Come Closer

Bzzz…Bzzz

“Jesus Christ” I heard my phone go off, looked at the clock and realized that it was 7:30am.

Bzzz…Bzzz

I looked at my phone which was vibrating violently, a text from Khloe.

Khloe – Hey doll, how are you feeling? If you’re up to it you should come to Paul’s and have some breakfast before practice. James is here ;)
Meghan – Yeah I’ll be over soon, I need the address.

Khloe sent me the address, I got up put my hair in a ponytail, put on a little eyeliner and mascara, threw on some Lulu’s and a plain black hoodie.

After plugging the address into the GPS on my phone, I was headed over to Paul Martin’s housefor something to eat.

As soon as I pulled up James was leaning against the door waiting for me. He was wearing a pair of sweat pants that molded perfectly to his body and a Pens hoodie with hair that was clearly a mess, he looked pretty good for getting a little drunk at the bar last night.
“How are you feeling?” he asked as I was walking toward him.

“Not bad, just a little bit of a head ache, nothing a few Advil and breakfast can’t fix.”

I reached the door and I could hear Paul and Khloe laughing inside the house.

“Do you know what happened with them last night?” I whispered to James as he closed the door behind me. “No idea, they were getting hot last night so I assume…”

“---MEGHAN!!! Hi how was the rest of your night?” Khloe asked as she ran up to me and gave me a huge hug like she hadn’t seen me in 100 years.

“Hey Khloe, Hey Paul! How was YOUR night…?” Khloe and Paul looked at eachother with a huge grin of each of their faces. “Ahh yes, the faces say it all!”

“Hungry?” Paul asked me as he brought me a plate of toast and scrambled eggs.
“Very, thanks for making breakfast, you didn’t have to.” I thanked him as he out my plate downin front of me. “Well, since I make it for James every day, what are two extra people” he said rubbing Khloe’s back as he walked by.

After breakfast Khloe went back upstairs to Paul’s room to change into the clothes she wore last night, and Paul wasn’t too far behind.

“I was expecting you to text me last night” James said as he pulled up a chair beside me, our knees almost touching.

“I didn’t know I was supposed to” I said looking at him sarcastically. “Why didn’t you text me?”

“I didn’t want to wake you in case you were sleeping.” he looked at me and put his face close to mine.

“I have two extra tickets to the game tomorrow night, if you and Khloe interested?” he asked me.

“Yes! It will be just like old times” I said, we were almost about to kiss when Khloe came down the stairs.
“You ready?” I asked pulling away trying not to make the moment awkward.

Next thing I know it’s 10 in the morning, time to get moving.

“Sorry to have to run boys but we have to get to practice and I want to get back to the hotel and change, thanks again for breakfast Paul, so good!” I said hugging him. “No worries” he looked at me and smiled.
Paul and Khloe shared one last kiss before we headed out.

Just as we were about to leave, James pulled me in close and kissed me on the forehead.
“See you at the game” he whispered in my ear.

“Spill” I said to Khloe as we got into the car and put on our seat belts. “What happened last night? And by the way, don’t ever leave without telling me, I almost had a heart attack not knowing where you were!” I said getting a little upset.

“Well…where do I start, pretty much the only thing I remember was making out with Paul at the bar and going back to his place…and I woke up this morning naked and laying on his chest, so I assumed we had sex.” She told me with a smile on her face.

“YOU LIKE HIM!” I said turning onto the freeway, “I’m just glad that you made it somewhere safe and not in some bums dorm room.

“Do you know what happened with everyone else?” she asked checking Twitter and Instagram seeing the pictures of last night’s events. “Well, everyone on the team got to the hotel ok, I asked the receptionist at the desk when I got in.” turning to her every few seconds to look at her.

A few seconds passed and she turned to me “Ok, enough about Paul or the team did anything happen with you and James?” she said to me with a serious look on her face.

“No, we just talked a little, laughed at all the drunk people around us, but when I was leaving he told me that I looked really good.” I said with a tiny grin on my face. “oh and we are going to the Penguin game tomorrow night, James said he had two extra tickets.”

“That’s exciting, more hockey players for me to look at” Khloe said.

When Khloe and I got back to the hotel we knocked on everyone’s door telling them to get up and head to the gym where Jeff Anderson is meeting us to train. Khloe and I got changed into volleyball workout gear and headed to the lobby. One-by-one the girls came out of the elevator looking like shit. I just shook my head and told them that they better not throw up on the gym floor.
