Hello Again

Rehearsal Dinner

The day before the wedding, I can’t believe it. This week has been one of the toughest weeks I have ever been through for work and as a friend of Jamie’s trying to get everything and keep the bride under control and happy and tomorrow the whole thing will be over. It’s been a stressful few months and very emotional but I need to power through today and tomorrow then I can breathe.

“Bradley! Where the hell is your tie!?” Jamie yelled from her bedroom. Brad was in my room desperately looking for his tie to keep his fiancée happy. “I know I had it babe I swear! Do you know where it is?” “Did you check in the guestroom in the closet where your tux’s are?” I asked. “No. I’ll do that now!” he ran off to the guest room, “I got it!” I couldn’t help but laugh and adjust my earring. I placed the tux’s in the guest room for the bed and breakfast that we are all staying at for the next few nights. The boys have one house and the girls have the other.

“So on a positive note, Brad found his tie but we can’t find Tyler’s for tonight!” Jamie yelled freaking out. “Girl, we have time. I’m going to have Brad bring down the tux’s to the limo and put them there, you go with him, and I’ll help Tyler. Bring what you need down to the limo. Take a deep breath and relax.” “Thanks girl, I’m freaking the fuck out!” “I know, remember it’s my job to take care of this, you just need to relax. Now get your ass downstairs so we can leave and have fun okay?” “I don’t know what I’d do without you,” she smiled, carrying out her shoes for the night.

I knocked on Tyler’s bedroom door, knowing he was getting changed since he is the king of procrastination. “Come in!” he yelled out. When I opened the door he was putting on his button up shirt. He had chosen to wear a nice grey dress shirt and a black tie. We didn’t want to stick with traditional “wear the wedding colours at the rehearsal dinner” type thing so we went with completely different colours. His pants were undone and his short was side open, and he was trying to fix the collar on his shirt. It was unbelievably sexy the way his hair was gelled, the smell of his cologne coming off of his body, seeing his sexy abs through his shirt and seeing his boxers through his undone pants. Snap out of it Kylie, you need to help him get ready!

“Need some help?” I smirked, knowing this would happen. “Yes please,” he said with his belt in his mouth. “You take care of your pants and I’ll do your shirt!” We both fiddled with his body for about two minutes, constantly running into each other’s hands. At one point Tyler said, “This reminds me of after we would have quickie’s,” with a giant smirk on his face. I just rolled my eyes and gave him a look, causing him to chuckle. He was right though; I loved getting him ready like this, usually because he would be so cute and tickle the crap out of me to make it longer.

“That’s why I told you to take care of your pants, I didn’t want you to get too excited to have a girls hand near your crotch,” I smirked back, taking his tie and doing it up for him quickly. “I would not get too excited. That’s you! When’s the last time you had anything like that happen?” he smirked. Don’t get into an argument, please not before the wedding, I thought. “With you actually. Then again, I didn’t fuck the girl who kept yelling, ‘bad call goalie, you suck!’ and ‘I’m a bad bunny!’.” “Hey, she was great in bed!” “And annoying as fuck. She thought the ref was called a goalie and sounded like she swallowed a squeaky toy,” I shot him a look. “Either way, she was a great time.” “Ugh, you are such a hockey player. Go get the tux’s and let’s go!” I said, running out to get my shoes.

When we got to the bed and breakfast where the wedding was going to be held, we unloaded the limo and I ran around to make sure we knew where everything was. The houses were gorgeous and added to the east coast vibe that we had wanted. Brad said it reminded him of his hometown in a way, and Jamie loves the country side of things so it was the perfect location for the ceremony. The girls house was definitely feminine and classic, and the males was a little more masculine. I was impressed at all of the decorations. My mom and sisters came down to attend the wedding and help me run the big day tomorrow since I’ll be running around doing maid of honour stuff as well, so once I see they are here I can take a step back.

