Val Nichushkin, Meet Arrow Hawk, the Hockey Avenger

Evelyna’s POV

I had spent the whole day on the computer fooling around with pictures and editing them in a way that made them different. I had an idea come to me after I’d watch the Avengers movie with Val one night. We’d settled in, cause the game had ended early and we decided to rent a movie and snuggle on the couch together.

We had decided on the Avengers. We watched it in English and I was shocked that Val followed along with it the whole way through. He enjoyed it a lot and during the movie we both were drawn toward a certain expert marksman.

When the movie was over, we both fell asleep together on the couch. It was such a great night.

But today and the past few days, I’d spent most of the day doing edits. Val was at practice and I was making images. I had done a whole bunch and I was super excited to show him. As soon as he walked in the door, I darted over and grabbed his hand.

“I have a surprise for you, sweetie.”

He smiled, that sweet innocent smile I loved and let me lead him into the family room, where my computer was with all the images on it.

Val’s POV

Evelyna wanted to show me something. I wasn’t sure what it was, but she sounded really excited about it. Since the Stars had a nice long four-day break before the next game, Evelyna had a break too. She kept busy by fooling around with a program on the computer named Powerpoint.

I wasn’t sure what she was doing but she grabbed my hand and led me into our living room. Lilly was curled up on a chair fast asleep. She was a good cat. I was an animal lover. I loved Tyler’s two dogs and Evelyna’s cat. But I was a softy for any animal in general and the pets always seemed to be fond of me. Cash - Tyler’s black dog - and I were best buds. I was yanked onto the couch and then Evelyna pulled her computer out and set it on her lap.

“Alright, so I was fiddling around today...and as you know, I’m a pro at Powerpoint. I started doing these edits long ago, while I was still at UCF actually. I like to see certain imagined images.” She tapped the keyboard of her Mac computer, as she talked. She pulled up the file folder and then clicked on some images.

“What you do? What you make?” I asked, unable to keep from smiling. “Is it good?”

“I did you as a superhero!” she exclaimed and turned the computer toward me.

I leaned over and rested my head on her shoulder. “I is superhero...you think of me as superhero?”

“Of course. This is an original image of Hawkeye, from the Avengers--”

“Oh...Hawkeye!! Yeah! He archer, right? From movie?”

“Yeah! Anyway I used your image and photoshopped your head to his body...I think you’d go by Star Shot?” she giggled. “Cause you’re a Dallas Star and you shoot the puck at the net! Star Shot.”

“Star Shot? Eh...how about Arrow Hawk?” I suggested. “Arrow Hawk sound better. And you know I have image of me as archer! That funny how I like Hawkeye! I shoot arrow better than him though!”

She giggled and raised an eyebrow at me. “You can shoot an arrow better than Jeremy Renner?”

“Who Jeremy Renner?” I cocked my head to the side.

“He’s Hawkeye, baby. That’s the name of the actor.”

“Oh! I look good as Arrow Hawk or as this Jeremy Renner dude.”

“Yeah. I also did Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn.” She instantly moved to pull up their images.

“What they look like?”

“I’m gonna show you. I call them Scorpion and Star Vision.”

“Scorpion? Star Vision? I like it!”

She showed me their pictures. Tyler was in a spy look like a Black Widow character. She explained to me that the reason he was in a female body (Black Widow’s) was because she hadn’t been able to find any good male spy bodies. All of them were suit and tie...not Scorpion-like looks. And Jamie was like Cyclops from the X-Men movies. Then she showed me Jonathan Toews or Captain Blackhawk, Patrick Kane or Showtime, Vladislav Namestnikov or Chaos, Gabriel Landeskog or Iceshot, John Tavares or Portal and ended on this gorgeous image of a redhead in a Dallas emerald green.

“Zvezda,” she said.

“Star.” I knew “zvzeda” meant “star” in Russian.

“Zvezda is the heroine and leader of the Hockey Avengers...at least that is the name I’m calling the group for now,” she proceeded to explain to me.

“Wow. You good at Powerpoint and edits and using computer. I also like your stories. Are you gonna write this story with all of us?”

“Yeah! I’m planning on it. I really would love to see Tyler in Black Widow’s outfit as a spy and you as Arrow Hawk.”

I nodded. “I think you should do it! I be okay with dressing in Hawkeye outfit.”

“Really?” She looked so taken aback with happiness. It warmed my heart and made me happy for her. But it was the truth. She was a brilliant and talented woman and she deserved success, like I did. “Should I show Tyler his Scorpion images?”

I laughed. “Yeah. He might kill you, but I’ll go all Arrow Hawk on him!”

“Where’s your bow and arrows then?”

“Uh...we have to get them. I no have them.”

“How?” she teased.

“Amazon?” I shrugged.

We laughed.

It just so happened that we were going over to Tyler’s house anyway, so Evelyna packed her Mac and we went to his place down the street. We entered his house and hung out for a little bit, before she brought up Arrow Hawk and Scorpion. She pulled up the images and showed Tyler. He frowned at first and looked at her. He wasn’t amused but then he smiled.

“So...I’m the badass spy chick?” Tyler questioned.

Kaitlyn and Kylie were out hanging together, so they weren’t there. But Jamie Benn was there as well (surprise, surprise...you can’t keep the man far from his Tyler...it was pure “Bennguin” as Evelyna called them). He was struggling not to burst out in tears of laughter as he stood beside Tyler. It took all the restraint in the world not to chirp the young man. I could tell. Jamie had his hand cupped over his mouth and I could see the effort there on his face.

Evelyna nodded, giggling. “Yeah, and I couldn’t find a man’s body and trust me, blue doesn’t look on you. But if you put the costume on or a male version of it, I’ll gladly delete the images. But that is Scorpion’s look. And hey, Scorpion’s tougher than Black Widow, so be proud of that!” She turned me and added, “Not really...he gets tied to chairs a lot more.”

“Fair enough. And Jamie’s a freak who can shoot laser beams from his eyes? I’ll take the chick look over that anyday.” Tyler smiled at Jamie.

“Hey, shut up Tyler...er Scorpion...or I’ll zap you with my star vision like Cyclops!” Jamie retorted playfully, folding his arms.

“Oh yeah, well I just put two bullets through your body! Ha!” Tyler chuckled, unable to keep from smiling.

I laughed at the two veteran players picking on each other. Evelyna seemed to be enjoying the show. We continued to hang out for the rest of the day, before Evelyna and I retired back to our house.

Notes

Oh Arrow Hawk.... *sighs*
Jeremy Renner + Hawkeye + Valeri Nichushkin = Arrow Hawk the HOTTEST of all superheroes and archers!
Legolas, Robin Hood, Green Arrow, they can suck it! XP
Anyone wanna see Arrow Hawk? Of course you do:

Me and my good pal A Shruinger created this together. The girl is Zvezda, the savior for the Dallas Stars. Zvezda was currently bombarded with being Black Hawk though, so unfortunately the Stars didn't get "saved", but rest assured she'll be there with them next season.
Captain Blackhawk and Showtime got Chicago:

Anyway, I know some of you reading don't care about hockey superheroes or the awesome action/adventure stories on here and don't understand this chapter. Feel free to skip it and move on.
There's one chapter left with this...it's a sad epilogue...
I don't want this story to end, but it must. Thank you to everyone reading and here comes the end...

Next up: The Epiloge

BUT, maybe next year...however for this, he is still playing and does get the hatty so :D
