Not Over

Homewrecker

"Did someone say something to you?" I asked pulling away from his swollen lips.

"Yeah-uh duper and I for into a fight at practice." He said looking at the bed to the side of me. He looked like a pleading puppy, but I wasn't going to just give in like I usually do.

"What?! I screamed moving from underneath him. I wrapped the towel back around my body and stood up, disgusted.

"He kept--talking to me. I went off and it was pretty --"

"Wait fist fight or verbal?" I needed clarification. I was pacing a line into the carpet with my arms crossed. I couldn't even look at him.

"Both."

Sidney's POV

I tried to cover up some of the marks and swollen parts of my face by icing them for a good half hour before leaving Consol. I even had a cold, melting bag of ice in the car. I knew she'd be pissed.

"You got into a fight with him?!" I nodded my head silently. She always wanted the best for the team. She never minded sacrificing time with me for the team. It was always the team.

"Jesus Christ, this is the last thing I wanted to happen." She said walking around, running her hands through her hair.

"Look, I'm sorry. Dan called us in to talk and we're, we're okay. Really. We talked about it. We'll be just fine." I pleaded with her. She was quiet for a moment then walked to the closet. She didn't say a word and I wasn't exactly sure what to say. I hate situations like this. I could feel my heart rate increasing, but all I could do was watch her walk away.

"This is my fucking fault." She mumbled thinking I wouldn't hear her.

"Babe, dont--"

"I'm going to work Sid. I'll see you later." She said coldly. She had changed into a tight black pencil skirt and a low-cut purple top. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her as she walked right by me without looking at me. Part of me wanted to follow her, but at the same time I knew she was too angry to talk. I took a deep sigh and sat on the bed.

Pascal's POV

When I got home I was exhausted. I barely got any sleep last night so practice was really rough on me. I tried to push everything to the back of my mind while numbly listening to the top 40 on my way home. When I got home the kids were still in school or napping. Carole-Lyne was washing dishes. I had to tell her,

"Hey honey" She kissed me when I walked into the kitchen.

"Hey. Um.....I need to tell you something." I begin leaning against the island behind her. I started to wring my hands nervously.

"What's up Pascal?" I couldn't even look in her eyes.

"I cheated on you. With Arielle. I'm sorry" I say staring at the cream colored tile. She instantly froze.

"Carole-Lyne?" I asked when she didn't move or say anything for a long time.

"I heard you" She said rinsing her hands and drying them.

"Wake Lola up in an hour for feeding" she said before putting on her coat and walking right out of the house.

I sighed and walked into Lola's nursery. I couldn't help but think I just ruined everything good in my life for someone who doesn't even give two shits about me.

Nobody's POV

Carole-Lyne was furious. Though she didn't show it. You could almost call her Mrs. Serious. She was good at staying calm no matter how many burning hells she felt inside. He didn't have to say when he and Arielle fucked, he didn't have to. She already knew it was the weekend of Canada Day.

She got into their chevy and sat in it for just a moment. It was freezing outside and she could see her breath inside the car. She turned the heat on and flipped down the mirror. Her green eyes shone back at her and she some hair behind her ear. She wasn't crying. She wasn't even that upset at Pascal. She knew their marriage was failing, but they had 4 kids. What were they supposed to do?

She dialed a once familiar number.

"Hey Arielle where are you?" She asked, clearing her throat to sound as even-headed as possible.

"Just got to work. What's up?" Arielle replied.

"You mind if I come by? My computer is doing this really weird thing" She lied.

"Of course. Bring it over"

"See you in a bit."

Carole-Lyne ended the call and speeded to the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Arielle's POV

It was a pretty busy day at the store. Maggie was doing some stocking in the back while I ran the front. I was helping one man while two ladies waited patiently in line. I heard the doorbell ring and light poured in the store. I looked up from my work and saw Carole-Lyne walking towards me.

"Hey girl, I'll be right with you!" I called staring back down at my work. I thought she said her laptop needed fixing, but I didn't see her holding it.

"No, we need to talk now!" She screamed angrily. I popped my head up at her in shock.

"What's going on?" I asked in amazement. She's not the kind to ever cause a scene.

"You're a fucking slut and a homewrecker!" She screamed slapping me across the face. I took a deep breath and held my cheek.

"You fucked my husband, in our bed, with my children right downstairs! You're a dirty fucking whore." She said before walking out the store, slamming the door behind her. I stood there in shock. Pascal must have told her. The customers just stared at me in disgust and the two women walked out of the store grimacing. I felt like Hester Prynne.