“Okay girls, we need to go downstairs and get ready to run through the day! Jamie, where the heck are your parents!?” I yelled. “I think they’re at the parents’ house,” she said, walking up next to me very calmly. “Is it bad I forgot that we even had a house for the parents?” I asked, laughing my ass off with Jamie after she slapped me. “You’re the worst wedding planner ever!” she teased me. “I quit!” I joked, throwing a tissue box on the floor. “Oh you’re so manly! Hurting a poor tissue box!” “Eat my shit!” I laughed, throwing it at her. She just ran over and tackled me, causing us to wrestle on the floor and die of laughter. “If only Brad saw what his fiancée was doing right now,” Mack laughed, walking by us.

We walked outside and lined everybody up, my mom and sisters weren’t there yet so it was all me trying to plan it. We had a group discussion where I told everyone what the plan was. We had Brad just walk up from the side and he just stood there with the minister. Brad’s parents Bob and Carol were busy taking pictures of the whole event, it was adorable. Then we had Mackenzie and Brandon walk down arm in arm, which they couldn’t stop laughing the entire time. Natalie and Tyler Brown were close to follow, then Jason and Sarah.

When it was Tyler and I’d turn I could see him actually attempting to do a good job. It was sweet how he held my arm and wanted to be in sync with me as we walked down, claiming that it would look more elegant. We had Brad’s niece Ava run down the aisle, since she really didn’t want to walk and it was Jamie’s turn. After a run through of the ceremony and a lot of joking around, as usual. And now, it’s time to party.

We planned on going to the small restaurant on the property of the bed and breakfast, which was across the massive field behind some trees down a little trail lit by twinkly lights. By this time it was getting near sunset and we had invited the amount of close friends and family from both sides to the dinner. It was so elegant and gorgeous, the set up was absolutely divine and I was so impressed. Everyone was busy socializing and having a great time. Tyler and I were busy running around, making sure to say our hellos as well, which was slightly awkward but we understood it was for a good cause. The night even flew by!

When it was time to go, we couldn’t pull Jamie and Brad apart. It was adorable actually. We gave them their space to say goodbye as did the other couples. We didn’t want any of them seeing each other before the wedding just to add some fun to it. Tyler and I just stood there watching them all in the freezing cold. It was windy and we were in the middle of the field waiting to walk back to the houses. “Why don’t we just walk to the houses and say goodbye there?” Nat shivered, cuddling into Browns. “Perfect idea! Let’s go!” I laughed, waving my arm.

My heels kept digging into the ground and I couldn’t move. “Are you good?” Tyler laughed at me, watching me struggle to watch. “Yeah, I’m just peachy,” I replied. “Do you need some help Kylie?” he smirked. “No, I’m good,” I said, struggling to walk again, getting stuck and causing Tyler to laugh at me. “Come here you big baby!” he laughed, taking my arm and escorting me to the house like a gentleman would, a very kind gesture.

At the house we watched the couples say goodnight to each other yet again, and yet again, Tyler and I stared on awkwardly from a distance. He noticed me shivering and threw his arm around me, pulling me in ever so slightly, rubbing my arm up and down trying to warm me up. He even placed the hair back behind my ear from the bun it was in as it fell loosely. “Are we gonna have a cute little good night saying?” he asked pathetically. “Why?” “To feel like we belong,” he chuckled. “Just hug each other!” Brad laughed, in his drunken state. I sucked it up and told him a good night, and he kissed my cheek. Maybe I wasn’t ready for that part yet but I still appreciated the thought.

Once everyone was in their beds, Jamie and I went into ours and we just laid there talking about life. How far we have come as people and how this whole experience has come along. It was a nice and refreshing talk, except for when she brought this one part up. “You and Tyler looked like you were getting close today, I saw you two together a lot.” “Meh, it was just to be polite, we had to say hi to everyone togetherto make things less awkward.” “His arm was around you almost the entire night Kyls!” “Yeah, it was just to be polite!” I laughed. “Think you’re gonna get back together?” “I doubt it, we’re too hot and cold.” “If you say so Kyls. I think you’ll end up together one day and have cute little Seguin babies,” she mumbled, laying down and getting comfy in bed. “You’re just experiencing wedding fever. Go to bed Mrs. Almost Marchand,” I smiled.
