Cold As Ice

Fiona ran around her room packing every little thing, Kayla had agreed to help her pack her things before she had to leave for Montreal. Fiona had been so stressed with all the online work she had to do in order to get into the psychology classes she wanted to take, the last thing she needed was to be stressing over packing.
“So what’s going on with you and Beau?” Fiona asked Kayla, it had been a few weeks since they first met and she knew they talked practically every day, she was wondering if Beau had finally made a move.
“What do you mean?” Kayla asked not following along; she had told Fiona and the rest of her friends everything they needed to know.
“Has he finally asked you out yet?” She asked.
Kayla laughed shaking her head, “Why would he ever ask me out?” She laughed at the thought of Beau ever wanting to actually be with her.
“Are you kidding Kay? He’s like head over heels for you; do you even see the way he looks at you? He’s like a ball of sunshine whenever you’re around him; his jaw was practically on the floor when he first saw you.” Fiona explained.
“I don’t know, I like him, I really like him, I just don’t know if he likes me too.” Kayla subconsciously chewed on her bottom lip, she really liked Beau and the thought of him not feeling the same was tearing her apart.
“Oh please he definitely likes you,” Fiona reassured, “Have you talked about going to another game of his?” She asked.
“Yeah, actually I’m going to Pittsburgh with Ariel and Violet during our break.” They had their whole spring break planned out, they’d drive down to Philly watch the Penguins game against the Flyers and then stay at Geno’s house for the whole week and go to the few home games they had.
“Is everyone leaving the city?” Fiona laughed, she would be heading to Montreal on Monday around the same time Sam and Kenzie would be flying to Chicago, and then Kay, Vi and Ariel would be leaving for Pennsylvania.
“Jordan. She’s staying, we asked her to come but she rather be with Jake, she said things between them were really good and they hadn’t had any fights which is rare.” Kayla explained using the same words Jordan had used to explain her reasoning for not joining them on their trip.
“They’re good together, well when he’s not acting like an ass. I’m just glad she finally found someone to be with.” Fiona spoke, Jordan had a few bad relationships in the past and it was hard for her to finally let someone in and settle down with them, she was glad she was able to do that with Jake.
“Have you noticed how he changed? He’s actually nice now, it’s like he has feelings.”
“Jake Gardiner actually has feelings.” Fiona gasped, the two of them laughed together at their jokes.
Kayla was right, Jake had changed, he was no longer smug, conceited or rude at all. He and Jordan never fought; she never complained about him, it was like he changed overnight, he was a whole different person, and they were all enjoying the new Jake.
“Did you end up getting that guy from the party’s number?” Kayla asked, as she finished packing another box filled with Fiona’s things.
“You mean Alex? No, he was cute but it was just a onetime thing.” Fiona explained, she had a great time with Alex that night, they talked and danced all night, and ended hooking up, but they both knew it was strictly a onetime thing.
“Oh, I was hoping you finally found someone to help you get over Jeff.” Kayla mumbled.
“I am over Jeff,” Fiona defended herself, she crossed her arms over her chest upset, Kayla eyed her knowing she was lying to herself, “Okay I’m not.” She sighed.
“We need to find you a new man.” Kayla stated.

“What are we doing here?” Jordan asked as she walked hand in hand with Jake through the Woodbine Center.
She had been to this mall a few times when she was younger; it was the only mall in this city that had amusement rides.
“We’re going to have some fun.” Jake smiled as he pulled her along towards the bumper cars; he had bought the two of them passes to go on whichever ride their hearts desired.
Jordan strapped herself into her car and waited for the the all clear sign, once they were able to go, she drove towards Jake and immediately bumped into him. She forced her attention on Jake, hitting him as much time as possible, she avoided running into the little kids afraid of hurting them.
“That was so much fun!” She squealed as they ran out of the gates.
“Watch this.” He spoke before running and doing a back flip into the ball pit, Jordan followed his move and ran and jumped in right next to him.
Her body sank into the pit and she laughed as she was attacked by the balls Jake was throwing at her, she grabbed a couple of them and threw them back. She tried her best to move around and get away from the balls he was throwing at her, she tried to throw them back at him but she had horrible aim.
“I give up!” She threw her hands in the air dropping the reminder of the balls and admitting defeat.
Jake smirked to himself as he won the battle, he got out of the ball pit and held out his hand for Jordan, she grabbed onto it and he lifted her out of the pit. They straightened out their clothes as they made their way over to the ferris wheel.
They got into their cart and sta down beside each other, he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close into his chest, she rested her head on him and the ride started. She held onto his hand squeezing it every time they were at the top of the ferris wheel, she was terrified of heights but having him there to hold her hand made everything okay.
She looked up at him and smiled, she kissed his lips gently, she pulled away and nuzzled back into his chest.
“Jordan?” He called her gaining her attention, she lifted her head and he leaned down and kissed her again.
“I love you.” He admitted.
