Don't Forget Me

Lost In You

Chapter Twelve

(Third person point of view)

It was a night to be remembered. Jonathan Toews was shown the statue in his honour for his tireless contribution to the hockey club, and Patrick Sharp was named captain. Patrick Kane scored with less than three minutes to go in the final frame, lifting the Hawks past the Canucks 2-1, and pushing them to first in the western conference. With only ten games remaining, the Hawks were guaranteed a playoff berth with the win.

In celebration to all of these events, the players were all going out to their favourite bar just up the street. The fans were minimal, the drinks a maximum; it was where Patrick Kane often found his one night stands.

The place a buzz already, Corey Crawford helped Jon into the bar, where they all found a table to call 'home base'. Jon knew better than to drink too much, or to push his body; when he did physio in the morning, he didn't want to pay for last night's festivities.

"A toast, to having Jon back again. He may not be playing right now, but every win we get, we dedicate to you, Jon! Here's to your miracle comeback to the team!" Kaner shouted to the table. Everybody raised their glasses, clinking them together in the middle of the table. The music roared loud throughout the bar, making it hard to speak, let alone hear anybody else.

"See anyone you like, Kaner?" Corey asked with a laugh, once he noticed what his teammate was doing. It was no secret Patrick had been lonely lately, not even having so much as a one night stand since the death of his girlfriend. Instead, he busied himself helping Addison with fatherly duties, doing volunteer work at the local hospital, and working out to better his game.

"Nah" he replied a little bit down. He went straight to the bar and ordered three more shots he downed in an instant before grabbing a rum and coke and heading back to the table. Duncan, Patrick Sharp, Corey and Jon all sat at the table, chatting amicably.

There were a lot of girls, eyeing the boys table with envy; there was no question they knew who they all were. There was rarely many girls who frequented this bar that didn't know them; it was obvious the reason they were here.

After many more shots, and an undetermined amount of drinks later, Patrick Kane was beyond trashed. He stumbled around the bar, trying to find his way back to home base, when somebody tapped him on the right shoulder. He turned around, confused, seeing a very hot blond chick standing before him.

"Hi" she breathed, her voice barely being heard over the boom of the bass. Patrick looked her up and down, determining she was his type. Her dress was tight and skimpy, revealing her curvaceous body, and most definitely fake boobs. Her fake tan was obvious but impressive and sexy nonetheless. She was not the girl you introduced your grandmother to; she was a one night stand; nothing more.

"Hey there" Patrick wiggled his eyebrows, feeling tipsy. He eyed her with suspicion, suddenly remembering he had known her from somewhere.

"Let me buy you a drink" she whispered in his ear seductively. He could feel himself begin to be turned on by the simple words she whispered into his ear. She returned moments later, a rum in coke in one hand, and her blue drink in the other. "Cheers" she grinned the pair taking the first sip of their drinks.

"You look familiar" Patrick replied, finishing off the last of his drink. At this point, the alcohol wasn't tasted anymore; it was simply just a coke to Patrick. He tried to hold himself steady, but began feeling a little bit woozy, and tired.
"
Strange, we've never met before" she pursed her lips. "What do you say you take me home?" She asked, grabbing his hand and half heartedly began dragging him towards the exit.

"No I'm- I'm good" he stumbled with his words, suddenly feeling a lot more woozy. "I need air" he breathed, doubling over on the floor. He regained his footing, rushing outside where he instantly collapsed on the hard ground below him.

"I'll hail us a cab" the mystery girl offered. Patrick felt weird; a sensation he had never felt before. Everything felt as if it were tingling, like all of his limbs had fallen asleep all at once. He blinked a few times, before his vision began to cloud.

"I- no" he whispered, his eyes fluttering shut. The girl paid no attention to his answer; she pulled him up from the crowd, having absolutely no trouble hailing a cab based on her attire, and the man she held up in her grip.

"Address?" The cab asked stiffly. Patrick couldn't even get his mouth to open to form the words. The girl rolled her eyes, grabbing his driver's license from his wallet and rattling off the address to the cab driver.
Patrick felt his world about to go dark; he sat in the cab, confused and lightheaded, before he finally lost consciousness. The blonde in the car smirked, her plan nearing completion. It didn't take long before she was helping him up the steps, and into the beautiful home of the Toews', and Kaner. She very quietly turned the door knob, retreating to his abode downstairs. She had done a fair bit of research on him, and knew he was living in the basement of Jonathan Toews.

