It's a Hockey Night in Pittsburgh!

James P.O.V
I was on the plane and we are going to Phoenix. The hard part is that Wrenn can't come with us. I took it hard on me that any of the players on the team. The team doesn't know yet about what's going on. Wrenn didn't want the team to worry about here. She wants them to focus on the games not her.
"Where Wrenn?" Geno ask.
"She still has headaches so the doctor to made her be on bed rest." Geno nodded his head.
"I miss her already." Sid was looking down at his phone reading something. When we landed in Phoenix, I called Wrenn to tell her that we landed.
"How was the flight?"
"Long, boring and everyone miss you. I was thinking since I am here in Phoenix. Do you want me to find your parents and tell them what's going on."
"No, what happen after Philly they don't really want to talk to me."
"But your their daughter they have to know. Does Wade even know?"
"Well I don't want them to know." Then she hung up the phone. That night I couldn't sleep at all, so I got up and walk around the hotel. When I walk down to the bar, I see that Pascal was sitting there alone.
"Hey Neal, can't sleep."
"Yeah I have a lot of things on my mind."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Well I don't know if I can talk about it. It's about someone that I can't tell anyone about."
"Does it have to do with Wrenn?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Come on man, everyone can see it in you two's eye. If the coach and Potash can see that you two love each other. We are all happy for you two." I place my hand on his shoulder.
"Now spill, I won't tell anyone. What's going on?" I have all these emotions of what's going on that I broken down before I could speak out. Pascal put his hand on top of my shoudler I took a deep breath.
"Something bad if you broke down before you can speak." I took a deep breath.
"The day before the game against Burins, I told Wrenn that I love her. Before I met her she was in a bad bad relationship with Claude Giroux. Got pregnant with a set of twin, had a miscarried and Claude wanted nothing to do with her. So after your interview with her, I wanted to know if she had the same feelings for her. When you know that she pass out, got the MRI. She did get some bad news."
"Well it's bad if you started to cry right in front of me. Can you tell me?"
"I will tell everyone before the game. Wrenn will kick my ass but I can't hold it anymore. Everyone needs to know." Once I got back to my room, hearing Geno snore kinda did help me go back to sleep. There was 10 minutes left before we go out there and win this game.
"Guys Neal has something to say." Coach nodded his head.
"Wrenn's going to kill me but she got the test back from the MRI and Wrenn has a brain tumor on her right side of the brain. Still don't know how bad and the change for to live." Everyone was in shock of how they took the news.
"Do you know how long until she finds out?" Brandon ask.
"The doctor said by the end of the week." Sid got up from the locker and came up to me.
"Wow, that's scary. I am sorry dude. She will beat the crap out of the tumor." He game me a hug.
"Now let's go and win this game for Wrenn!" Sid yelled.


