Come Closer

Today I am going to meet with my new doctor, Dr. Reid I was referred to him by my doctor in Canada. He wanted me to go in and have a full physical so he can see and make sure everything is going good with my body since the accident.

I have always hated getting physicals, I mean sure; doctors have seen it all but it is just awkward having someone other than your significant other touching your private parts.

“Hi Meghan, it is so nice to finally meet you.” He said as he walked into the examination room.

“Nice to meet you as well.”

“So how have you been since the accident, any pains near your ribs or your collarbone?”
“No, everything feels good. I have the odd tense up in my shoulder but other than that everything feels fine.” I said smiling.

“Good, so I just wanted to give you a full physical check –up to make sure everything is all good with you.”

“Sounds good.” I said, and with that let the fun begin.

“You know what’s gross and weird.” I phoned Khloe after the appointment.

“What’s that?”

“When a random man is touching you.”

“Does James know about this, what the hell?” Khloe said, concerned.

“I went to see the doctor Khloe, I had a full physical.” I said.

“Is everything ok?”

“Well I had to give blood work and he said he would contact me if anything was wrong.”

“Well I’m sure everything is fine, what are your plans for Christmas?” she asked.

“Not too sure yet, I think James’ parents might be coming down, but who knows, it will just be James and I for sure.”

“Have you talked to your mom since you got back?”

“No and I have no desire to either.”

I have gone to being sad and upset about my mom and possibly my whole family not coming to the wedding, to being pissed off about it.

“That’s fair.” She said. “So what are your plans for the rest of the day?”

“James has a game tonight so he is at home having his pre-game nap. I’m probably just going to do some shopping, I want a new lamp for my office, and then I’ll probably just watch the game with a good glass of wine.” I said turning the car on.

“I wish I was there with you, I miss my best friend.” I could hear her starting to cry. This obviously made me cry.

“I miss you two, once you have a bit of a break you will have to come down to see me, the house looks amazing.”

“I’ll come down as soon as I can. I can’t be without my soul mate for much longer.”

James and the boys won the game against Nashville; James didn’t score but made some pretty big plays. I was feeling a little drunk since I almost drank a whole bottle of wine to myself and I was starting to feel a little sexy. After my doctor’s appointment I went to the mall by my house. Got myself a new lamp and made a trip into Victoria’s Secret. So many sexy outfits, I found one that I would surprise James with if he won the game. And since he won the game and I was a little drunk, what a perfect time to bring out the sexy Meghan.

About an hour and a half later I head the front door open. Yes, he’s home!

“Meghan, where are you?” I could hear him yelling downstairs.

“I’m upstairs.” Then I could hear him walking up the stairs.

“Whoa.” James opened the door and I was laying in bed with my new piece of Lingerie. He stopped mid-sentence.

“You know, after my appointment I needed a new lamp, so I decided to make my way into Victoria’s Secret and get myself something nice for you if you won the game.” I got up and went over to him putting my finger in the front of his dress pants and pulled him closer to me.

“What do you think?”

“Meghan, let me tell you something. You have never been so sexier than you are standing in front of me right now, and that nice outfit that you got for me is going to be coming off right away." This time James pulled me closer to him and started to kiss every piece of skin that was not covered by my new outfit.

Sure enough clothes came off in a matter of seconds. James and I were completely in love with each other. Not only was the sex phenomenal but he was gentle with every single piece of me and I would not trade this moment for the world.

James had practice the next morning so he was up before I was.

I walked down the stairs and saw him drinking coffee and reading something off his ipad.

“Good Morning beautiful.” She said, I went over and kissed him.

“Good morning to you to, what time is practice?”

“Late practice today, 11.”

Just as I finished pouring myself a cup of coffee the phone rang.

“Hello” James answered. “Yeah, she’s right here.” James handed me the phone.

“Who is it” I whispered. He just shrugged.

“Hello.”

“Hi Meghan, this is Dr. Reid. How are you?” why is he calling.

“I’m good.”

“Good, so I just got all your test results back and there are some things that I want to talk to you about, I have no appointments this afternoon can you come to the office around 1?”

“Uh, yeah sure. I’ll see you then.”

The doctor and I hung up and my heart was going a mile a minute.

“What the hell.” I said out loud.

“What’s wrong?” James had the look of worry in his eyes.

“I have to go back to see Dr. Reid, something is wrong.”

“What time is your appointment?” he asked.

“1.”

“I’ll come pick you up after practice and I’ll come with you.”

“That would be great.” I went over and kissed him.

I was sitting on the exam table and said nothing to James; a million things were running through my mind.

I heard the door open and the doctor walked in.

“You must be James.” The doctor asked.

James stood up and shook his hand.

“So, I got your results back and I discovered that you have low ovarian reserve.” He said.

What the hell does that mean?

“Ok, I have no idea what that means.”

“It means that there is a reduced number and quality of eggs, which results in fewer embryos and lower pregnancy rates.”

My heart dropped.

“So basically what this means is that there is a slim chance that you will be able to get pregnant.”

My eyes filled up with water.

“There are some options that you can take when you and James are ready to have children like IVF. But the older you get the harder it will be.”

A tear came from my eye.

“If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to get a hold of me.”
Once Dr. Reid left the room, I burst into tears. Immediately James came and pulled me into his arms.

“Everything will be ok Meghan…everything will be ok.”
