Hadlee laughed as Caroline went out the door dressed by German Beer Girl. Hadlee really wished she would just quit and let Hadlee pay the bills. Caroline however was too independent and was still searching for a teaching job. But Caroline had cut down on the number of days she working because she wanted to see Dougie. It was amazing how in less than 3 months their lives had become so intertwined with the boys. Hadlee was glad to see that Caroline was settling in with Dougie.

Hadlee was reading the rules for family court in Boston while watching Dancing with the Stars. Baby K was sitting on the floor playing with Deke. The kid had been trying to teach Deke to fetch the entire evening. So far Deke had managed flop and sleep. Deke would also growl at his hockey puck and push it around the floor much to Baby K's great amusement. She and Kayleigh were watching Dancing with Stars. Hadlee kept laughing at Baby K. He didn't seem to get why they were watching the show. He did seem interested in the pretty girls.

"Davey we will sign you up for this in a few years." laughed KK "Then you can dance with the pretty girls."

"No I no good at dance." he replied looking at them seriously. Hadlee and KK both started laughing at his expression.

"No fear Baby K" said Hadlee "It would interfere with hockey season. We need you on the ice."

"Plus we are totally teasing Davey." said Kayleigh said petting him on the shoulder. "The last hockey player lasted 1 week on the show."

"Who?" demanded Davey

"Umm he was a Ranger." said Hadlee grabbing her iPad "Sean Avery was his name."

"Sean Avery" repeated Davey scrunching up his nose "I not like him very much. He has big mouth and is very mean."

"Marchy has a big mouth" replied Hadlee "and you like him."

"Is different Marchy not always mouthing. Sean Avery never stop mouthing." said Davey "Marchy is on ice Sean Avery loud everywhere. Plus Brad love KK and is good to KK."

KK beamed at Davey. Kayleigh leaned over and ruffled Davey's hair. They were all engrossed in the girl from Pretty Little Liars dance with Val. Apparently Baby K was PPL fans. He even mentioned that KK looked like one girls. Kayleigh laughed at him. They watched the next couple of dancers before Hadlee's iPad chirped. Hadlee laughed when she saw Kevan with Brad over his shoulder.

"Hey babe" said Kevan "We are in for the night." Hadlee as Kevan shoved Brad's face out of the screen.

"What are you all doing? How is Gears?"

"We have this hockey mom stuff down Miller" she replied laughing as Brad's head bobbed in and out of the screen. "Baby K is sitting here in the floor playing with Deke. We are watching Dancing With the Stars. "

"Dancing with the Stars" yelled Brad over Kevan's shoulder "Are you all torturing the rookie?"

"Kayleigh FaceTime Brad so that he gets off Kevan's shoulder" laughed Hadlee "No he seems to enjoy looking at the hot girls in tiny costumes. Plus he thinks one of the girls looks like KK."


"Is the rookie hitting on my girl" asked Brad. Davey looked up from his position on the floor. Hadlee noticed his cheeks turn bright red. Aww Baby K had a crush on KK.

"Bradley Keith Marchand" yelled Kayleigh "Leave Davey alone."

"I'm just kidding" called Brad.

"Go away Brad" said Kevan shoving him again "Go call Kayleigh."

Brad bounced out of screen. Hadlee excused herself from the living room and went and sat on her side of the bed.

"So you all are taking care of Gears." said Kevan

"Yep. We have his schedule worked out between the 3 of us." she replied "It actually works out. Brad might be right about him a having a crush on KK."

"Well as long as he isn't hitting on you the squirrel is on his own." laughed Kevan "So you have this hockey mom thing down."

"Yep, we are awesome at it. Well except for the foray into the explanation of prostitutes. Krejci will have to deal with that when he gets home."

"What?" asked Kevan

"Caroline and Baby K were at Wal-Mart and she was talking about checking out. He got confused because you all have taught him to check out girls. So it went south fast."

Kevan laughed at he loved watching how animated Hadlee was. He was sure that Hadlee would make an awesome hockey mom. Kevan however kind of hoped that they might eventually have a smart mouthed baby girl. Well that was out of left field. He was listening to her ramble about family court and how happy she was to transition from family court. He was nodding and agreeing. He missed her.

"What" she asked "you're just staring at me."

"I just miss you" he replied "I'm glad you are happy with family court. And yes the Bruins will do whatever we can to help with whatever programming you need. I will get our outreach person to call you." Hadlee was smiling at Kevan.

"So Detroit. Baby K said that you all have to play Reilly's brother."

"Yes and I do believe that we have all threatened to make Reilly and only child." said Kevan "Brendan is like Marchy but less loveable."

"Be nice he is kind of family." said Hadlee

"I promise only to hit him legally" he replied "I wish I was home already."

"Me too" she replied "I think KK is going home to sleep. Baby K will sleep in the office. So that means I get to snuggle with Caro in your bed."

"Our bed" he said "So I have to hot former collegiate cheerleaders in my bed and I am in Detroit. How is that fair babe?"

"I didn't say it was fair. I guess I get to snuggle your pillow instead of you."

"I left my shirt for you on your chair." he replied. Marchy came bounding back into the room. His head came into view.

"I miss you too Hadlee Belle." called Brad. Hadlee giggled and waved at Brad.

"Well the squirrel is back so I guess we are going watch a movie or something. I miss you."

"Miss you to Miller. Play nice with the other kids at the rink."

"I love you Hadlee."

"Love you too Miller."

"What about me" yelled Brad.

"Damn it Marchy." called Kevan "Gotta go babe I am gonna suffocate Marchmont."