Wrenn P.O.V
Wow I have a brain tumor, I am still shock of what's going on. I don't know what to do or think. My life went upside down. I am really healthy, I don't smoke, I workout, I drink a little now not in the beginning. Why me? I was watching the game and it was hard for me. I wanted to be there and wanted to do my job. I want to tell James that I love him. James did get the first goal in and Potash did text me saying that he was going to interview James. During the interview, I see something weird on his stick. Right next to his number 18, I see a letters and it was WZ. After they beat the Coyotes, I text James to ask if I was right of what I saw.
"Did I see on your stick WZ?"
"Yep I did that for you." I broke down crying because no one will never do that for me.
"You are not going to like me when I get home. I have to tell you when I get home."
"Ok, should I be worried?"
"No, don't be. You will be pissed at me for a while." Ok now I am worried. The doctor told me that I can't leave my house for a week because he doesn't want anything else to go wrong. With all the meds he gave me. I was getting sick from everything I try to eat. When I heard the door open, I could hear more than one voice. The voices become louder, when I walk down the stairs I see everyone was here and even Coach was here.
"Hey guys what are you doing here?" I ask.
"Remember when I said that your not going to like me when I get home?"
"Yeah."
"Well I told everyone." My heart stop when James told me the news. I wanted to kick James for doing that. I went down the stairs and walk up to James.
"I'm sorry guys, I just don't want to ruin everything."
"Well Wrenn, you help us a lot and you weren't at the game." Sid smiled.
"Team loves you." Geno came over and gave me a big hug.
"James did told us that you won't find out by Friday." Brandon gave me a hug.
"We are here for you no matter what." Duper gave me a hug. I almost wanted to cry but I have to show them that I am strong and nothing can't tear me down.
"I will ask the doctor if I could come to the game on Saturday when you play the Flyers. I want you to do me a couple of things. One, don't let them get under your skin. Two, be men not children and three just kick their ass for me." They all cheer and laugh. All of the rest of the team mates gave me hugs, Kris, Kuni, Coach and Craig gave me their wife's and girlfriend's numbers so if I needed.
"I do need food and I know that James won't go." They all look at him.
"What?" Geno look dead straight at James
"Lazy, store me go." He grab James' shoulder and left the house.
"Ok. That was weird." I text James what I want at the store. Some of the players stay to keep me company Beau, Sid and Sutter. Then I heard James and Geno coming in. They bought a lot of stuff.
"I think you could have bought some stuff not the whole store." I went through of what they bought. I see the stuff I text James to get me. When I went thorough a bag, I couldn't read any of the stuff.
"Geno I don't know any of this stuff. Is it all written in russian?"
"Yep, good for you."
"I don't know about that." Sid laugh. They did all help me put the food away. I was getting a little dizzy, they made me sit there and watch them do all of the rest.
"Is there a game on tonight?" I ask. Beau look down at his phone.
"Yeah it's Blackhawks VS Red Wings."
"I can make dinner for you guys."
"I'll help." Brandon came over to me. During the game Brandon was helping me with dinner. We were having salad, chicken and soup. The soup was for me. I was going to get the chicken out of the oven, when I felt someone's hands on my hip.
"Here I can get that for you." James had an oven mitt on. When he got out the chicken, I could hear his stomach growl. I laugh because I though that was cute.
"Where's Brandon?"
"I told him that he could watch the game."
"You don't know how to cook."
"Maybe you can show me." During the game, the game was tied. It was a really nice game. Everyone love dinner. Then I felt something wrong. I place my plate on the table and ran in the bathroom. I threw up my dinner. I know it's the meds are doing this to me. The doctor told me that it was going to happen tomorrow. It came a little to early. The door open and I see James coming in and sat down next to me. He was rubbing my back. I place my head on the rim of the toilet and I had to laugh.
"What's so funny?"
"I'm laughing because my head is laying on a toilet and I have James Neal rubbing my back. I think that's every girls' dream right now." He laugh a little.
"Tell the boys that I am not coming back to for the rest of the night. I am going to bed, my body needs to rest for Friday and Saturday." He kiss my forehead and I went to bed.

Wrenn
It was now Friday now and I will find out about what's going on with my life. If I am going to win or not. I just hope that I could go to the game on Saturday. Since coach know that I am going to find out on Friday, he let James have to day off so he can be with me. We were in the doctors office and I was watching James' knee bouncing up and down. I grab his knee and push it down.
"James, I am the same way but I can't focus when your knee is doing that."
"Oh, sorry. You know that I am here for you." He grabs my hand.
"Thank you and I need to give you that answer before what happen."
"James, I." Then got cut off when the door open and my doctor came in.
"Hello Wrenn, my name is Dr.Robert Gray. So we look more in your MRI and what we can look like your chance of living is about 75% of you going to make it." He nodded his head.
"Why, how long is it going to take?"
"Well with all the treatment we are going to give you. We got it at it's early peek and so it will be easier for me to help you. It might take up to 7 to 8 months to get ride of the tumor."
"When do I need to start the treatment?"
"Monday." He nodded again. I could feel that James wrap his arms around me. When we got in the car, I knew that James wants to tell everyone the good news of the whole thing. I know that I still have cancer, but the changes are high and I can fight it. James put the phone on speaker. He was calling Geno.
"Hello."
"G, put your phone on speaker."
"Say Hi." I could hear all of the guys speak back. James told them everything.
"Did you hear the number? 70%." James smiled. When we got back to our place, I wanted to sit on the couch and do nothing. While we were watching TV, during the commercial James put the TV on mute.
"I never ask you about your family."
"What is their to ask about them?" That's weird that he would ask that out of the blue.
"Well I know you know about my family already from what you read about them. I just want to know something more about you."
"Ok, 20 questions."
"1, When's your birthday?"
"April 16."
"2,What's your favorite color?"
“Royal Blue"
"3, Can you and Wade read each other's mind?
"No."
"4,Where are your parents?"
"Denver."
"Denver? I though you said they are in Phoenix."
"No, I was born and rise in Denver than move to Phoenix when I turn 18. By the way that was number 5."
"No it wasn't."
"Yeah it was, it was a question you just ask me about my parents."
"Fine,6. Biggest fear?"
"Losing trust."
"7, Any where in the world to vacation to?"
"Boar Boar, I never been to the ocean before."
"8, Night Owl or Morning person."
“I’ was a night owl now I am a morning person because of this job."
"9,Action or Comedy?"
"Comedy, I love to laugh."
"10, Who's a better kisser Me or Alex?"
"You." I had to laugh at that one.
"Why did he just ask that one?”
“Just wondering. Now 11, Favorite book you ever read?"
“Clockwork Angle."
"12,Movie?"
“21 Jump Street."
"13, Favorite food?"
"Sushi."
"14, Rain or hot days?"
"Rain."
"15, Family or Friends?"
"Friends."
"16, What part of the day you love?"
“Morning."
"17, Will I ever met your parents?"
"I don't know."
"18, Do you love me?"
"Yes I do."
"19, Are you scared about everything?"
"A little."
"20 now it's the last question are you ready for this one I am going to ask right now. Will you kiss me?"
"That would be a yes." I place my lips on to his.

