"My parents met in Lake Placid, my dad a player on the Miracle on Ice Team, getting drafted by the Oilers the year before. He was an ordinary Brooklyn Boy who had natural talent and got a ticket out of there. He was about to start his Freshman year at Boston University when the USA National Commitee gave him an invite to Colorado Springs, and that's when it all started. My mom was a hockey fan growing up rooting for the Rangers, just like my dad. During the 1980 USA Olympics in Lake Placid, New York they met and fell in love. My mom following my dad from Edmonton, LA, to NY their home with three sons Brendan, Brady and Tucker on her hips and scrunched on her leg, their last and final child Caroline (me) being born months after the Rangers won the cup. It was the classic hockey romance, one Caroline strived for. This is her life,her beginning to win the Cup in NY

• (2009-2010) "Caroline get the fuck up, we have to leave." Caroline wanted to just die. "GO AWAY Brendan your like so annoying." Caroline's older brother Brendan was standing over her with a hockey stick in his hand. "What are you going to stab me if I don't get up, or spear me?" Caroline was scared. Every summer the Thomas's left Fairfield County, CT the area where they settled down with their kids after Marcus got traded from LA to NY and they split their summers in Thunder Bay, Ontario where they hung out with their Family friend's the Sharps, Pyatt's and Staal's and near by and Hastings, Minnesota where they hung out with the Stepan's, Gardiners and McDonaghs. From when school ended in the Spring/early summer until around July 4th in Minnesota and the rest of the time in Thunder Bay, but Thunder bay bordered Minnesota so they practically made trips every weekend.

• • She didn't want to leave Thunder Bay at all, she didn't want to start Freshman year of High school, and go to her Connecticut Whale tryout that Glen Sather, the GM of the Rangers and Brendan's team got her. She would be the first ever girl in the AHL. "No I am staying here, with Henry and Linda! And Nelson!" Brendan shook his head. "You'll be fine! A lot of the guys I know are on the Whale, they'll love you. And you got Del Z, and Carl Hagelin whose nice, and the new goalie Cam Talbot."
  • Michael Del Zotto, a player on the Rangers and Brendan's best friend always came to Thunder bay with his group of best friends Steven Stamkos, John Tavares, Alex P from the blues and Cody Hodgson. "Okay I'll get ready." Caroline got up from her bed and took off her dad's old 94 jersey that she wore to bed, she loved the smell of sweat and hockey off and put it on her bed. "How the fuck am I supposed to tape my sticks without tape." She shook her head and started throwing her equipment into Connecticut Whale hockey bags that were mailed to her this summer. "Well well are you scared or are you scared? The guys are all saying goodbye uber goober so come downstairs and say goodbye to us." Marc Staal one of many of Caroline's godfathers and best friends said. "I am not saying goodbye to you loser, just Tucker to Chicago, alongside Sharpy, then the two stanley cup idiots Brady and Jordan to Pittsburgh, Taylor to Phoenix, Tom to Hamilton who I think the Whale play soon, then Eric to Carolina, and Jared what is jared doing?" Caroline realized she had 8 brothers wow. "And when is Del Zotto coming for our flight out?" DZ, Marc, Brendan and Caroline were supposed to be on a flight to New York in less then 2 hours. "I don't know but come fucking down to say goodbye to everyone loser." She shook her head as she packed all her belongings into a backpack and two hockey bags knowing she had more at the guys apartment in Soho. As soon as everyone said there goodbyes knowing that by Christmas break they would be back in the same place she got scared, what happened if she got cut from the whale? No Hockey... Over the last couple weeks Michael and Caroline had gotten closer so it would only make sense that they sat together on the plane while Brendan and Marc best friends sat together. Caroline grabbed her laptop and earphones out of her backpack. "Miracle or Step up? Gross you know it's Miracle." Caroline said smirking as she put the earphones into her laptop and put her legs across Michael's lap even though the arm rest separator was annoying. "I can't watch it if your legs are on me." Michael said smirking, their hands knotted together. Hopefully Brendan didn't see. "Fine." Caroline took her legs off of him and under her as she put the movie in the middle. "It's awesome your dad is in this." Caroline smiled, she loved watching her "Dad" in it. "One kiss." Caroline and Michael also kissed a thousand times this summer in private doing it when Stammer, JT, Alex, Cody, Steps, Mac, The Staals, her brothers weren't watching them like hawks. "Fine one, before Brendan and Marc sit down in their seats." Caroline and Michael knew each other since birth, their families met in Thunder Bay when Caroline wasn't born yet. The Staal's introduced them and they had been close. She leaned in after him and their lips pressed together, fast and sweet. She loved how he tasted like vanilla and hockey equipment smell you can't air out. "You're going to do fucking amazing babe, I know it. And you've been hanging around the locker room forever, Brendan said the whole team is coming after our first day of training camp." She was scared. "And Dubi, Cally, Gaby, Marc, G, Sean, Boyler their all coming even Hanky." Michael said not letting go of her hand. Shit. Now she was even more nervous. What was going to happen? Her parents were awaiting them in their house, in the neighborhood she grew up in. And she was about to do big things in Hartford. One step away and one contract away from the Show. Fucking shit.
