Should Have Known Better (Needlephobia)

Setting: A forest somewhere/Lindsay’s cottage
Enter SARA and CRISTINA from L.S.

CRISTINA
Oh my gosh! Patrick isn’t back yet!

SARA
You’re right, maybe we should go in search of him!

CRISTINA
That Lindsay D’Angelo is hiding something…I have a feeling she is more than some witch with powers. I think we should go check out Lindsay’s hideout. We’ll start searching for clues around here.

SARA
That sounds like a good plan.

CRISTINA
If you find anything…

SARA
I should let you know.

CRISTINA
Right! Patrick is a smart boy, he may have Merinthophobia, but he is drop dead gorgeous and smart!

SARA
Cris, do you have a crush on Patrick Kane?

CRISTINA
I don’t know.

SARA
Well, we’re wasting time. We should start searching before we find someone’s head…

CRISTINA
Oh no!!

SARA
Relax, Cris, I’m just saying “if”…

CRISTINA
That’s still cruel Sara.

(THEY begin to search around. LINDSAY’s cottage enters at L.S. SARA and CRISTINA walk inside. They find nothing out of the ordinary.)

SARA
I’ve got nothing in here!

CRISTINA
Me neither.

(CRISTINA notices a spell book open on a table though. She curiously walks up to the book and reads the pages open.)

CRISTINA
What the----

(CRISTINA happens to “summon” LINDSAY, who appears in a cloud of smoke at L.S. Exit SARA to R.S. LINDSAY storms forward and grabs CRISTINA by the wrist. She puts a sharp dagger to her neck. CRISTINA fidgets uncomfortably.)

LINDSAY
You snooping little Princess!

CRISTINA
What have you done with Patrick and Jonathan?

LINDSAY
Your breathing is harsh. If I didn’t know any better I would say that you have Aichurophobia!

CRISTINA
I don’t know what you’re talking about.

LINDSAY
Oh don’t kid yourself! You can’t lie to old Lindsay D’Angelo!

CRISTINA
Where’s Patrick and Jonathan?

LINDSAY
Wanna strike a bet?

CRISTINA
No!

(CRISTINA takes a deep breath and pushes LINDSAY’S arm away from her. She kicks the dagger out of her hands.)

LINDSAY
Wow, you are the first phobic to overcome their fears?

CRISTINA
Yeah, well it isn’t easy.

LINDSAY
I guess you deserve to know the answer to your question then!

CRISTINA
What?

LINDSAY
Sidney Crosby!

(Immediately LINDSAY is covered in smoke. SHE vanishes back off L.S. CRISTINA exits the cottage, which vanishes. She finds her best friend, SARA, who has found nothing.)

CRISTINA
We need to find a Sidney Crosby!

SARA
Where?

CRISTINA
You know what; I actually know who that is. He is a famous doctor!

SARA
Doctor? Oh damn, this doesn’t sound good at all.

CRISTINA
It isn’t. He is an ER doctor. He works with syringes.

SARA
So he must have Jonathan as a captive.

CRISTINA
And Patrick too.

SARA
Well, what are we waiting for then, let’s get going now!

CRISTINA
Yes, let’s go!

(Exit them to R.S. Stage transforms.)