James
In the morning of the game, I let Wrenn sleep in. Well since I think that Potash is going to give her time since what's going on with her. So I walk up to Pauly's house to have breakfast. He handed me the plate of eggs and toast.
"So how's Wrenn dealing with this?"
"She's doing well about everything. I mean she's a little scared because she has to do to the treatments on Monday. This stuff that they will have to do to her will change her life a little. I just don't know how I am going to deal with it. You know when we have away games. She will need someone to be there for her."
"This will be a perfect time for her during the game. She will be with the wife's and girlfriends. Wrenn will make friends and when that time comes. They will be there for her all the way."
After breakfast, I headed back home and I see that Wrenn was eating to. She was watching tv.
"How's Paul?"
"Good, when do you want to head to CEC?"
"When's the game start?"
"7, so I think 4. Would you mind at all." She nodded her head. When we got ready, I was wearing my nice suite and a purple tie. Wrenn was waiting for me in the kitchen, I walk out and when I saw her outfit you wouldn't guess that she had cancer. In the car, I couldn't stop looking at her.
"James I would love to live another day. So could you please have your eyes on the road." I laugh a little.
"Sorry, you look so beautiful tonight."
"Thanks." Before I send her up to the suites, I gave her a kiss on the cheek. I could hear all the guys saying "ooh and ah". During the game no one hasn't scored at all. It was a tough battle for me because everytime that I see Claude, I want to punch him in the face for what he did to Wrenn. During the game it was tied 1-1 and I could feel that Claude is watching me the whole time. We we have 16 minutes till the game was over and Claude pass by me.
"How's it like dating a liar?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You did get my gift right?"
"Shut up ass-hole and Wrenn found out that she has cancer." Then Claude all of a sudden started to laugh. I couldn't take it any longer. I got into a fight with Claude. I was in the box for five minutes. I know that I need to get a hat trick to save me and make Wrenn happy. I was almost done to get the hat trick and the score was 3-2. Claude was on my ass the rest of the game. There was only 2 minutes left of the game. I need this last one.
"G!" He pass me the puck and I slap shot it in and everything was flashing. I got a hat trick! This is amazing! Everyone was hugging me and when I look at the time and it was over. We won the game 4-2


In the morning, I was going to wrap my arms around her but I see that she wasn't in bed. I went downstairs and I see that she was on her laptop. She had to radio on to Vinnie and Cookie on.
"I can't believe that James Neal got a hat trick last night. That the fact he got into a fight with Claude and then get's a hat trick." Vinnie was speaking.
"We do have some news to tell everyone." Cookie speaks out.
"It's a little bit quiet here in the studio that our new cohost Wrenn just found out that she had a cancer. She's getting treatment today and we are sending our thoughts to her and hope she recover soon. We miss you already Wrenn. You know that she was right about Neal getting a hat trick."
"That's right." Then I heard her crying. She wants to be in the studio with the guys and talk about the game. I went over and gave her a hug.
"Everything is going to be all right."
"I'm just scared and I know that it's going to take more than 6 months of treatment, but that means I won't see you and the guys. I'm going to be more sick because of what they are going to do to me."
"Wrenn you need to listen to me, I will be with you in every step and the team to. I am taking you to your first treatment today and I will stay with you the whole time. Coach knows that I want to be here with you. Also I have something for you when you are getting your treatment. When we got to the hospital and when we got to her room. I though she was going to cry again. The whole team was there to be with her. She was hugging everyone when she got to Geno someone step behind him and I now Wrenn started to cry.
"Wade!" He gave her a big hug and he wouldn't let go.
"How, What, When?" She try to speak but all the tears were coming out to fast.
"Your boyfriend here call me and told me everything. I need to be here since you know."
"He doesn't know and I am not ready to tell him." She forgot that everyone was listening to her talking. We all have no idea what she's talking about.
"Well all that means nothing but right now this means a lot to me more than anything in the world. Thanks guys."
