One Shots

Stay

Jordan looked through her jewelry trying to find some accessories to add to her outfit, she grabbed a necklace holding it up and turning around to show Autumn.
“Is this okay?” She asked her, Autumn nodded her head before continuing to finish her makeup, Jordan put on the necklace and admired her outfit in the mirror.
She turned to the side admiring the view of her ass in the tight dress Autumn had let her borrow, she sat on the edge of her bed sliding on her heels. She waited for Autumn to finish fixing up minor details, she couldn’t wait to go to a party and actually have fun for once.
She felt her phone vibrate on her bed, she picked it up checking the caller ID, it was Jake again. She ignored the call and let it go to voicemail, she threw her phone back onto her bed, the last thing she needed right now was to think about him.
Autumn sighed noticing how drastically Jordan’s mood had changed, “You should really talk to him.” She suggested.
Jake was a touchy subject, she knew how much Jordan loved him and how he had hurt her, she wasn’t the same since they broke up and Autumn hated seeing her friend so upset. Jake had called her constantly since they broke up, he tried to make up for his excuses, he even begged Autumn to try and convince Jordan to talk to him, but Jordan wouldn’t say a word to him or about him.
Jordan shook her head, “No.” She mumbled she got up from her bed and walked over to the bathroom; she closed the door behind her and looked in the mirror at herself. She took a deep breath trying to compose herself, she wasn’t going to let Jake ruin her night.
She looked down at the phone in her hand, she was fighting with herself, a part of her wanted to listen to the voicemails he left her and a part of her wanted to delete them. She sighed finally giving in; she held the phone up to her ear as she listened to them.
“Jordan please talk to me, I miss you…. I need you.”
Next.
“I love you Jordan and not being with you is killing me, it gets harder each day, please come back to me.”
Next.
“I messed up and I am so sorry, but I can’t do this without you. There’s no one I love more than you, no one could ever replace you.”
Next.
“I tried to live without you but I couldn’t do it. I’m alone and empty, I’m lost without you.”
Jordan’s hands shook as she moved her phone away from her ear; she lifted a shaky hand up to her mouth as she muffled her cries. She sobbed into her hands as his voicemails still played; she had dropped her phone onto the ground but could still hear a bit of his words.
There was a knock on the door, “Jordan are you okay?” Autumn asked, she opened the door finding Jordan sitting on the floor of her bathroom sobbing into her hands.
She sat on the floor beside her and held her as she cried; she rubbed her back trying to calm her down, Jake’s voicemails were still playing, they both looked at each other as they heard the recent voicemail he left her. Jordan grabbed her phone and replayed the voicemail.
“I’m going home tonight to Minnesota, I won’t be back until hockey season starts again. Say something, anything, and I’ll stay, if you ask me I will stay, you just have to say something….please.”
Autumn stared at Jordan wondering what she was going to do, “You can’t let him leave.” Autumn spoke breaking the silence, she knew it was a matter of time before Jordan caved and went back to Jake but she couldn’t do that if he was in Minnesota.
Jordan got up from the floor, “I need to see him.” She quickly fixed her make up that had smudged from her tears, she grabbed her car keys and walked out of her room leaving Autumn by herself. She ran to her car as fast as she could in her heels, she was on the road and on route to Jake’s apartment in a matter of minutes.
She ran up the staircase as fast as she could, she got impatient waiting for the elevator, she had made it to the third floor out of breath, she found Jake’s apartment and knocked violently on the door. The door swung open and behind it stood Morgan.
“Jordan wha-“
She cut him off, “Is Jake here?” She asked still trying to catch her breath from running up those flights of stairs.
“He on his way to Pearson airport, he left about 15 minutes ago.” He explained, Jordan kissed his cheek thanking him before running back down the hall and towards the stairs; she quickly took off her heels before running down the stairs bare foot.

She ran through the airport trying to find him, she pushed past people standing around; she couldn’t let him leave without telling him how she felt. She grabbed her phone calling his number; she ran around as the phone rang, she hung up after it went to voice mail.
“Jake!” She shouted once she spotted him, she ran up to him grabbed his face and kissed him; she kissed him like it was the last time she’d ever get to.
She pulled away from the kiss catching her breath from all the running “You can’t leave. You wanted me to say something so here it is. I’m asking you to stay because I love you Jake Gardiner, I’m so sorry for shutting you out, I can’t live another day without you.” She cried.
He opened his mouth to speak but she cut him off, “Wait. I love you Jake, I love everything about you and I was so stupid for taking so long to realize that I’m in love with you and I can’t go on without you. I miss you, I miss us, I miss being able to kiss you whenever I wanted, I miss dancing with you without any music playing, I miss beating you at video games and rubbing it in your face, I miss holding your hand while skating."
She talked through her tears, “I miss the way you made me laugh even when I had the worst day, I miss being mad at you for stupid things and having you do everything possible to make it up to me even though I was wrong half the time. I miss your big blue eyes that I always told you I loved, I miss falling asleep in your arms, and the truth is I miss everything about you.”
He pulled her into a hug, “I love you Jordan, I love you more than anyone. I will stay, I will always stay. I missed you so much.” He held her close as she cried.
“I wanted to call you back every single day and it tore me part to ignore your calls because I wanted you back more than I wanted anything. I wish I could go back and change what happened because my biggest regret was leaving you and I’m just so glad to have you back.” She held him close to her, she always felt safe in his arms and for the first time in months she knew everything was going to be okay.
“I love you Jordan and I was a mess without you, I love you so much it physically hurts. I never stopped thinking about you, you were always on my mind. Don’t ever leave me.” Jake pleaded, he kissed Jordan again, he never did forget what it felt like to feel her lips against his.
“Never.” She smiled.
