I see a red door and I want it turned black and gold.
Ice to meet you.
Listening to Carrie Underwood is just what I need to get me pumped up for some ice time. I am new to town so I didnt know anyone else at the rink so I thought it best just to put on my iPod and listen to the music that got be pumped up. When I just did some warm up skating I looked around and there were tons of Pittsburgh Penguins stuff on the wall. Having just moved to town from Michgian where I was a big Red Wings fan I even had a couple shirts and even a personalized jersey signed by I favorite goalie Osgood. So when I looked around I was so opposed, but I had to remember that I was not in Michigan anymore. If any of my friend were with me they would so make some comments towards it but I was here to get some ice time in, I just pushed it away.
I had about a good two hours of practice in when I decided to call it a night. I started school tomorrow and I met with the my new coach for softball. When I was putting my street shoes on I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked back and there was this girl about my age who was smiling me. I took paused my iPod and took my ear phones in.
Hi, you must be new here. I am Leigha Bass. Now why did Leigha Bass sound so similar to me?
Yea, I just moved into town this week and I am trying to get into a routine. My name is Addison Michaels.
Would like to grab a cup of coffee or something? We can talk about skating.
Sounds good, I can follow you in my car or we can take one? I smiled grabbing my things.
Well, I dont have my car with me. My husband dropped my off today, so if you dont mind. Can we take you car?
Sure, follow me. I led the way to my car and we put our stuff in my trunk.
I dont know where to go. Can you tell me?
Sure. Leigha helped me to this local hot spot that I guess has get coffee. At least that is what Leigha told me. When we walked in, Leigha grabbed a coffee and I grabbed a mint tea, we grabbed a table that was all by its self in a corner but it was comfy.
So, what brought you to Pittsburgh? she asked me.
Well, I just finished two years at community where I got some of my gen eds done. But, I came here to become an EMT because University of Pittsburgh has one of the best programs. And I kind of needed out of Michigan.
We talked for about two hours and we found out we have a lot in common. We love hockey, we love skating, singing, and writing. She is a Pens fan and I am a Red Wings fan with a crush on a Pens player. She is married to a Pens player (Staal). We are training for the 2014 Winter Olympics. And we made plans for the weekend, we are going to a free skate with her husband and a couple of friends. We also exchanged numbers so we could keep in touch.
Do you need a ride home?
No, my apartment is not far from here. I need the walk. But, thank you. I will see you on Saturday if not earlier at the rink. Text or call me if you need anything hun. We hugged and went our separate ways.
Once I got home I took a shower and went to bed.
