Danielle guided Audrey through the halls. She explained the order of the school to her. It went the nerds and the weird kids at the bottom. The science kids, the smokers, the ones that just didn't shower, they were the base of the school. They were what everyone didn't want to be. Next was the freaks. They received their own level because they lived in the real world, even if they lived in it differently. This was where the emo kids and Satan worshippers resided.

"There's no way you have actually Satan worshippers." Audrey argued.

"I used to be friends with this Mormon girl who turned atheist. Believe it or not, we get along better now." Danielle told her.

"This school is terrifying."

In the middle were the art kids. The drama geeks, artists, and musicians. They were given a bit of credit for being weird because of their talent and not just because. Second to the throne were the foreigners, the rebels, and the athletes that weren't on teams, like the gymnasts or the swimmers or the track stars. And at the top were the teams and their companions. Within the four biggest teams at the school, football was at the top of the top. Following them was the basketball team, then the soccer team, and then the hockey team.

"Where do you fit in?" Audrey asked as she and Danielle sat with their lunches.

"Oh, I'm top of the pyramid. You will be too." Danielle explained.

"Why is that?"

"Well, my friend Taylor's brother is on the team plus she's dating Glover so that gives me street cred and since you're with me, you'll get my cred." Danielle told her. "I also dated Val for a year but he's Russian and garbage."

"Russians are scary." Audrey frowned.

"Not the beautiful trainer of the hockey team." Holiday sang as she sat down beside Audrey. "I'm Holiday. You must be the coach's daughter."

"Don't be alarmed, I went to see Jack and he told us about you." Taylor explained, sitting across from her.

"Jack?"

"Glover. My boyfriend." Taylor blushed. "He's a ginger fuck."

"I was telling Auds about the pyramid." Danielle told the girls.

"Rumour has it that the hockey team used to be the top of the top." Taylor stated.

"What happened?"

"Well, the team turned to shit for starters." Holiday chuckled.

"And Coach Thornton's daughter caused a lot of problems. She slept with majority of the team." Danielle shook her head. "One of the guys knocked her up."

"It was Coach Thornton's fault." Holiday defended.

"Yeah, he poked holes in Tyler's condoms." Danielle laughed.

"But he told Tyler to stop sleeping with her!" Taylor exclaimed.

"This school is unreal." Audrey shook her head in disbelief.

"Dani," Jacob sang, sitting down beside Danielle.

"Please leave." Taylor spat at her brother.

"Shut up." He shot back before turning back to Danielle. "Are you coming to the practice tonight?"

"Why would I go to a practice?" Danielle asked.

"To watch me show off for you." He grinned. Taylor made a gagging noise. “Shut up.” He shoved her.

“Hey, do not hit your sister.” Danielle hissed, smacking his forehead with her palm.

“I’m going to the practice.” Audrey shrugged.

“Why?” The girls said in sync.

“My car hasn’t come in from my old city yet. My dad’s my ride.” Audrey explained, rolling her eyes.

“Rich people.” Danielle rolled her eyes.

“See, go to the practice with,” Jacob dragged out the last word.

“Audrey,” She furrowed her brows.

“Audrey and become best friends!” He yelled, walking over to Audrey and wrapping an arm around her with a smile.

Danielle rolled her eyes while drinking from her straw. She looked back up and saw Audrey frowning while Jacob held his cheek to hers. Holiday let out a sigh.

“I guess we can go.” She caved.

We?” Danielle cocked a brow.

“No!” Taylor cried.

“Please. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle the entire team on my own.” Audrey stated, giving Jacob a look that only the girls could see.

“Fine!” Danielle growled.

“Yes!” Jacob exclaimed. “God, Audrey’s so FTB.” He pecked her cheek before walking away.

Audrey wiped her cheek. “What the fuck does that mean?”

“Your dad is a coach and you don’t know what that means?” Taylor asked in shock.

“I don’t know high school slang. I never had to go to school with the kids he was coaching.” Audrey frowned.

“Oh, Auds.” Danielle sighed.
