Don't Forget Me

5-0

"I've missed you" I breathed, cuddling into Jon's arm. He held me closer, kissing my left cheek gently, a wide grin on his face. Today was the first day Jon and I were able to have sex in over two years; and it was just as incredible as I remembered. Patrick and Emma had agreed to take the kids for the morning before Patrick's game, so Jon and I could 'reconnect'. After four rounds of pleasure, we were ready to get up and start the day.

"I forgot you felt that amazing" he sighed happily, the grin never vanishing from his face. We laid in silence for a few moments, taking a minute to realize how lucky we both were. I was pleased and proud of the progress Jon had made since waking up from the coma he was never supposed to wake up from. Emma told us daily how much of a miracle it was Jon was doing as well as he was. Now that he was cleared to drive and have sex, training was the next step. The idea of him making an incredible comeback to the NHL seemed more and more plausible as the days went by.

"I think I'm gonna be sore for weeks" I mumbled into his chest. I felt his chest rise up and down rapidly from the laughter that escaped those gorgeous lips of his.

"That was the goal" he winked.

"Shit, I think Patrick and Emma will be home with the kids in an hour" I rolled over checking the time. Patrick would be returning for his pre game nap, and Emma working on a few last exercises with Jon. Once she cleared him to start training, she would no longer be needed to work for us. Of course we had no intentions of keeping her out of our lives; she was like family now, she was stuck.

"Then I guess we have time for round five?" He muttered playfully, resuming his position on top.

"So... Spill it!" Abby asked curiously. I arched an eyebrow, curiously wondering what she meant. "You know... The sex?" She added in a whisper. Gabby, Ryder, Aveyah and the rest of the kids were all sitting playfully in the corner, occupying theirselves until puck drop. The Hawks aimed to have a much better game than they had two nights ago; it had been an embarrassment. I felt my heart race a little, remembering the events that had taken place after the game. I shook my head of the dreadful thoughts, and concentrated on what Abby was asking me. I noticed Sydney, Kelly and Sarah all lean over in interest, hearing what Abby had asked.

"Nothing short of amazing" I answered simply, biting back a smile. The details were for me and me alone to enjoy; I wasn't giving away any information to anyone.

"Details!" Abby pushed. I simply shrugged, wiggling my eyebrows seductively. "You're no fun" she smacked my arm playfully, rolling her eyes playfully.

"I'd like to hear predictions" I immediately changed the focus of the conversation.

"I honestly don't think they'll win" Emma admitted sheepishly. "They'll be way too hungry for a win; way to focused on scoring rather than defence; probably gonna hang Corey out to dry" I smiled to Emma, happy she accepted the change of subject so easily.

"I'd love to think youre wrong, but I think you're right" Abby chewed on her bottom lip nervously.

"I don't think I can handle another brutal loss" Sydney sounded panicky. She rubbed her stomach anxiously, eyes fixated on centre ice. "We got into a pretty heated argument; between his anger and my hormones being fucked" she whispered the last part, suddenly seeming interested in the floor beneath her feet.

"I know how you feel" Emma whispered, tears glazing over her eyes. She too had had a rough go following the brutal loss to the Canucks; and I sympathized with her.

"We can't dwell on that ladies!" Kelly spoke up calmly. "We all know it's tough on us following a loss; so let's hope they don't get another one; they've got this; they're hungry!" She tried her best to stay positive, but I could tell the hesitation in her voice. It was obvious we all felt the same; nervous the game wouldn't turn out as positively as we all had wanted.

"Puck drop in t minus five minutes" Sarah pointed to the score board that hung above the beautiful ice surface. I looked to her, suddenly noticing a different number on the back of her jersey. For being so kind and thoughtful during the year Jon had stayed in the hospital, I had bought her a Jonathan Toews jersey, since she was a big hockey fan. She wore it to every game I invited her too, except tonight. Tonight, she bore a number 55; one of the new rookies on the team.

"I can't help but notice the change in jersey" I smirked her her direction. She immediately turned a million shades of red, focusing anywhere but on all of us, who looked in her direction expectantly.

"No way!" Abby clapped her hands over her mouth. Number 55; first overall in the 2024-2015 draft by the New Jersey Devils. Traded from the team was Brandon Saad in exchange for him, who wasn't putting. Up the numbers his draft status indicated. The trade turned out for the better; he was the leading goal scorer of all rookies, number three in the league with points at 116. Not only was he phenomenal with the puck, he Was also one very attractive man. He was 21 years old, just two years behind Sarah, and a hell of a lot younger than me.

"You and Hersey? That's so cute!" Kelly shouted a little too loudly. William Hersey; number 55 for the Chicago Blackhawks, and one hell of an asset to their team. He potted the only goal of the night the last game against Vancouver, and you could tell her was hungry for more; the kid never quit.

"How long!?" I asked, all of us being interrupted by having to stand for the national anthems. She shrugged, zipping her lips to be respectful during the anthems. I rolled my eyes, mouthing 'you aren't getting out of this' to her with a grin.

The boys on the bench all hung their heads low for the duration of the anthem. It was easy to see all of them hung their heads in concentration. Corey Crawford was probably the most intense and serious of all. I felt for him; his team put no effort in front of him, making him look like a fool. I felt bad for Sydney; being pregnant with twins wasn't easy, let alone having to deal with a cranky boyfriend after a bad loss.

"Here we go!" I heard Gabrielle shout, taking her seat next to me. Ryder joined her on her lap, Aveyah climbing up into mine. "Let's go uncle Patrick!" She yelled happily. I smiled, realizing just how glad I was she came to stay with us.

"Mommy look" Ryder pointed to Patrick as he set up at centre ice. The first lines for both teams crowded around centre, awaiting the opening draw. My heart began to beat a million miles a minute, hopeful for the game to turn out a lot better than the one before.

"I can't believe it" I muttered in disbelief. I shook my head, trying to understand what had just happened. The crowd booed loudly, agitated for the second game in a row, the Hawks had been embarrassed by the Canucks. This time was much worse; 5-0 was the final score, not even Hersey being able to solve Ryan Miller. All the wives made their way towards the dressing room, feeling nervous for the reaction of the coach, and players, once downstairs, Jon was standing outside the dressing room, a scowl on his face.

"Babe?" I asked gently. I ushered Gabby, Ryder and Aveyah to the car whilst I waited for their father. "Are you okay " I added with worry. He tore his gaze from the floor and met mine, intensity in his eyes.

"I need to hurry up and come back" he affirmed. "I need to help the team. They're just- falling apart at the seems out there" he nodded, pacing back and forth. He looked good when he walked; the next logical step for him, of course was training to make a return.

"Next year" I told him, beginning to believe it for myself.

"You really think so?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in surprise.

"You weren't supposed to wake up. Now you can walk, drive, have sex..." I added the last part barely above a whisper. "The next step is getting yourself trained up. I'll help, if you want. We can go to the gym together, go for runs... Whatever it is. I know how passionate you are about hockey; I wanna see you there again"

"I seriously have the best wife ever" he grinned, pulling me in for a kiss. I became to get more into it, before hearing the noise of someone clearing their throat behind me. I turned around, my eyes practically bulging out of my head.

"Lisa?" I asked in shock; it was my brothers wife.
