Alive [CONTINUED]

The End

"You're kidding me." Vero frowned.

Marc's expression was the exact same. The Bulldogs made it to the semifinals. The semifinals were on the same day as their prom. At the same time. Marc had decided that he needed to tell Vero before anyone else found out. She took a deep breath.

"This is the shittiest thing ever." Vero cried. "Myself and all the girls already bought our dresses."

"I'm sorry, babe."

"Why is everyone so sad?" Ainsley asked as she made her way into the kitchen.

Sidney walked in behind her. He stayed the night. He was already aware of the semifinals falling on the same day as prom. He met Marc's eyes. Marc gave him a look. Sid let out a quiet breath, wrapping his arms around Ainsley. She furrowed her brows at her brother who was just eyeing Sid.

"I have some really shitty news." Sidney spoke.

"What is it?" Ainsley asked as she turned to face him.

Well, you know how we made it to semis?" He began. She nodded. "Our game is the same day as prom."

Ainsley face fell. "Well, I'm obviously coming to the game." She stated.

"What about your dress?" Vero pouted.

"Next time." Ainsley smiled.

The rest of the girls didn't take it as lightly as Ainsley did. Some were mad, some were sad, but none were happy. Sure, they were stoked the guys made semis but they'd rather have their boyfriends taking them to prom. They all sat around at Felicia's while they waited for the guys to finish their practice.

"So what do we do? Just mope in our dresses that night?" Felicia hissed.

"Show up at the game in them." Kristen joked.

"That's a great idea." Vero spoke.

"What?" Jocelyn furrowed her brows.

"Show up at the game in our dresses." Vero grinned.

"Vero, that's so lame." Selena shook her head.

"No! We go in our dresses with the boys' jerseys over them." Vero explained.

"Why would we do that?" Ainsley quizzed.

"Because then they'll see how much we support them." Vero pointed out.

"And we get to wear our dresses." Valerie sang.

"I think that's so cute. We should totally do it!" Kaitlyn exclaimed. "We can make signs that say shit like 'skipped our prom for hockey'. People would love it."

"Half the team is gonna make fun of us." Kristen rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, the single ones." Felicia added.

"I'm in." Ainsley nodded. "I'll actually do it."

And that they did. The day of the semis, the girls did everything they would have for their prom. Hair, make up, and nails were done. They all put on their gowns and their boyfriends' jerseys. They were actually going out like that. Kaitlyn had talked Jocelyn and Felicia into making signs with her. It was embarrassing to an extent, but this was for their boyfriends. They didn't care.

The guys were completely oblivious to what was happening. They had a slow warm up. The ones who had girlfriends were bummed. They all wanted to take their girls to prom, but they understood a game was a game. They filed into the change room. Coach gave them a speech. It cheered most guys up a bit but not as much as he had wanted. Back on the ice they went. Tyler laughed as he looked up to the stands.

"You guys need to check out the fans." He explained, gesturing to the stands.

The entire team looked over. There stood the eight girls they had become accustomed to always being around, standing in dresses with jerseys over top. A few held signs while the others just waved. It was the motivation they needed.

After the Bulldogs killed it in semis with a 9-0 win, the girls waited outside the change room. Many people had taken pictures of them, amused by what they were doing. They were living up the attention. The guys came out of the change room, one by one. Each guy with a girlfriend made their way to her. The girls received their share of laughs.

"Would've never expected you to do something so sweet." Sid mocked as he pulled Ainsley into him.

She smirked. "It was all Vero. I just went along with it to show everyone how good I looked in my dress." Ainsley stated, pretending to flip her hair.

"The only person that should be looking at you in that dress is me." He whispered before he pecked her lips.

"Thank you, V." Marc said as Vero approached him.

She rolled her eyes, giving him a kiss. Ainsley made gagging noises from behind them. Sidney covered her mouth. She licked his hand.

"Who's up for the last hour of prom?" Jake called, cocking a brow.

The last hour of their prom was invaded by sweaty hockey players. The team and the girls danced nonstop for the last hour. It wasn't the prom they'd expected but it was prom, regardless. The night ended on a good note and the next week was nothing but good. The Bulldogs had an upcoming championship game that they had to get ready for.

Everyone was nervous. The boys wanted there championship more than anything. The girls wanted them to get it as well. The game wasn't what was expected. The Bulldogs went from a two point lead, to a two point tie, to losing by one point. In the final period, they added to their to score for the final. They won 7-3. As the time ran down, equipment started to fly. They won.

The girls filed onto the ice. Kaitlyn ran to Patrick. He lifted her in the air as he kissed her. He had gotten two goals that game. He held her tight before setting her down. All the guys greeted their girlfriends as they made it to them.

"So who's throwing a party?" Morgan grinned.
