Wake Me Up, When September Ends

It was 9:42AM, as Tyler strolled down the gate area towards the Leaf's dressing room. He had on his black suit and wore it proudly, along with a pair of headphones in his ears. He played some pump up music as he looked over to the security. He flashed them a smile as they waved back, before he continued on his way. He turned around as he felt someone poke him on the shoulder. Phil smiled at him widely as Tyler took out his headphones.

"Hey man." Tyler mused.

"Have fun at your meet up today?" Phil asked with a wink as Tyler rolled his eyes.

Tyler had gone to a meeting with his ex fiancé, Diana, to discuss the case regarding their split and who was going to get what from their engagement. The two lived together so they had to figure out who would get the home, they owned a dog together, Bronco, and they needed to figure out who would get the dog. Tyler had paid for all of it, but Diana was insisting it was all hers. Tyler looked at Phil as he sighed.

"I need to find a lawyer." He breathed as Phil raised a brow.

"How come?" He asked, confused.

"Dianna's trying to take all my shit so I need to get a lawyer to sort it out." He confessed as Phil sighed.

The two walked in to their dressing room as they were met by some of their playmates just hanging around in their under armour. Tyler grabbed a seat beside JVR as Phil grabbed the seat to the other side of him. The two began getting dressed as they updated JVR on Bozie's meeting with his ex.

"Hey, I heard May's sister is actually getting into being a lawyer or she is one, something like that. Hey Mason!" JVR yelled as Mason turned around, raising a brow.

"What's up?" Mason asked as he JVR gestured for him to come over.

Nodding, Mason walked over to the three as he was in the middle of taping his stick.

"Hey, Bozie here is looking for a lawyer, isn't your sister into that?" He asked as Mason nodded, looking at Tyler.

"Yeah she just got out of school, what's it for if you don't mind I ask?" Mason asked, tilting his head.

"I'm bringing my ex to court, she's trying to take all of my belongings; my house and dog. You know." He shrugged as Mason nodded.

"Yeah no problem man, she's actually in the city because she went to university here, so I'll text her after the game, yeah?" He asked as Tyler smiled and nodded.

"Sounds good."

The boys all suited up with their pregame jerseys, due to it being Lupe's Troops night. They wore their camouflaged jerseys as they took the ice, skating on as music blared through the stadium. They worked on some quick moves they learned in practice before the half an hour was up and it was time for the pregame ceremonies. The boys skated off as they all sat around the dressing up, taking off their practice jerseys, being able to watch the ceremonies as they put on their fresh home jerseys. Tyler sat there ready as some of the other boys watched intently as well, the others trying to get ready but still listening. He watched them honour all of the veterans and current troops as he began to feel for them. He honoured their work and felt proud to be Canadian. Growing up, Tyler had always had a passion for the military. Once he entered university, he wasn't interested as much due to the high demand of hockey he needed to do in order to be his best. Tyler looked over at Lupul who was smiling proudly, feeling proud to represent the troops for a night. The ceremonies soon finished as the boys got up and skated on the ice to play.

After going into over time, the boys in blue won, 4-3, to the Blue Jackets. Tyler was in the middle of getting changed into his suit while talking about some of the chirps made by the Jackets players, when Mason interrupted him.

"Boz, my sister showed up to the game tonight, she came with a friend. I could introduce you." He offered as Tyler nodded, gathering his things.

"Yeah, sure." He told him, sliding his phone into his pocket.

The two said their goodbyes to their teammates as they walked through the doors to the open lobby downstairs. Mason walked over to a blonde and a brunette as Tyler followed. The girls turned around and smiled as Mason introduced them.

"Tyler, this is Aria and Meghan." He told them as they all shook hands before turning to Mason.

"Aria, Tyler is actually looking for a lawyer to support his case." He smiled, looking from his sister to Tyler.

Tyler's first instinct was that she was hot. His typical type, blonde hair, fit, and seemed fun. He couldn't take his eyes off of her as she licked her lips, nodding.

"Oh, hey I'm looking for someone to defend." She laughed as Tyler joined in.

"Well if it's about handling a crazy ex fiancé it's all yours." He smiled as she raised a brow.

"She trying to steal your house or something?" She asked as he nodded.

"And dog."

She nodded as she took out her wallet and held her card out for Tyler.

Tyler smiled as he put in into the back of his phone case. He looked back up at the blonde as he began to speak.

"If you're not busy tomorrow maybe we can grab coffee to discuss it?" He suggested.

"Yeah, sure, just give me a call or text and we're set." She smiled before looking at her brother who was on his phone, probably texting his wife.

"May you played amazing." She chimed as he looked at her and smiled.

"Thanks, Ar. It's nice you came tonight but I probably could have gotten you closer to the glass." He offered as she shook her head.

"Nah it was fine, got to drink with some random dudes." She laughed as Tyler felt a bit of jealousy hit him, for a reason he could not think of.

"That's good then." Mason laughed. "Well I gotta get going home to the family, Aria come over some time, alright? Don't be a stranger." He smiled as she nodded, giving her brother a quick hug.

"Bye May." She told him before Tyler and Meghan said their goodbyes as well.

"Well it was nice meeting you Tyler but we better get going so I can wake up to go out for coffee." She winked as he laughed softly.

"Yeah, see you too later." He smiled before shaking their hands and walking off.

Meghan turned to Aria who was on her phone, going through her emails.

"He was so into you." Meghan told Aria who looked up confused.

"What Tyler? Yeah I'm not using my brother's fame to hook up with NHL players, no thanks." She laughed as Meghan rolled her eyes and walked off with her best friend.

"Well he's a fine piece of ass so I'm just saying you could get it.