She threw him to the bed, smiling wickedly as she did so.

Meanwhile, whilst Patrick was enduring the wrath of the mystery woman, the rest of the team was looking about for Patrick Kane. Corey felt his heart begin to race; he had promised Addison he would look after both Jon and Pat, and now he lost one of them. It's almost as of Addison knew how he would react the first time out to a bar in almost a year.

"Jon, have you seen Kaner?" Corey shouted over the blaring music. He shook his head no, while simultaneously looking around the bar for his friend. He did a lap with his eyes, silently wondering of he was in the bathroom. "Sharp already checked the bathroom" he added, as if reading Jonathan's mind. They both peered around curiously, wondering where he could have possibly disappeared to.

"The bar closes in ten minutes, we have to find him!" Andrew Shaw shouted with a hint of worry. The bouncers had kicked out a few over obsessive fan girls out, having tried to maul Sharp and Kane. Andrew vaguely wondered if the fans had gotten to him in a different means?

The team searched the entire bar, until it was closing time. Corey helped Jon up and out, where the team stood in a circle, trying desperately to get a hold of Kaner. His phone went right to voicemail; it was dead.

"What do we do?" Jon asked in a panic.

"Call Addison; ask her if he's home" Corey suggested. He knew she would be awake; and she made him promise in any state of emergency, no matter how small, to contact her. Corey pulled out his phone, and dialled the number, waiting anxiously for the answer on the other side.

"Is everything ok!?" She answered in a panic. Addison knew Corey would never call her unless it was absolutely necessary. She grew anxious, wondering if both Pat and Jon were well.

"Jon is fine" Corey assured her, getting that out of the way. "It's Patrick-'we can't find home, did he come home by cab maybe?" He asked, holding his breath.

"I'll check" she replied. Corey's heart raced with anticipation, as he heard the vague sounds of Addison's footsteps running hurriedly down the stairs. Addison ran hurriedly, reaching the door in record time. She noticed the door was still shut, unlocked like she had left it. Sighing, she began to panic realizing they had no idea where Patrick was.

Just to be sure, Addison stepped downstairs carefully and quietly, making her way to his bedroom. The door was ajar, so Addison peered in, noticing a lump in the blankets; Patrick.

"He's home" she whispered, letting out a big sigh of relief.

"Thank god" Corey let out the breath he had still be holding. "Guys he's at home" Corey hung up the phone after promising Addie Jon would be home within ten minutes. It seemed unusual; even when Patrick went home with a girl, he was always sure to tell somebody where he was going; a text, call.. or even in person. It was completely out of character for him to have gone home without a word to anyone.
"Was he with a girl?" Jon asked on the drive home. Everyone calmed down and felt better knowing Patrick was safe in his bed at home, all dispersing and heading back to their respective houses and apartments.

"Didn't ask" Corey answered, realizing he was dying to know the answer as well. "Give him a punch for me; and everyone else for that matter for getting us all worked up and worried" he chuckled. Jon grinned, nodding his head agreeing.

"That's fair" Jon answered.

It wasn't long before the pair had made it home. Jon called Addison, who hurriedly rushed to the door, where she took over for Corey helping him walk. Addison smiled in appreciation towards Jon's teammate; she was beyond grateful he stayed sober and looked after him; she knew it wasn't desirable, but she knew Corey understood how Much it meant to both Jon and Addison.

"Thank you Corey" she whispered. "Really, thank you" she couldn't express how thankful she was for him, for his teammates, and all the people on the franchise; they were absolutely incredible.

"Anytime Addie, sorry for the scare" he rolled his eyes. "Was he with a girl?" He decided to ask. Both Jon and Corey waited anxiously for the answer the desired to know.

"Yeah, did he not tell you?" She asked, surprised. It was unusual for him not to tell anyone when he found a girl to take home. "I'm surprised he even took someone home to. E honest" she confessed, pursing her lips. She knew how Patrick was suffering still from the loss of his girlfriend to cancer, and he had changed. He no longer was interested in a one night stand; he wanted so,done to spend his life with.

"I know, us too" Jon nodded, agreeing with his wife.

"Let us know how he is in the morning?" Corey asked, yawning.

"Of course, thanks again Corey" Jon waved. Corey nodded, closing the door behind him. Addison and Jon made their way up to the bedroom, falling asleep almost instantly; they both had an exhausting day, and tomorrow being no different.

Before they fell asleep, their minds wandered to Patrick, expressing worry for their friend.
