It’s the morning before opening night for the Penguins. James is still at home in bed cuz he isn’t feeling that great. Morgan comes up to check on him. He wakes up to see Morgan sitting on the bed beside him.

Morgan - (Runs her fingers through his hair) Hey sweetie, how you feeling?
James - I’m ok not great but I’m ok.
Morgan - If you’re not feeling better in a couple days I’m taking you to the doctor and I don’t want you playing in tomorrow’s game.
James - I know baby the team doctor said I should rest.
Morgan - Is there anything I can do for you?
James - Just stay with me.
Morgan - Of course I will.

Morgan lays down on the bed next to James. He snuggles up to Morgan and goes right back to sleep. Morgan wraps her arm around James and goes right to sleep until later that afternoon. James wakes up and his condition is getting worse. Morgan calls Leslie and asks her if she can come to the house and look after JJ and Isabella while she runs James to the ER. Leslie tells Morgan she’ll be right there. A little while later Leslie shows up when Morgan and James leave for the ER. The doctors take James into one of the exam rooms. Morgan goes into one of the waiting rooms and calls Jordan just so she has someone to talk to.

Jordan - Hey what’s wrong?
Morgan - I’m at the hospital with James.
Jordan - Is everything ok?
Morgan - He’s really sick and isn’t getting any better. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.
Jordan - Did you need me to come up?
Morgan - No, I’ll be fine.
Jordan - Are you sure? I can if you need me to.
Morgan - It’s sweet that you’re worried about me.
Jordan - I just want to help you keep your mind off of James being sick.
Morgan - I know you do and I appreciate that you still care about me after all this time.
Jordan - Of course I still care. You maybe married to James now but a part of me still loves you.
Morgan - Hey I have to go his doctor just walked in.
Jordan - Ok, hang in there and call me anytime.

Jordan and Morgan hang up. James’s doctor tell Morgan that James has the classic symptoms of Mono. Morgan asks the doctor how to treat it once James is at home. The doctor tells her that James needs to rest, drink plenty of fluids, and to take Tylenol to help with any pain he is having and to break his fever. She also tells Morgan that he will not be playing any hockey for at least a month. Morgan asks is she can see James. The doctor allows Morgan to see James and leads her to his room. Morgan starts to cry when she sees James laying on a hospital bed with an IV heading into his arm. She goes into the room and sits in a chair near James’s bed. She moves it closer to the bed and starts holding his hand.

Morgan - James? I’m here baby. I’m so relieved you’re going to be ok. It would have killed me if something had happened to you. I’m going to take care of you until you’re feeling better. I love you so much James.

Morgan pulls her hand away and falls asleep. A little while later she’s startled when she feels James weakly reaching for her hand. She wakes up to see James looking at her.

James - Hey baby (weakly grabs Morgan’s hand)
Morgan - (Smiles as she runs her fingers through his hair) Hey there sweetie.
James - Thank you for staying here with me.
Morgan - I wouldn’t dream of being anywhere else.
James - I love you.
Morgan - I love you too. Just go back to sleep sweetie. You need to rest.
James - You’ll stay with me right?
Morgan - You bet I will.

James goes back to sleep. Morgan continues to hold James’s hand. She dig out her cell phone and sends Leslie a text saying James has to stay in the hospital overnight and that he has come down with Mono. In the text she also says they’ll be home in the morning. She falls asleep in the chair. She wakes up the next morning when James’s doctor comes in the room to check on him. His doctor tells James he can go home. Morgan leaves the room to deal with James’s release papers while James gets dressed. Morgan sends Leslie a text asking her if she can take JJ and Isabella with her so that they don’t get James’s illness. Morgan gets a text back from Leslie saying that she would be happy to take the kids to her apartment while James is recovering. Morgan goes back to James’s room to help him with his things. They get home and Morgan tells James to go up to bed. James goes up stairs to get ready for bed. He takes all the drugs his doctor told him to take. He gets into bed and is asleep a few minutes later. Morgan brings James up a glass of water for him to drink. She decides to sleep in the guest room so that she doesn’t get sick. She wakes up later that evening and goes down stairs to fix herself something to eat. She eats quick and then calls Leslie to see how her babies are.

Leslie - Hey, you doing ok?
Morgan - Just worried about James.
Leslie - Aww, I know you are. He’s tough he’ll get through this.
Morgan - I’ve just never seen him so sick before.
Leslie - Aww, any idea where he got Mono from?
Morgan - I’m guessing with all the travel he did last month he must have picked it up somewhere.
Leslie - That makes sense. I’m guessing you sent him to bed.
Morgan - Yes, he’s still sleeping. I’m going to go check on him when I go up to bed. I’m sleeping in the guest room so I don’t get sick either. It’s going to kill me not being able to cuddle with James.
Leslie - Aww, and I’m guessing you want to be intimate with him.
Morgan - Yes I do. These next few days are my fertile days for this month and we both want another baby.
Leslie - Aww, I figured you two wanted to try for another baby in the next few months.
Morgan - We’re putting that on hold now till James has fully recovered.
Leslie - Aww, well you two can still cuddle while he’s sick.
Morgan - Really?
Leslie - Of course you can. As long as his saliva doesn’t enter your mouth you won’t get sick.
Morgan - Strange that his doctor never told us this. So I assumed I should stay away from him till he’s better.
Leslie - Aww, no you can cuddle with him. As long as you don’t share utensils, drink from the same glass, or swap spit when you two kiss you’ll be fine.
Morgan - Good so I won’t go crazy while he’s recovering.
Leslie - Aww, I’m going to let you go so you can go check on James.
Morgan - How are my babies doing?
Leslie - They’re so well behaved.
Morgan - So they’re not giving you any trouble?
Leslie - No not at all.
Morgan - I’m going to go check on James.
Leslie - Ok, I’ll talk to you later.

The girls hang up. Morgan goes up stairs to check on James. She sees that he is still asleep. She gets ready for bed and then lays down on the bed beside James. She wraps her arms around James pulling him close to her so that they’re spooning with one another. She asleep a little while later until the next morning. James wakes up surprised to see Morgan is sleeping next to him.

James - I must be dreaming.
Morgan - (Wakes up to see James is now facing her and smiling at her) You aren’t dreaming.
James - Aren’t you going to get sick if you’re near me?
Morgan - Sweetie, Leslie told me we can cuddle and I’ll be fine. She told me Mono is spread through saliva. So no kissing till you’re better.
James - I guess that’s ok.
Morgan - Do you need anything?
James - Could you get me some more Tylenol?
Morgan - Sure honey do you need anything else?
James - I could use some more water.
Morgan - Ok, I’ll be right back.

James hands Morgan his water glass. Morgan goes down stairs to get James some more water. She comes back up stairs and then goes into the bathroom to get James some more Tylenol. She goes back into the bedroom to give him his water and pills. She goes back into the bathroom to wash her hands. She goes back into the bedroom. She lays down on the bed next to James. James snuggles up to Morgan and goes right to sleep. Morgan wraps her arm around James and goes right to sleep till later that night. Over the next few weeks pass and James is slowly starting to feel better. It’s now November and James is finally over his Mono and is able to practice with the team again but won’t play for a few more weeks yet.
