Redemption of Puck Slut: Part I

January 25, 2014

Jan. 22, 2014

Dear Diary,

I miss my Penguins.

They were so much nicer in Pittsburgh.

It’s too cold in Chicago, and windy. I want to go home

: (

I’ve been here for a few days, and things are not going well.

The ice girls decided to surprise me the morning after I got there to help me unpack my stuff. The apartment I’m renting came with furniture and pretty much everything else I could need, so all I really had to do was unpack my clothes.

I already don’t like them. They’re too fake and shallow. I was hoping at least one of them would be somewhat decent, but they all seem equally horrible.

My first practice with the ice girls didn’t go well either.

Jon did not forget our conversation before the pre-season game in September. I was hoping he would.

“Who’s going to iron Sid’s shirts if you’re out here?” he asked with a smile.

“I guess he’s going to have to do it himself,” I replied and continued to tie my skates without looking at him.

“Wow, you are not the same flirty ice girl I talked to before we beat your boyfriend in the pre-season on his own ice,” he replied, still smirking. “What the hell did Sid do to you?”

I finished with my and skates I stood up, and stared at him without smiling, “nothing,” I replied and walked past him.

The same thing happened the next day, except he brought Patrick Kane with him this time.

“Pat, this is Crosby’s girlfriend,” Jon said pointing to me as they walked into the ice girl’s locker room. “I think he broke her or something because she never smiles.”

“What?” Patrick said, looking amused, “This is his girlfriend? What is she doing in Chicago?”

I looked up at him but didn’t say anything. They knew why I was here. Or at least part of the reason why I am here.

“It’s because she missed me,” Jon said, “we had a thing before they started dating, and she missed me so she begged Mario to send her to Chicago.”

They followed me to the ice and continued to do this as I warmed up with the other ice girls. I decided to show off a bit, because their ice girls suck. I did a few fancy jumps, but my back flip is kind of my thing now. Jon and Patrick were sitting at the bench talking to each other when I suddenly jumped up on the boards in front of them, flipped them both off, and then did a back flip and skated away.

They were amused, and a little impressed.

I skated at my first game the night after I got here. People booed me when I got on the ice. Someone even had a sign that said ‘We don’t want Sidney Crosby’s whore in Chicago!’

The Pens lost their game against Florida 5-1. It was their first game since I left. I’m not saying they lost because I wasn’t there, but Sid wasn’t playing his best that night.

Before leaving Pittsburgh I visited Pancake. I sat on Brandon’ s bed with her, because that’s where she had been sleeping. I suddenly started crying, realizing that I wouldn’t get to see my cat anymore.

Brandon came in to see what was wrong and sat down next to me. He put his arm around my shoulders and kissed my head, “hey, it’s okay.”

“I shouldn’t be this sad about leaving my cat,” I said wiping my eyes.

“Hey, if I had an amazing cat like that I’d be upset if I had to leave her behind too,” he said trying to cheer me up.

It worked, and I smiled, “I don’t know if she’s amazing, but I’ll miss her.” I leaned up against his arm, “and I’ll miss you too.”

He pulled me closer, “I’ll miss you too Emme.” We sat like that for a minute before I started to turn to face him. Pancake jumped off my lap, upset that I moved, and left to find her food.

I looked up into his eyes and slowly leaned in and kissed him. I pulled back realizing what I had done, but I looked into his eyes and saw pain, sadness, and desire. That kiss ignited something inside me that I had been suppressing. I let him slowly push me back onto the bed as he began tenderly making out with me, like it was the last time he would ever get to. Everything was so different this time; it was slower and more intimate. Afterwards we cuddled and our bodies seemed to mold together. It was an amazing, intimate, moment like nothing I had ever experienced before. I listened to his heartbeat, feeling him breath, not wanting to forget that moment.

We were finally interrupted by a text from Sid.

As I was leaving we stood by the door trying to say good bye. He seemed like he wanted to say something but couldn’t.

Instead he said, “I guess I’ll see you when we play Chicago.”

I kissed him goodbye and went home to spend the night in Sid’s arms.

Thinking about this now makes me miss Pittsburgh even more.
I want to go home. : (

Sincerely,

Emme

Dear Diary,

I get to go home tomorrow!
Chicago has lost nearly every game I since I came here. Coincidence? Probably, but I don’t care. I have nearly the entire month of February off because of the Olympics! Yay!

So excited to get back to Pittsburgh!

<3 Emme
