Cold As Ice

Laughting Fits

Kenzie sat on her bed her legs crossed as she held her phone in front of her, she smiled at Pat who was on face time with her, she laughed at his horrible attempt to be funny.
“You should take a trip to Chicago for a bit,” He suggested, “You could bring Sam.” He added.
Kenzie chewed onto her bottom lip as she thought about it, she missed Patrick terribly and talking over the phone just wasn’t the same. She would love to visit Chicago to see him, she had a week off from school due to Spring break next week and it’d be the perfect opportunity to go see Patrick.
“That’s perfect, I’ll ask Sam. Would Jonathan be okay with it?” She asked, Sam hadn’t talked about Jonathan in a while, the last time she had even mentioned his name was the day she stayed home to talk to him.
”She’s all he talks about; he’s practically dying to see her again.” Patrick laughed; Kenzie got up from her bed and walked over to Sam’s room, she walked into her room still holding up her phone to her face.
“Hey Patrick!” Sam greeted already being used to Kenzie being on the phone with him most of the time; he said a simple hello to her.
Sam closed her books that were laid out in front of her, “What’s up?” She asked Kenzie who knew to never bother when when she was studying.
“You have next week off right?” Kenzie asked, Sam nodded her head, “Do you want to go to Chicago with me?”
“Kenz,” Sam sighed, “I have so much work to do and I can’t keep slacking.” She explained, Sam’s main priority needed to be school; she couldn’t go down the wrong path again.
“Please Sam,” Patrick pleaded, Sam playfully rolled her eyes “Kenzie told me how hard you’ve been working, you deserve a break and plus Jon wants to see you.”
Sam shook her head giving in, “Fine, but I’m doing this for Kenzie!” Kenzie cheered excitedly she gave Sam a tight hug before she walked out of her room leaving her to study on her own.
Sam rolled her eyes at Kenzie as she overheard her talking about what she and Patrick were going to do in Chicago; she grabbed her book and opened it back up, she felt her phone vibrate, she groaned before picking it up and answering.
“What do you want Ariel?” She asked as she answered the phone.
“Don’t give me attitude Samantha,” She snapped, “We’re going to a party tonight so get ready, and tell Kenzie too.”
Sam sighed, “I can’t I have to study.” She explained.
“You’re going Samantha! You deserve a night off, don’t make me go to your place and drag you to the party.” Ariel warned.
She groaned, “Fine! Hey did Jordan spend the night at your place last night? She didn’t come home so I figured she was at your place.”
“She spent the night at Jake’s place, I have to get ready, I’ll talk to you later.” She explained.
“Alright, bye.” She hung up and closed her books, she wasn’t going to get any studying done tonight, she got up from her bed and walked over to Kenzie’s room.
She opened her door popping her head in, “We’re going to a party, no excuses, get ready.” She spoke; she closed the door behind her and walked back to her room to get ready.

Morgan watched as Jake walked Jordan out, he waved to say goodbye and turned back to the show he was watching. Jake walked over to the couch, hopping on and sitting beside him, he leaned back taking up as much space as he could to purposely annoy Morgan.
“I’ve got her wrapped around my finger.” Jake bragged.
Morgan shook his head, “Why is everything a game to you?” He asked.
Jake shrugged his shoulders, “Life’s better that way.” He grabbed the remote from Morgan’s hand and changed the channel to TSN hoping there would be a game on to help pass the time.
“Jordan’s different and you know it,” Morgan stated, Jake looked over at him confused, “She’s not another girl you’re playing, you actually like her but you won’t admit it.” He explained.
“I don’t like her,” He snapped, “She’s just another girl to sleep with, you know me Morgan I don’t like anyone.”
“You’re right, I do know you, which is exactly how I know that Jordan is the one for you, and you know it too. You like her, just admit it.” Morgan patted Jake’s back before getting up and walking to his room leaving Jake alone with his thoughts.
Jake shook his head, the thought of him actually liking someone was ridiculous, he didn’t like anyone, he wasn’t capable of loving anyone but himself. There was a reason why they said his heart was ice cold.

“Whose party is this?” Kayla asked as they walked up the stoned path towards the door.
“One of the leafs players, Jake invited Jordan and she invited us,” Ariel explained, “They just had a game against Montreal so expect to see some habs players.”
“Are there any cute players on the Montreal team?” Fiona asked, she never paid much attention to hockey or the players.
“Yes but stay away from the ones who are married Fiona!” Violet warned.
“It was one time and in my defense I didn’t know he was married!” Fiona defended herself; they entered the house and made their way over to the drinks.
Fiona grabbed herself a cup and filled up her drink with the first bottle she could grab, she turned around noticing her friends had left her. She groaned to herself and pushed past the random people searching for her friends; she spotted Jake and Jordan but didn’t want to interrupt their conversation.
She gave up trying to find her friend and made her way over to the kitchen, she pulled out one of the stools and sat down; she put her drink down in front of her and got out her phone. She sent a text to both Kenzie and Sam asking when they would arrive, she looked around the kitchen, there were only a few people in here with her.
She locked eyes with someone as they walked in, she looked away from his gaze and down at the counter top in front of her. He walked over and slid into the stool next to her, he placed his drink in front of him the way she had done when she sat down.
They sat side by side neither of them saying a word, she could feel him staring at her, she looked up at him and he looked away. She smiled to herself as she stared at him, he looked over at her and she looked away, she waited a bit before looking at him again, he looked away avoiding her eyes.
He looked over at her again and this time she didn’t look away, they stared at each other a moment neither of them saying a word, they burst into fits of laughter at the same time.
“Why are we laughing?” He asked as he held him stomach in pain from laughing so hard, Fiona shrugged her shoulders as she laughed, she didn’t know what was so funny.
They both calmed down and stopped laughing; they looked over at each other and smiled, “I’m Fiona.” She introduced.
“Alex.” He smiled wider.
