One Shots

Beau Bennett

"Then I'll just go." Beau spat, standing by the door.

Hayley shrugged, sitting on the couch. Her back was to him. He was standing at her front door while they argued. She had a cup with a straw reaching her lips. She drank from it as her eyes stayed on the TV. Beau furrowed his brows in anger.

"Like, I'll go back to Cali." He explained. She still ignored him. "You're not even bothered by that?"

"If you want to leave, you can go. I don't care." She said. "Nothing I've said has ever stopped you before."

"What if I go to Denver?" He challenged.

"Go. Have fun with your ex again." She mocked.

"Oh, come on, Hayley." He growled, walking over to her. He stood in her view of the TV. "Why are you acting like you don't care about me?"

"Because I don't." She hissed.

He laughed and nodded. "Alright. Bye then."

She waved as he walked away. Once he left, Hayley realized she had actually upset him. Usually, they were both equally as dry and sarcastic towards each other. Beau wasn't his usual self today. He seemed like something was bothering him. They weren't the type of couple to talk out their problems. They didn't really have problems. Hayley sighed as she stood up. She had to go talk to him before he left.

Beau sat in his Pittsburgh apartment. He had a flight out to his home in a couple of days. He wasn't necessarily sure if he'd be getting on it unless he talked to Hayley first. He stared at his phone, deciding if he should text her. He was pulled from that thought by a knock on his door. Maybe he'd call her after? He walked to the door and pulled it open, still staring at his phone. He looked away from it to see the person he was just thinking of.

"I'm glad you didn't leave yet or I would've wasted a lot of energy walking here." She chuckled.

"Hay, you walked here? In the rain?" Beau asked in confusion.

"Well, I had to get here some how because I needed to see you on good terms before you left." She explained.

He exhaled and let her walk in. She was wet from the rain. He grabbed her hand, guiding her to his room. He dug out some sweats and a shirt for her to wear. She caught them when he tossed them. He looked over his shoulder and smirked at the glare she was giving him. He walked towards the door of his room.

"Okay, wait." She called out and he stopped in place then turned. "I'm not changing unless we talk first."

"Can't we just have a good couple of nights before I go? I don't want to fight anymore." He sighed.

"I said talk, not fight." She rolled her eyes.

"I thought you already voiced how you felt. I was acting like a bitch and you don't care what I do." He threw his hands out. "I have no different feelings towards you than usual so we're clear here."

He walked out of the room. She tossed his clothes on his bed before she followed him out of the room. He dropped on the couch, grabbing his remote. She stomped in and stood in front of the TV. She crossed her arms and frowned at him.

"You're going to get si,"

"You weren't being a bitch. You're allowed to be upset sometimes. I do care about you." She cut him off. "I care about you a lot more than I make it seem. I just don't know how to show it."

Beau took a deep breath. "I know, Hayley."

"Yeah, you may know but I want to tell you." She stated. "I just don't want you to go back home, or to Denver, or wherever you're going, and think about how much of a bitch I am, or how much time you wasted being with me."

"I don't think either of those things." He argued as he stood up. He walked over to her and grabbed her shoulders. "I've had a lot of good times in this city and most of them were because of you. If I thought you were a waste of my time, I would've got the hell out a lot sooner."

She rolled her eyes with a smile. "But you're still leaving soon which sucks." She huffed.

He shrugged. "I mean, I could cancel my flight and we could just fly out a little later in the summer."

"What?" She cried.

"Isn't there some rule about a guy taking his girlfriend to meet his family?" He asked.

"Yeah, but,"

"Get some sunscreen so you don't burn because you're coming to Cali." He grinned.

She laughed as she walked to his room to change. "I don't burn, I just get a beautiful and tan."

"You don't need a tan to be beautiful." He yelled after her.

"Okay, now you're being a bitch." She teased.
