Danielle and Michael sat across from each other at the dinner table. Dani drank from her glass of water, Michael’s eyes not leaving hers. She cocked a brow at him as she placed her glass back down. He smiled at bit at her as she brushed her hair out of her face.
“What are you planning, Dal Colle?” She narrowed her eyes.
“A game.” He chimed.
Dani rolled her eyes. "Let's hear it."
"Staring contest. First person to crack an emotion loses." He explained.
"What's the prize?"
"Winner picks our next date and something the loser has to do for them." He suggested.
"Can the winner pick no next date?" She grinned.
"Hey, your call. No sabotaging the other player though." He warned.
"Okay, go."
So they stared. Neither of them were showing an ounce of emotion, both had blank expressions. Until Danielle started to think.
Tonight had been too good for her to plan the next one. What if she thought something was fun and Michael wanted to die because of it? She felt herself tense up. She knew she wasn't going to lose, so she had to make herself. She slowly cracked a smile before laughing. Good cover up, Dan.
"Ah, so I'm the winner." He smirked.
She frowned. "What do I have to do?"
He shrugged as he stood, putting down money for their food. "We have all night to figure that out."
At her home, Holiday was disturbed by a knock on her door. She let out a long growl as she stood from her bed. She walked down the hall, then down the stairs, and through the kitchen. She opened the door and furrowed her brows. Why was Sonny at her door?
"Hi." She crossed her arms.
"I have something I need to tell you." He exhaled.
"Text message? Direct message? Phone call?" She listed other ways he could've told her.
"I needed to tell you face to face." He frowned.
"Okay, what's up?"
"Remember the whole change room incident?" He asked, looking past her.
She took a deep breath. "Sonny,"
"Just, let me." He cut her off. "I went to just skate around, blow off some steam, but then I saw you with him and I just, I snapped. I hid in the change room and you two came in and you," He twisted his hands around. "And then you left and I just," He stopped. "I'm sorry, Hol."
"Are you kidding?" She hollered. "Andre got benched for three games! He almost didn't get to come to the tournament and you're sorry?"
"I don't know what else I can say." He admitted.
"Nothing you say is going to make this okay!" She yelled. "You shouldn't even be apologizing to me. Andre's the one who got fucked over because of you. He's gonna lose his shit."
"Please don't tell anyone." Sonny begged.
Holiday laughed. "Oh, fuck off. Don't play the victim. Go home, Sonny." She slammed the door and walked away.
Ten minutes later, there was another knock. Holiday could've sworn she told Sonny to leave. She stomped down to the door, yanking it open.
"I said leave!" She screamed before seeing Danielle in front of her.
"Bitch, chill. I just got here." Danielle shook her head as she walked in.
"Sorry. Sonny just stopped by and," Holiday shook her head.
"Do you want to talk about that or do you want happy news?" Danielle pouted.
"Happy and then we'll talk about it." Holiday sighed as she sat on her couch.
Dani dropped onto it beside her. "I went on a date with Michael and I kissed him."
"Shit, eh. How was it?" Holiday turned towards Danielle.
"He picked me up and we went for dinner. So we were just sitting, done, and he said we should have a staring contest and the first to laugh or whatever loses, and I lost, so he gets to plan our next date and he got to pick something for me to do. I assumed I was gonna have to suck dick or something but nope.
"He pays and I ask what I have to do and he says we have all night. Then we're driving again or whatever and he pulls over to the side of the highway, nothing but trees beside us, and climbs out. He opens my door and extends his hand and then drags me into the trees. I'm freaking out at this point because it's obviously Dal Colle is about to murder me in this patch of trees.
"But then we get through the trees and there's this clearing that looks over the entire city. It was so beautiful, Hol. I teared up." Danielle grinned.
"Okay, continue!"
"There was already a blanket on the ground for us to sit on, so I sit down beside him and cuddle into him. He's stroking my hair and we're just sitting in silence. I decide to be a little crazy, so I tilt his chin down and give him a kiss. He starts laughing so I'm freaking out again and then he explains that was what he was gonna ask me to do since he won.
"So we're there for another hour and he just starts telling me all these stories about him and SB firing golf balls off the clearing and all this stupid shit." Danielle laughed. "And then he drops on me that I'm the only girl he's ever taken here."
"Oh my god!" Holiday gasped.
"I know!" Danielle exclaimed.
"This is good, Dan. You need a guy like this." Holiday smiled.
"I know I do."
"You deserve a guy like this more than anything." Holiday squeezed her knee.
"No one deserves Michael Dal Colle. He's perfect." Dani argued.
"Do Tay and Auds know?" Holiday asked.
"No. Taylor is like dead, I haven't heard from her all day, and Audrey's at the Reinharts'." Danielle smirked.
"I'm honestly gonna die if she doesn't date Sam." Holiday huffed.
"I don't think they're anything serious, Hol. She'd tell us." Dani shrugged.
"Doesn't mean they don't feel anything." Holiday argued. "I'm gonna make a group call with Taylor and see what she thinks of that situation, and then you can tell your story."
"Candice and Kaylynn too!"
So that's what Holiday did. She added everyone beside Audrey to a call to discuss Audrey.
"Discussion: are Audrey and Sam in love?" Holiday said, her phone on speaker.
"Yes." Everyone echoed.
"I mean, Audrey is obvious and Sam tries not to be, but he's worse than her." Kaylynn explained.
"And Audrey is oblivious." Taylor spoke. "No guys' family is okay with a girl coming over that often unless they thing there's something there."
"She's literally with Sam more than she's with me and that says something considering we haven't been apart often since she moved here." Dani added.
"I don't know the last time I've heard talk of either of them without the other coming up." Candice thought back.
"Or talked to either of them without the other being mentioned." Holiday made a point. "On a side note, Dani and Dal Colle are in love."
A chorus of questions were rapid fired at Danielle. She took a deep breath. "We went on a date and he took me to this private little spot he's never taken a girl to and I kissed him and he asked me on another date and I kissed him again, and again, and like eight more agains because he is so cute and sweet and I can't handle it." She inhaled sharply.
"Yes bitch!" Candice cheered.
