All of me

The Bruins won the series against the Redwings 4:1. Up next, the Montreal Canadians.

I couldn't make it to Game 5 to watch the Bruins defeat the Redwings because I had two exams the following day. Reilly was very busy practicing and getting ready for the games so I didn't see him much during the week. We never had time to do anything really and I really wanted to talk to him about my rotations. I couldn't wait any longer.

After defeating the Redwings, Reilly's whole family, including his brothers, Brendan and Rory went out to dinner. It was around 11 pm when I decided to call Reilly and congratulate him.

'Hi babe!' He says

'Ah! Congrats love! I'm so proud of you! You were amazing today!'

'Thank you so much Emms! It means a lot. Wish I could have seen you today. I have a few days off until the next round begins so hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.' He says.

'I know, our schedules have been all over the place but I'll definitely see you soon. Say hi to your family for me!'

I could hear him say 'Emma says Hi!' to the family, a few second later I hear many shouting 'Hi Emma! Good luck tomorrow!'

'Haha! Thank you!' I mostly could hear his mom, which was adorable. I continue,

'Alright, I'll let you go love. Enjoy the rest of your night and Congrats again! Love you.'

'Love you too babe! Bye' he says as he hangs up the phone.

I couldn't really sleep that night. So many things were racing in my mind and keeping me up. I needed some air, I open my window and let the fresh April air in my room.

It'll all be fine. It always is.

I kept tossing and turning all night so I only got a few hours of sleep.I had my first midterm at 8 am. That one went really well. I was excited of how well it went. The next one was at 3 pm. I had some time in between the exams to look over my material. After that was over, I didn't feel that great about it but I wasn't worried.

I get home around 6 pm and as I'm about to unlock the door I hear people inside. I open the door, I find Reilly and Katie sitting on the couch watching TV.

'What the hell are you watching Katie?' Reilly says.

'Its called 'Are you the one?' It's so entertaining!'

'You don't believe this stuff do you? This is so lame' Reilly says.

'Shut up. It's either this or reruns of Reba.'

'Reba over this crap any day.'

'Cause you lived in Texas for a few year all of a sudden you like Reba?'

'What? Who doesn't love Reba?!'

'What are you guys arguing about now?' I say as I walk in and drop all my bags and jacket.

'Its about time!' Reilly says as he gets up and comes towards me and kisses me.

'Get a room' Katie says with her eyes glued to the TV.

'I have to get changed. Reills please grab my bags. I'm exhausted' I say as I walk slowly to my room. He follows and jumps on my bed. I change into on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt.

'How were your exams?'

'I think they went well. I'll find out in a few days.'

He gets up.

'I'm sure you did amazing, you always do.'

'Thanks' I giggle as I grab his face.

'I've missed you babe' I say as I stroke his cheek with my thumb

'Yeah? I guess I missed you a little bit.

'Just a bit huh? You sure about that?' As I teased him.

He leans over and kisses me as he puts his arms around my waist and tightens them so there is no space between us. I slide my fingers through the back of his head. His lips parted from mine and made their way to my jaw and the base of my neck. After a few moments, I grab his head and stare into his eyes, and gently place my lips on his one more time, leaving me gasping for air.

'Just a little bit huh?' I said as I try to catch my breath.

He laughs as he loosens his grip.

'Uh huh.'

'What am I going to do with you...' as I give him one more peck on the lips.

I don't remember the last time we kissed like this. It was very passionate. Don't get me wrong, so are the other ones but this one felt different. I hoped and prayed I don't ever lose this. I had a feeling like it was going to be taken from me and it scared the living hell out of me.

'Can't wait for the off season so I can spend some quality time with you. Maybe we can go on a vacation anywhere you want?' He says.

I nod and smile. My throat closed shut. My heart started racing.

'That'd be wonderful.' I whispered as his face lights up.

'I have a little surprise for you. It's in the fridge.' He says as he grabs my hand and heads towards the kitchen.

He opens the fridge and there is a Georgetown Cupcakes box. A giant box. I open it and there are at least dozen cupcakes here, all different flavors. A dozen.

