Dustin did a double take at his eldest child. "What are you doing?"

Audrey furrowed her brows. "Getting a water?"

"Why are you dressed in that?" He asked, referring to the Love Pink sweats she was wearing and the oversized Kings t-shirt she had on.

She looked at her outfit. "What's wrong with wearing this to lounge around?" She sipped from her water.

"Team party today." He stated as he pulled bags of chips from grocery bags.

"Yeah, I'm not feeling up for that." She explained. "I'm just really tired."

"That sucks. Go get changed. Did I not buy you new shoes for this occasion?" He challenged.

"Dad, come on! I'm not part of the team!" She whined.

"Aren't all your friends coming?"

"To hang out with their boyfriends!" She exclaimed.

"Oh, just Taylor and Candice." He waved her off.

"Uh, dad, Holiday and Andre, Michael and Dani, Kaylynn and Sam!" She listed.

"Sam? Like, next door? Reinhart?" He quizzed.

"No, Sam Bennett." She rolled her eyes. "Sam Reinhart is an asshole."

"He's great with your siblings." Dustin shrugged. "You have an hour until people start to show. Get ready."

Audrey let out a growl before she stomped up to her room.

She half-assed her hair. She straightened most of it but wasn't too worried on if it was perfect or not. Her make up was the same thing she always did. Her face and some mascara. That was all.

Next, she had to find something to go with her new shoes. When she was happy with her outfit, she sprayed on some perfume and made her grand entrance. The only people there were Phil, Jagr, and the girls. Audrey sighed before walking over to her friends. They all smiled at her, looking over her outfit.

"You look so cute." Dani cooed.

"I'm aiming to scoop up one of the guys like all of you did." Audrey teased.

"Pretty sure you already scooped up Sam." Candice smirked.

Danielle frowned at Audrey. "No, we're just friends. He went on a date the other day. Her name was Lauren." Audrey smiled as she filled a glass with juice.

Holiday looked to Taylor, who shook her head. They could tell Audrey was upset about it, but now wasn't the time or place to bring it up. The doorbell rang and Dustin answered it. Jamie walked in with his adorable smile on his face. All of the girls sighed. He was so dreamy but so off limits. At least, most of them thought so.

"I think I found my next conquest." Audrey spoke

"Jamie?" Kaylynn gasped.

"Yeah, he's hot and single." Audrey shrugged.

"Auds, if your dad isn't okay with you dating one of his players, what makes you think his assistant would be fine?" Dani pointed out.

"That's what adds the fun." Audrey smirked before walking over to Jamie.

The night went on and everyone else arrived. Audrey was still speaking to Jamie. He was too nice and too oblivious to catch on to her tricks. All the girls stayed with their boyfriends as they talked and walked around and whatever else they did. No one really worried about Audrey and Jamie. Except one person.

Sam.

He hadn't stopped watching them. He was angry, or jealous, or annoyed, or bitter, or something. He was something. He had convinced himself he wasn't into Audrey, but seeing her with another guy was a different story. Sam called Taylor over.

"What's going on with Jamie and Audrey?" He whispered

She rolled her eyes. "She's trying to get with him." She explained.

"Why?"

"Because you," She shoved him. "Broke her heart." She stated.

"I didn't do anything, Tay. I never voiced interested in her." He sighed. "She just,"

"Who would've thought she'd end up falling for the kid that she spends all her time with and treats her like she's his already? So unexpected." She mocked before walking over to Jamie.

Audrey had left him to go to the washroom. Taylor walked over and he smiled. She took a deep breath. Things were about to get weird. Jamie seemed like an awkward guy as it was. Taylor was about to make it worse for him.

"I don't want to ruin your night but it would be in your best interest if you started to hang around Dustin." Taylor scratched her head.

"What?" Jamie furrowed his brows.

She growled. "Audrey is trying to flirt with you."

"Dustin's daughter?" He nearly fainted.

"She's trying to get back at someone. Just stick with Dustin." Taylor shrugged before she walked off.

Audrey came back from the washroom and saw Jamie standing by her father's side. She exhaled while rolling her eyes. She walked over to where they were sitting originally and plopped down. Out came her phone, and gone went her attention. She felt eyes on her. She looked up, locking eyes with Sam. She rolled hers again, then walked out of the house, into the backyard. The door opened a minute later behind her, and out he came.

"Can you go inside?" She asked, not facing him.

"Not until we talk." He crossed his arms.

"Talk about what, Sam?" She threw out her arms, turning to him. "You're with Lauren now, I get it."

"No, I'm not." He argued. "But even if I was, Jamie?" She rolled her eyes. "Be a little realistic."

"Fuck you." She shook her head. "You can't just fuck with me and then get mad when I make an attempt to get over you."

"With Jamie, though?" He exclaimed.

"Who cares? Why do you care?" She cried. "Just leave me alone." She brushed by him.

"Audrey, I don't want our friendship to end like this." Sam sighed.

Audrey stopped with her back to him. "Too late."
