No Place I'd Rather Be...

Parting Ways

Patrick recovered like he was inhuman. The scars became just reminders, but healed within a month. And he was out of the hospital within the next day. Jonathan couldn’t be anymore amazed with him. This man was his best friend and now, no one else could claim him but the Captain. They were in love and the brunette was so happy that he couldn’t think straight.

Once again Patrick Kane Jr. had defied the odds and survived.

As soon as they walked out of the hospital, Jonathan scooped Patrick off of his feet and carried him to the car.

“Jonny what are you doing?”

“You’ve been through a lot Peeks, and I don’t mind carrying you.”

“You’re the best Jonny!” Patrick wrapped his hands around his friend’s neck and kissed him playfully.

The Blackhawk Captain carried him over to the car and finally set him down. They both got into the car and drove to the United Center, where all the other Blackhawks and the Psych Detectives and even coaching staff had gathered. Coach Q looked like he’d witnessed a horrible death, but brightened up, when Jonathan’s car came into view.

The Captain parked his car in his normal spot and got out. He walked over to the passenger seat and opened the door like a gentleman would do for a lady and helped his blond friend out of the vehicle.

As soon as Patrick emerged from the car, cheering sounded and sighs of relief came. Jonathan surprised Patrick again, by scooping him up into his arms and off his feet and carried him over to the crowd gathered by the front of the ice hockey arena.

“Thank God you’re okay Patrick!” Q exclaimed, wiping a tear from his eye. It was rare to see the hard-nosed Coach break down, but he did have a more sensitive side off the ice and it was what made him a good man.

“Little Peekaboo’s okay!” Patrick Sharp cried, darting forward from the crowd.

Jonathan set Patrick down on his feet and the blond was engulfed into a hug by the merry prankster.

“I’m fine, Sharpie.”

They all reconciled, hugging Patrick and telling him how relieved they all were, even Andrew Shaw, who knew when it was time to be funny and when to be serious. He was crying, as he embraced the winger.

At the end, Carlton Lassiter, Juliet O’Hara, Shawn Spencer, Buzz McNabb, and Burton Guster all came forward. Shawn hugged his hockey counterpart, who was a little freaked out, but slowly adjusted and thanked him for helping to take down the serial killer and save him. Jonathan did as well, coming forward and entangling his arm around Patrick’s. They linked hands with one another and grinned.

“I couldn’t have saved him successfully without your help, Shawn and Gus. Thank you so much and anytime you’re in Chicago, we’ll gladly hook up and get you both tickets to the game. You are welcome in the UC and an honorary diehard Blackhawk fan pairing. Kaner and I are forever in your debt.”

“That’s awesome!”

“No, Shawn, it’s sick!”

They began pestering one another, which dragged Andrew in. He began to chirp the two men, who chirped him back. He was back to being a pest.

Carlton stepped forward. He smiled at them. “Take care you two, I misjudged your bravery Toews, you’re one hell of a Captain and friend.” He winked.

Jonathan nodded his head. “I’d do anything for Peeksy.”

“Yes, keep it up. And remember to score a ton of goals and get to the playoffs,” the Head Detective said. “And don’t get into anymore trouble, Patrick Kane.”

“I won’t. Not with Jonny here!” Patrick said, as he turned to look at his best friend with shining soft blue eyes.

The centerman nuzzled against him, smiling.

“Alright, if you’re going to make out, I’m done. Pleasure meeting you two superstars and all that.” Carlton walked away, heading over to shake his head and watch the trio of goofballs, who were playfully chirping and bickering with each other.

Juliet and Buzz said their good-byes as well and the blond woman was actually hitting on Patrick Sharp, who was smiling at her. She was blushing and giggling, before Shawn parted from Gus, leaving him to chirp at Andrew alone, and came over to grab her. She made the “call me” gesture to the older thirty year old prankster, who just laughed.

Then the detectives from Santa Barbara, plus their Psychic and his black friend left the Blackhawks with one final farewell.

As soon as they were gone, Jonathan turned to his teammates and addressed them with, “So, I’ve been waiting for the right time to do this, but…” He turned to Patrick, getting down on one knee. “Patrick Timothy Kane Jr. would you--”

“YES, JONNY, YES!!” Patrick interrupted, squealing like a female. He reached down and hugged Jonathan. “I’ll marry you, Jonny, I will. I so will!”

Jonathan stood up and wrapped his arms around Patrick’s. More clapping and cat calls came from the Blackhawks. They were all happy with the move.

And so...Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were to get married before their next game, which was against the Dallas Stars.

So this is the real Keith Ballard, in case anyone was interested:

Kinda evil, isn't he? I swear, I had no idea about him before creating the killer character. Then I just hear the name "Keith Ballard" during a Lightning game and....woo-la! Imagine the laughter I had...man. That's like me guessing my roommates real middle name. ;)
He also reminds me a little bit of Bur (Adam Burish)...but BUR IS BETTER!! :D

I believe I have figured out and fixed the timeline issue of the flux in time with this. If it still doesn't read right or the time seems awkward or confusing, please let me know. :)

Okay, so around the Kazer Dinner Scene and Kinny's Torture, there is supposed to be a flux in time. Kinny's torture scene happens a day AHEAD of the Kazer Dinner. So when the Stalking Kaner chapter happens, it should be thought of as two days behind Kinny's torture. It will make sense - hopefully - coming up soon here. (I'm not sure how to stick this into the story yet, but just wanted to let all you readers know that it should be a two day difference between the two separate events: Kazer and Kinny.)

I have broken this story up into three parts, just so everyone is clear and understanding of what I am doing here. :D ~ EvelynaKitty
