One Shots

Andre Burakovsky

"Who's gonna win it?" Victoria asked as the Otters and Steelheads warm up.
"Otters. Steelheads suck ass." Autumn laughed as she threw some popcorn in her mouth.
"Are you sure Connor said we could hang out with him after?" Victoria frowned, she was nervous.
Autumn rolled her eyes. "Yes. That kid loves me!"
The game was quick paced, and obviously Erie had control. McDavid scored a goal, Brown had two, and Burakovsky topped it with a hat trick. After the game, Autumn led Victoria to the changerooms. They stood to the side while players came out to meet with people.
Players kept looking to them. McDavid came out and looked around before he spotted them and walked over. Guys groaned. 'Figures they'd be there for McDavid' was something Autumn swore she heard. She ignored it. She was there for the love of the game and to get wasted with the team afterwards. Victoria smiled at Connor. They knew of each other, but that was it.
"Tor, Connor. Connor, Tor." Autumn introduced.
They shook hands before Connor pulled out his phone. "We're going to Brown's house because he lives here so just meet us there." He instructed as he sent her the address.
"Will do." Autumn saluted before pulled Victoria out of the place.
They got to Connor Brown's and it was evident that no one else had gotten there yet. She sent McDavid a text and he told them to just go inside so they did. They grabbed some drinks, turned on some music, and waited for the night to start. A car pulled into the drive way. The lights turned off and a few seconds later, Andre Burakovsky walked through the door.
He looked surprised at first but smiled. He waved and walked into the kitchen without a word. A few other guys followed in behind him. Autumn looked at Victoria, who looked flustered. She furrowed her brows.
"What is that?" Autumn quizzed.
"What is what?" Victoria questioned.
"You're all," Autumn waved her hand around Victoria. "Because that Swede walked in."
"Autumn, he's beautiful. Can you blame me?" Victoria laughed.
"True!" Autumn sang.
"Ladies." Andre nodded as he walked into the living room.
"Andre." Autumn nodded, mocking him.
He smirked, sitting beside Victoria with his red cup in hand. "Did you enjoy the game?"
"Yeah, you played alright." Autumn shrugged.
Andre laughed. "What did you think?" He asked Victoria.
She looked at him beside her. His arm was on the back of the couch behind her. She took a deep breath. 'What would Autumn do?' rang in the back of her mind. She smiled and turned her body more towards him. She knew this was the alcohol. It was like Autumn took over her body.
"Maybe I could see those hands again sometime soon." She purred.
Autumn had to keep her jaw from dropping open. She held back a smile and tapped Victoria's shoulder. She looked back at Autumn. Andre looked past Victoria at her. Autumn smiled.
"I'm gonna go talk to the Connors." Autumn said before she walked off.
Connor Brown shook his head as she approached. "You shouldn't do that." He sang.
"Do what?" She rolled her eyes.
"Leave your friend to fall for Andre."
"Why not?" She argued.
"Because he'll be gone to Sweden for the summer and then he's going to Washington." Connor McDavid spoke, handing Autumn another drink.
"There's no way he'd just leave her high and dry like that. Right?" She asked the pair.
They shrugged. Andre never really had anything to do with girls his time in Erie. Yeah, there were girls that had chased him, but he never chased back. It was a one sided thing and it wasn't on Andre's side. The guys didn't know how he'd be with a girl. They were about to find out, clearly.
Andre and Victoria stood. He put a hand on the small of her back and guided her out of the room. Autumn turned once then were gone and cocked a brow at the Connors. They both shrugged. This was new for Andre. That was the last that was seen of them.
Autumn woke early. She had passed out in Connor's bed beside him. (Nothing happened.) The first thing she did was send Victoria a text. Victoria answered saying she was downstairs, looking for Autumn. Autumn climbed out of the bed. She smacked Connor's butt, yelling a 'thank you' as she ran out of the room. She made her way downstairs. Majority of the team was passed out somewhere.
"How was your night?" Autumn called, a teasing tone in her voice.
Victoria just smiled. "How was yours?"
"I got drunk and made Connor share his bed with me, so decent." Autumn told her as they walked out to her car.
Months passed quickly. The season ended, with Erie losing their playoff run to Guelph. The Oil Kings won the memorial cup, the LA Kings won the Stanley Cup, and the season was over. Ekblad was picked first overall in the draft. Canada Day was a blur for both girls. Their mistake for partying with Connor again. July ended fast, as well as August, and it was September before you could blink.
Connor Brown was called up to the Leafs, and Andre to the Caps. McDavid was left alone in Erie. Autumn and Victoria made a point of going to the close games when they could. It was awkward for Victoria. She had spent an entire night with this Swedish beauty, who she talked to daily, but hadn't seen since. It was weird, because the team knew too.
October passed, with a good ol' Connor Brown party for Hallowe'en. November was short lived, and then Christmas came. Autumn had been waiting for December for months. This meant it was time for the World Juniors. She was ecstatic. She had been counting down since the day she bought her tickets.
Her family wasn't able to make it to the medal rounds. It just so happened that it was a game between Canada... And Sweden. She had one person in mind that she needed to convince to come. Victoria.
"No way."
"Tor, please! We've spent thousands on these. How can you say no?" Autumn pleaded.
"With my mouth. No." Victoria said, walking away.
"You can see Andre!" Autumn whined.
"That's why I'm saying no."
"You're really gonna turn down the opportunity to support your country while watching foreign boys?" Autumn asked.
"God, fine." Victoria rolled her eyes.
Autumn smiled at her friend. She pulled out her phone and sent McDavid a text, letting him know Victoria would be coming. Connor relayed that message to Andre. Andre smiled. He couldn't wait to see Victoria again. He never thought to invite her to a game while he was in Toronto. He couldn't believe it.
So the girls went. They cheered for Canada, who managed to pull out the win on overtime. Victoria was close to positive that Autumn was the most patriotic person in the arena. She had red and white streamers through her hair, her face painted, a flag, a poster, a toque on, a jersey on, and red pants with maple leafs on. She looked like a tool, but she had reason to be proud.
Autumn cheered at every fan she saw while they waited for Connor where he instructed them to be. That was a trick. Out came Andre with his Swedish teammates. Autumn apologized before she walked off. She said something about not wanting to mortify them, and one made a comment about how she should've been the mortified one.
"Hey." Andre smiled as he walked over to Victoria.
"Hey, sorry about the game." She frowned.
"No, you're not." He argued. "Damn, Canadian." He smirked.
She laughed a bit. "I think I have a thing for foreigners." She admitted.
"Well, that's good for me then." He grinned. "Since I'm stuck in this hell hole this is all over," She rolled her eyes at him. "I was hoping we could hang out some more."
She nodded. "We definitely can." She said with a smile