"Don't hurt Bradley Keith or you'll have to deal with KK" laughed Hadlee "I love you. I will text tomorrow before the game"

"Nite babe. Love you too." said Kevan. The last image Hadlee was Kevan lever up from the bed and start towards Marchy.
Hadlee found the linens and fixed the bed in the office for Baby K. The entire room smelled like Kevan. She stepped over the bags that Davey had dropped in the room. She made sure the tv worked and turned on the lamp on Kevan's desk before turning off the overhead light. He would be ready for bed whenever he wanted.

Kayleigh told her that she was going to head over to her apartment for the night but would be back tomorrow evening. Hadlee understood her apartment was much closer to the bakery. Hadlee and Baby K watched all of Dancing with the Stars and finished the latest episode of Castle. Gears offered to take Deke out while Hadlee got ready for bed. Hadlee got ready for bed. She decided that since Baby K was here she would thrown on pj pants and Kevan's shirt. When Davey got back he put Deke in his box. Hadlee showed him the room and how to work the TV. She flipped the lights in the apartment off but left on the living room lamp and kitchen sink light for Caroline.

Caroline quietly entered the apartment. She made her way to Kevan and Hadlee's room. She laughed Hadlee was sitting in the bed reading a law book and Law and Order SVU was on the TV. Hadlee looked up at her. Hadlee shook her head at Caroline's outfit. Caroline stripped out of her costume and into one of Dougie's shirts. Caroline texted Dougie then went to brush her teeth. While she was gone Hadlee had climbed over to the other side of the bed.

"Well this is weird" said Hadlee "I am used to being on that side."

"You want me to trade" asked Caroline laughing. Hadlee shook her head and buried her face in Kevan's pillow. Caroline's phone chirped. Dougie said he was going to Facetime her.
Caroline answered the call. She laughed when she saw Dougie and Spooner both in the same bed.

"Any particular reason you are snuggling with Spoons?" she asked laughing again.

"Me and Spoons went and watched Annabelle" replied Dougie "Spoons is having some anxiety."

Caroline burst out laughing. Hadlee rolled over and looked at the screen. Dougie waved at Hadlee.

"Caroline is there a giraffe in bed with them as well?" asked Hadlee. Sure enough there was a stuffed giraffe in the bed with them as well.

"What kind of kinky shit are you boys into" quizzed Caroline "You've been gone less than 15 hours and you are snuggling boys and giraffes."

"Spooner's giraffe" replied Dougie as if it were normal for a grown man to have a stuffed giraffe in his hotel room "Part of the hockey juju, sweetheart. I'd rather be snuggling with you."

"So instead you are spooning with Spoons" she asked "That's fucked up Hamilton."

"You have Hadlee to snuggle with." replied Dougie "We are not spooning."

"By virtue of being in bed with Spooner you are spooning. Right Hadlee" teased Caroline

"Gonna give her that one Hamilton."

"Spooning with Spoons" yelled Ryan "That can be a segment on Behind The B"

"I'll make you famous" said Caroline quoting Tombstone.

Dougie started laughing. He missed her sassiness. Hell he just missed her and it was night 1. Dougie pushed Spooner's head out of the screen.

"How was work" asked Dougie

"Boring only regular drunks on baseball guys on Monday nights. Football season is starting to draw people in as well."

"What are you wearing tomorrow during this costume shenanigans?"

"It's a surprise Hamilton you'll have to wait and see. But I promise to text you a picture before puck drop." smirked Caroline.

"Deal" said Hamilton "They are knocking on doors making sure we are in for the night. I have to go. Miss you Sweetheart."

"Miss you too Dougie" she replied

"Don't do anything Kayleigh wouldn't do" called Dougie. Caroline laughed and blew him a kiss.

"Nite Hamilton" called Hadlee.

Caroline is disconnected the call. She laid down beside Hadlee. Caroline was still smiling when

Hadlee rolled over to face her. Hadlee started laughing.
"What" demanded Caroline.

"Nothing" replied Hadlee.

"No it was something" said Caroline.

"He loves you. You know that, right?" explained Hadlee "Not like I love to have sex with you, not like your his favorite booty call, but he honestly like you."

"I'm not sure it's love" said Caroline.

"Caroline you love him too if you would just admit it." admonished Hadlee "when have you ever been this crazy about a guy."

Caroline snuggled up next to her. She was quiet for a minute. Hadlee threw and arm around her and hugged her.

"I miss him. I like being around him. He makes me happy." replied Caroline " I haven't as much as looked at another guy other than to sling him a beer. I am so afraid I will fuck this up."

"Then don't" said Hadlee.

"Promise not to make fun of me?" asked Caroline.

"No" said Hadlee laughing "But you have to tell me anyway on the grounds that I am your bestie?"

Caroline laughed. She wouldn't have agreed to it either. That's why they were best friends.

"The thing I miss most about him is his heartbeat." said Caroline quietly.

"Well that wasn't what I was expecting" replied Hadlee.

"I know right" said Caroline "It's just I can be quiet with him and it's not awkward. Sometimes it's the only sound in the room."

"Aww you really do love him." said Hadlee squealing.

"Shut up" yelled Caroline hitting her.

"I love you Caro" said Hadlee

"Love you too" said Caroline

Hadlee fell asleep thinking of all the things she had to do tomorrow. She had to drop Baby K off at the rink, go to a dozen meeting, help the BC cheerleaders, and come home in time to watch Kevan's game. She snuggled into his pillow. One night down meant one
