Hello Again

For the Friends

The wedding is a week away and we couldn’t be more stressed. Jamie had her bridal shower a month ago so we were busy sending her thank you cards and getting everything ready for the wedding. We have so much to do and I can’t be anymore stressed. I have everyone doing different tasks to help and I left the simplest things for the girls back home. Jamie has been a nervous wreck and has been stressing Brad out. She’s worried about every little thing that could go wrong and I feel like I should be there for her more than I have been but I need to get this done.

Brad took Jamie out on a date night tonight to relieve her stress and his (in more ways than one) and Tyler and I have been at the house. I’ve been sitting in the middle of the floor putting together the centre pieces for the tables. I’ve gotten two done so far and it’s taken me ten minutes and I need to get these done tonight. I was fixing the strap on the vase when Tyler walked by eating an apple. He was looking so hot in his tank top, shorts and backwards baseball hat.

“What are you doing?” he asked taking a bite. “Trying to do these centrepieces, you?” I asked, focusing on the strap. “I don’t know, I was thinking of going out with Krystal for the night but I’m not too sure now. I’m not really in the mood to go out tonight. What are you doing?” he walked over, taking a peek at the work I was doing. “Just trying to get these centrepieces done.” “Huh.” He leaped over the back of the couch and his body slammed down as he landed, he flipped on the TV. He spent his sweet time watching some show and watching me struggle at the same time. It wasn’t until forty-five minutes flew by before he said something.

“How long does it take you to make one of those?” “Well to get everything to perfection, around five minutes. I’m having a hard time holding the straps on and the sparkle bead things in so I can glue them in properly. It’s getting pretty frustrating.” “I can tell,” he said, putting his focus back on the television screen. After another minute of watching me struggled he came out and asked, “Would you like some help?” “If you don’t mind, you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You shouldn’t have to feel obligated to help,” I laughed. “Well, you seem to be struggling and I feel bad. Plus I am the best man and I should do something other than help plan the bachelor party.” “Then pull up a seat!”

He sat down with me and I showed him what to do. “You know, we actually planned a great bachelor and bachelorette party. Like I feel proud we pulled that off,” he said casually. “I’m surprised they didn’t see it coming!” “I’m surprised Brad was able to have fun after our loss.” “Let’s be real, I was surprised you were able to still party after that loss.” “Well it was for my best friend’s bachelor party and it was a great distraction.” “It was a great stress reliever too.” “Oh I could tell! You were having an absolute blast,” he winked. “Oh shut up. I’ve taken care of your drunken ass too you know.” “You were a whole other person! I was shocked,” he laughed. I couldn’t help but sit there and blush.

“Did you try and hit on any guys that night?” “Heck no! I think I kissed a girl at one point though,” I blushed. “What else is new!? Was it Jamie?” “Probably. Well, I don’t know. I don’t remember,” I giggled. “It’s all good. I turned you into a lesbian,” he smirked. My jaw dropped, I don’t know how to react and he knew that. “I was just kidding Kyls, don’t worry.” “Alright if you say so,” I said in a low tone. Things were going good until that comment was made.

“Speaking of girls however though, are you bringing a date to the wedding or the rehearsal dinner?” “Uh, no actually.” “What? The Tyler Seguin doesn’t have a date to his best friend’s wedding!?” “Nope!” he chuckled, “I’m just gonna roll solo, it’s easier that way since she’d have to sit at the date table and all. You bringing a anyone?” “Nope, going solo as well.” I nodded. Well this conversation just turned slightly awkward.

Shortly after we were finished making the centrepieces I decided to move them to spare room and head to bed. Tyler helped be carry them and everything. “Thank you so much for helping tonight Tyler, I really appreciate it.” “No problem. I had no plans and I thought you needed the help. Anything for our friends right?” he asked with his arms open, making reference to our conversation months ago about getting along for the wedding. “You’re right,” I smiled. “Night Kylie,” he said, walking to his room. “Night,” I waved, shutting off the light and going to my room.
