Proving Everyone Wrong

Six

----Meg’s POV---

I awoke and still found myself high on adrenaline from last night’s game. I glanced to my left at my phone which looked like it was having a seizure on my nightstand. I grabbed it quickly and looked. “holy shit” I whispered as I realized I had seven missed calls and about thirty unread text messages. I grumbled and sat up and started sorting through my phone. Two missed calls from mom, one from dad, one from each of my little sisters, one from Tray, one from Coach Jay and one from an unknown number. I listened through the voicemails. The ones from my family and coach were congratulating me on my game last night and my season opener with UND. The one from Tray was about how he didn’t want to do the driving to the mall today and so I was going to have to wake up soon before he dragged me out of my dorm and forced the keys into my hand. Now for the unknown number. I listened but all I could make out was some annoying noise. Hmm must have been a buttdial. I deleted all the messages and hurried out of bed to get ready before Tray became serious with his threat of dragging me across campus to the parking lot. I sent him a text:

To Tray:

Hey meet me outside my dorm building in 20.

From: Tray

It’s about goddamn time you woke up! I was seriously about to come-a-knocking and drag you out! Hey by the way I have some news to tell you so that should be motivation to meet me in fifteen!

To Tray:

You suck and you are blessed I woke up at all to drive your ass to the mall!

From Tray:

Fourteen minutes 57 seconds…56 seconds…55seconds…

When I was completely ready I ran down the steps and out the front door and found Tray sitting on the bench with his eyes closed. I snuck up behind him and took this opportunity to take my lipstick from my purse but just as I was about to smear a bunch on his face, his eyes snapped open and he shot out of the bench looking at me in shock. “What on Earth were you going to do to me!?” he shouted in disbelief and horror. I innocently shrugged my shoulders while putting the cherry red color back in my purse.

On our way back from the mall Tray told me that a former UND player was coming back in a few weeks for a visit and to give some insight about the NHL to the guys. “Who is it?” I asked.

“Honestly, I have no clue. Coach wouldn’t tell me, he said that would ruin the fun.” He answered with it being evident in his tone that he was just as curious as me.

----Jon’s POV----

After looking through the papers last night I had gone to bed. Now that its morning I was looking at them again. Inside the envelope were some papers from my old school, UND and the Blackhawks organization. The papers said that in a few weeks time I was going to be going back to the college to pay the current team a visit and give them some info on the life of an NHL-er. I thought back to my time in college and remembered that Zach Parise had done the same thing for my team. Just then my phone buzzed telling me I had a new text message:

From Kaner:

Hey I’m going to the mall. Want to drive me?

To Kaner:

Seriously?

From Kaner:

Please!?

To Kaner:

I’ll be there in ten.

God he can be so lazy sometimes.

@RedRoselaura

I've suffered from some serious writers block. Additionally, I've been insanely busy. I'm going to try to work on it more when I get the file on my new computer. Thanks for the comment. It definetly motivated me, I kind of figured this story was off of everybody's radar by now and that no one would care if I continued or stopped. so thank you. And I will definetly get back to working on this :)
