Come Closer

Khloe and I stopped at the fertility clinic after we did some shopping and picked up the sterile plastic container for James’ little warriors. Today was the day, I was finished my hormone shots and was ready for the egg extraction.

We found out that James has two options on collecting the sperm. He can either do it at the office or do it at home. James obviously decided to do it at home.

“James, where are you?” I yelled as I walked into the house. “It’s time.”

He was in the kitchen drinking a bottle of water.

“Alright well here goes nothing.” I gave James the container, kissed him and pointed up the stairs.

“One thing before you go.” I ran up to the spare bedroom where my boudoir book was and came down to give it to him.

“What is this?” he asked.

“Just wait till you get upstairs.” I winked at him, handing him the book.

He kissed me and headed up the stairs and closed the door behind him.

“All we do is wait.” I said as Khloe and I sat on the couch and waited.

20 minutes had passed and I heard the door open and James came down stairs.

“What time is it?” he asked coming down the stairs and handed me the paper bag and wrote the time on it.

“How was it.” I asked.

“The most weirdest thing I have ever done.”

“That is so gross.” Khloe came over and looked in the bag.

“Um Khloe, you don’t need to look in the bag.” I said standing at the counter.

“I was just curious.” She said laughing.

“Sick fuck.” James said.

“Ok, we need to go now.” I said.

All three of us got into the car and went to the clinic.

Right when we got there James pretty much ran to the front desk and gave her the paper bag.

We waited in the waiting room for a few minutes before the nurse called me in.

“You are allowed to have 2 people in the room with you.” The nurse said as I pointed at Khloe and James.

I was given a hospital gown and a hair net, I sat in the room and looked at all the needles and tubes that will remove everything.

“I’m glad I won’t be feeling that.” I said to Khloe and James sitting beside me.

The nurse came in and started an IV and put in the asthenic which made me really sleepy and drowsy, it’s kind of like getting your wisdom teeth pulled except you don’t get the gas mask.

Just around 5 minutes I heard the doctor ask if I was ready and I told him that I was and I don’t remember anything after that.

I woke up in a bit of a daze. I was still at the clinic but I was in another room. I saw James and Khloe sitting beside me.

“Good morning sunshine.” Khloe said getting up and hugging me.

“How was it?” I asked stuttering a little.

“Pretty much the grossed thing I have ever seen.” Khloe said. “They stuck tubes and cameras in you and it was just gross.”

“I almost got sick.” James said kissing me.

“Did you really?”

“It was pretty gross.”

“Good morning Meghan!” the doctor came in. “How are you feeling?”

“Good, just tired.” I said.

“Well everything went really well, everything looks good. Come back on Friday and we will implant them.” He said.

“It will only be Khloe and I coming, this one has some away games.” I pointed at James.

“Sounds good, the nurse will be in a minute to unhook you. See you Friday Meghan.” He left the room.

The nurse came in seconds later and un hooked me, and I was good to go.

I got up and felt really sore down there and I walked really slowly.

“Ha! No more needles for me!” I said when we got back to the car.

It was Friday morning and I was mentally prepared for this. James left for Tampa Bay yesterday and will be back on Sunday after a game against Anaheim.

“Dude, I’m worried for you.” Khloe said as she was putting everything in her purse.

“Why?”

“I want you to get pregnant so bad.”

“Me to Khlo, I’m prepared for this though.”

“You’re definitely stronger than I am.”

Just as we were on our way to the clinic, James phoned me.

“Hey babe, you nervous?” he said when I answered the phone.

“A little, just want to get this over with honestly.”

“Everything will be fine, call or text when you’re done with all the details’ love you.”

“You’re still sure you want to implant 2 and not 1.”

“Honey, the more the better.” He said as we hung up.

We got to the clinic…again and was met by the doctor.

“Meghan, there were 2 embryos are healthy and ready to go, I understand that you want to implant 2?” he said.

“Yeah, that sounds good.”

I got back into a hospital gown and sat in the chair and was ready.

“Ok doctor, let’s do this.”

“I have to lay here for an hour?” I asked the doctor right after the implantation.

“Just want to make sure everything is good.” He said. “I’ll come and see you in a while.”

“Khloe can I have my phone please?” I asked her as she sat down beside me.

“How are you feeling?” She asked.

“Good, little sore though. It will be worth it I’m sure.”

I dialed James’ number and he picked up almost immediately.

“How was it?” he said answering the phone.

“Alright, I didn’t really feel anything but they make me lay in bed for an hour. I might get restless.”

“It will all be worth it, when do you take the test?” he asked.

“I have to wait 2 weeks before I come back in and take a blood test.” I said.

“That’s good, anyway babe I got to go… game time, take it easy ok.”

“I’ll do my best.” And we hung up.

For the rest of the hour I spent playing flappy bird and going through Twitter and Instagram.
“Meghan I have to ask you something.” Khloe said.

“What’s up?”

“Seeing you go through all this it got me thinking.”

“Ok…” I said, worried.

“If I don’t find anyone to spend my life with I might do the whole sperm donor thing…I know that sounds weird but I want kids too, and I don’t want to be old and crusty.” She said.

“Well…if that’s what you want to do then I’ll stand and by you 100%, but just so you know this procedure is not cheap. James and I dropped over 10 grand on this.”

“I know, I just…Uh” she got up and started pacing around the room. “Imagine how cool it would be to have our kids play around with each other, our husbands drinking beer in the back yard and us in the kitchen making vegetable skewers for the BBQ.”

“Khloe…”

“And if I don’t find a husband then I am going to be the one third wheeling you and James, I don’t want that.”

“Khloe, everything will be fine. I promise. Be patient and good things will come.” I said. “If you want to get a sperm donor or whatever then I’ll support you.”

“I have to tell you something and you can’t get mad.” She said sitting back down beside me.

“Promise.”

“I have started talking to Brad again…apparently it didn’t work out between them and he said he’s changed.”

“Uh Khloe, I don’t think so….” I said sitting up. “When did this start happening?”

“When you went home last time, when you brought Giselle.” She said. “You’re mad aren’t you?”

“I’m not mad, I’m just wondering why you would go through that again, I’m just nervous for you.”

Saved by the bell, the doctor came back into the room telling me that I can leave; he gave me papers on what to do before the blood test and let us leave the clinic.

“I’m not mad Khloe, I just don’t want to see you get hurt again. But honestly if it’s what you really want to do and you think he’s changed then I’ll support you but I don’t want to be saying I told you so if things don’t work out.” I said when we got into the car.

“I want to have what you and James have… Real love.” Khloe said with a tear in her eye.