'I remembered the flavors you said you wanted to try but haven't had a chance to so I bought them so you can try them. After all its finals week, you deserve it.’

'Reilly! Thank you! You're so sweet!' I give him a big hug.

'But I can't finish these all, obviously you guys have to help me!'

'Thought you'd never ask! I haven’t been able to take them off my mind all afternoon.' Katie says as we all sit around the counter. I start laughing.

'Under one condition. I have to have a small bite out of each cupcakes.'

'Ew.' Katie said as she gave me a gross look followed by a smirk.

'Oh shut up! You eat most of my food anyway!'

'I'm kidding jeez!' As she puts her finger in one of the frostings and licks it.

'What the hell is that? Nope. You can have that.' We all started laughing.

Knock. Knock.

'I’ll get it' I open the door and I see none other than Adam.

'Quaider!' I give him a hug.

'Where have you been nerd?!'

'Ugh! You don't want to know. Congrats on making it to the next round!'

'Thanks!' He says as we both head towards the table.

'Montreal huh?'

'Yep. Going to be interesting, right Smitty? ' He says.

'It sure is. I'm excited.' Reilly said.

'Beat the Haaaaabs!' Me and Katie said simultaneously.

Reilly and Adam looked shocked.

'That's scary.' Reilly said.

'Totally. Cupcakes?!' Adam says.

'Yep! Reilly got them for me!' I say as I smile at him.

'Uh hm must be nice.' Katie says as she looks at Adam. I start laughing hysterically.

'What?! I get you things.' He said.

'Sure.'

'Wow it's like that? Fine, I'll buy you two dozen next time we go.'

'Make that three!' She says as she kisses him.

'Deal' he says as he takes a bite of a cupcake.

I had three cupcakes and I was done.

'I'm going to puke.' I said

'Same!' Katie replied.

I went towards the couch and dove into the pillows.

'Are you the one?! Yes! How many matches do they have already?' I ask. I loved stupid shows like this. They are so entertaining and dramatic. I loved it.

'7!' Katie says.

'Oh my god! They can do it!' I say as I turn my whole attention to the TV.

'Are you guys serious?' Adam said.

'Thank you!' Reilly was happy someone agreed with him.

'Babe come here!' I say as I reach out for him, eyes glued to the screen.

'There is nothing else on?' Adam said.

'Reba...' Katie says annoyed.

'I love Reba!' He says. Katie looks at me annoyed, as the boys high-five.

I couldn't help but laugh.

I had fallen asleep on the couch and Reilly carried me to my room. I woke up as soon as he put me on my bed. He gets into the bed right next to me. I rest my head on his right arm. Now I was wide awake. Just do it. I waited a few minutes.

'Babe?' I call him

'Hm' he says

'You awake?'

'Yeah'

'I want to talk to you about something...'

'Of course. Is everything okay?'

Here I go.

'So you know my rotations are coming up-'

'Yes'

'Well my professor selected me and a few other students to do rotations with her for the year-'

'That's awesome! With Dr. Williams or someone else?'

'Dr. Williams.'

'Congrats babe! That's an amazing opportunity for you.'

'Thanks but I don't think I'm going to take it'

'What?! Why not?'

I shake my head.

'Emma, tell me why?'

'Its in New York Reilly. New York! As in 5 hours from here. As in another state. For a year!' My eyes started tearing up. I could tell he was shocked because I could hear his heartbeat since my head resting on his chest. He doesn't say anything. I sit up.

'I didn't know how to tell you. I couldn't find the right time and I couldn't keep it in any longer. It's been eating me from the inside.'

He sits up and puts his arms around me.

'It's okay. We'll figure it out. When did you found out?'

'The day I met your parents.'

'That was last week Emma. You could have told me.'

'When? You had your playoffs. I didn't want to upset you and have it effect your game.'

He doesn't say anything.

'I see. When do you need to decide by?’

‘Soon’ He nods his head. His tone changed completely. This is what I feared the most.

‘Let's go to bed. We can talk about this tomorrow.'

That's it? That's all he had to say?

'Okay, Goodnight' I say as he kisses my forehead.'

'Night'
