head on Geno’s shoulder.

“We happy to see you talking too,” Geno said and I smiled.

I sighed and then climbed off of the bed and walked over towards the balcony door and walked outside, staring at the view. I heard someone behind me and turned to see my brother, “I’m proud of you, Chris, you played your heart out.”

“Thanks,” he said and then wrapped his arm around my shoulder, “You all right?”

“Yeah,” I said as I laid my head on his shoulder, “Why?”

“You seem a little off,” he said and I shook my head.

“I’m fine, I just wish that everyone was here, it feels a little off without Neal, Martin and Sid.”

“It’ll be fine, they’re tough guys,” Chris said and I nodded my head and then wrapped my arms around my brother.

“You really did play great tonight.”
