Cold As Ice

“I’m exhausted!” Fiona groaned to herself as she fell onto her bed, they had a long car ride back to Toronto and her ass hurt from sitting for so long. She wanted to change into sweatpants and a t-shirt and sleep the rest of the day.
She rolled off her bed and walked over to her dresser; she pulled out fresh clothes and quickly changed into them before crawling back into bed. She wrapped the covers around herself and closed her eyes as she tried to fall asleep.
“Fiona!” Ariel screeched from outside her bedroom door, which she had locked for this specific reason, she wanted to be able to rest without interruptions.
“What?” She groaned, she shoved her pillow over her face wanting to block out Ariel.
“Jeff’s here.” She shouted, Fiona’s eyes shot open, she got up from her bed slowly as she walked towards her door.
She opened it and looked at Ariel hoping she’d be laughing because she fell for her joke, but her face was as serious as her own. She looked past Ariel and over to Jeff who had his back turned to her while he spoke with Kayla, Fiona panicked and shut the door making sure to lock it too.
“Fiona!” Ariel groaned, Fiona backed away from the door, she was terrified to face Jeff and she didn’t think she’d be able to without breaking down.
“What’s going on?” Jeff asked as he heard Fiona’s door slam shut, he looked over at Ariel who was trying to get it open.
“Fiona locked herself in her room.” Ariel sighed as she gave up on trying to get the door to open, she made her way over to the couch and kicked her feet up, she was done trying.
Jeff walked over to the door and knocked on it, “Fiona open up.” He pleaded, he waited for her to say something, anything but he had no luck. He knocked again; he knocked until his knuckles could no longer bare it.
“You’d think he’d take a hint by now.” Kayla muttered to Ariel who were both sat on the couch watching Jeff fail miserably at trying to get Fiona to open up.
Jordan walked into their apartment slamming the door shut behind her, she stopped walking when she saw Jeff, she looked from him and over to the girls on the couch and raised an eyebrow at them. She had been filled in on what Fiona had told them during their trip to the city, the fact that the two of them would even let him in their apartment surprised her.
“Hey Jeff, what are you doing here?” She asked trying to be as casual and calm as possible.
“He came to try and win back Fiona’s love,” Kayla spoke for him, “What are you doing here?” She asked Jordan.
“Jake’s being an asshole and I needed to get away from him before I strangled him.” She explained as she joined them on the couch.
“What did he do this time?” Ariel rolled her eyes, after only knowing Jake for two weeks this was not the first time Jake had severely pissed Jordan off.
“We were having such a good time and then Morgan showed up and he completely changed, he barely talked to me and when he did he was an asshole so I left.” She explained.
“That’s his whole game. He makes you think he’s a good guy so you fall for him and then he breaks your heart. I know guys like him.” Jeff explained.
“You’re just like him!” Fiona shouted still hiding away in her room.
“I am not!” Jeff shouted back.
The three girls sat silently on the couch as they listened to Fiona and Jeff yell back and forth at each other. Fiona swung her bedroom door open and grabbed Jeff shoving him into her room and closed the door again.
“Well,” Jordan spoke breaking the silence; she clapped her hands together as she got up from her seat, “Let’s go watch a movie. It’s been a while and we need a girls night.” She suggested.
“I’m in.” Kayla got up from her seat and stood by Jordan as they waited for Ariel to agree.
“Fine.” She groaned giving in; she got up and grabbed her things as they walked out of the apartment leaving Jeff and Fiona on their own.

They stopped by Jordan’s place inviting Vi, Kenzie and Sam to join them, Violet and Kenzie agreed to come but Sam decided to stay and finally talk to Jon. Ariel sat in her seat as she watched the screen in front of her; she looked over at Kayla sitting beside her and at her phone that she wouldn’t put down, she looked at who she was texting and rolled her eyes when she saw Beau’s name.
She looked to her left at Violet who was also on her phone; she looked over her shoulder to see her texting Geno. Ariel grabbed her own phone checking to see if she had any texts, sadly she didn’t. If Geno and Beau were already texting Kay and Vi, why wasn’t Sidney texting her? She put her phone back in her pocket and tried to focus on the movie.
“That movie sucked.” Kayla spoke as they exited the movie theatre.
“How would you know you were on your phone the whole time?” Ariel scoffed.
“Someone’s bitter.” Jordan mumbled at Ariel’s sudden outburst in attitude. Ariel rolled her eyes ignoring Jordan’s comment.
“Can we go to the arcade?” Kenzie asked as excited as a little kid, she hadn’t been to the arcade in a while and was excited to go.
“Fine.” Ariel laughed as Kenzie grabbed her arm and dragged her over to the arcade.

“That’s so unfair!” Violet shrieked as she lost the game of air hockey against Kayla, “Best two out of three.” She put in a few more coins and began a new game.
Jordan rolled her eyes at how into the game they were getting, she watched Ariel and Kenzie playing against each other in dance revolution. She looked around the arcade trying to find a game to play; she froze when she saw him.
“Jordan? Are you okay?” Violet asked as she noticed the color drain from her face, she followed Jordan’s gaze and gasped when she realized what she was looking at it.
“Is that?” She asked. Jordan nodded her head; everyone stopped what they were doing once they noticed what was going on.
Jake was with another girl.
“She looks like she could be his mom.” Kayla scoffed.
“Do you usually touch your mom like that too?” Ariel asked. Jordan ripped her gaze away from Jake and the girl and looked at her friends.
“Can we go?” She asked as she tried not to let what she had seen affect her. The girls all nodded their heads and left before Jake had a chance to see them.
