As when Kennedy came back from a great weekend from Buffalo. Patrick told her that he needed to be there for one more day then he will be back to New York. Kennedy went into her office she could see that Josh’s door is close. She’s still mad at him for calling her on her weekend out in Buffalo drunk.
It has been a couple of hours later since she came to work and she hasn’t heard a peep from Josh at all. Then there was a knock on the door. When she looked up she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“Addison!” She got up from her chair and went over to give her a hug. Addison had white tulips in her hand.
“Oh my god, how are you?”
“I’m doing good.”
“So what brings you into town?”
“Stan is making me come here to look at a couple of players that they are having a small game in an hour. I just got here from Winnipeg.” They sat down on the couch that Kennedy have.
“So how’s the wedding planning going so far?”
“Good, I’m so happy to have Jon’s mom helping with everything. I can’t believe that’s a months from now, time flies does it. I remember when Jon told me when I was so drunk after the NHL awards that we were talking at the Waffle House about the wedding and that we should get tattoos. God I felt like an idoit doing that.”
“What about your mom?”
“She’s not invited, from what happen the last time I saw her it wasn’t pretty.” Then there was a knock on the door again. This time it was Josh and he look a little bit hung over.
“Kennedy, oh you have a visitor.” Josh walked into her office and had his hand out.
“I’m Josh.”
“Addison. I’m Kennedy’s friend and I haven’t seen her in a long time.”
“So what are you doing later after seeing Kennedy?” Then Addison moved her hair with her left hand to show off the ring that she was married.
“I’m going to hang out with Kennedy so I can get caught up with her and Patrick?”
“Patrick?”
“My boyfriend.” Kennedy cut into the conversation. She’s getting tried of telling Josh who Patrick is.
“Well when you are done talking to your friend than I need you in my office.” When Josh left her office both Addison and Kennedy rolled their eyes. Addison sat down on the couch next to Kennedy.
“So that’s Josh? Man he’s such a tool. Why are you even still here?”
“It’s a job that I worked my ass off and what if Jon did that to you would you quit on the spot?”
“No but I would have told HR about the situation. Beside that was gross him trying to pick up a girl that’s getting married and who’s pregnant.” It took a second of Kennedy to pick up the last part.
“I know I wonder how Jon, wait what did you say?”
“I’m pregnant!” They both scream and started to hug each other.
“When did you find out?”
“About a couple of weeks ago but I am a three months along now.”
“What was Jon’s face? What about his mom?”
“It was like he won the cup again. He’s so happy that he’s going to be a farther. His mom is ready for some grandkids. So Jon is going to ask Patrick this but would you be the god mother of your niece or nephew?”
“I would love to. Wow you have a further captain serious jr in there.” Kennedy was poking at Addison’s stomach.
“So movie tonight at my place, Patrick won’t be home till tomorrow morning.”
“Sure I need to head out to watch this hockey game then I will come over to your place.” After Addison left for the game Kennedy didn’t want to go to Josh’s office. When she went into his office it look like he was has been waiting for a long time.
“Kennedy I want to apologized for what I did over the weekend. Your page was great and it will be in the next issue when it comes out next week.”
“Thank you for your apologized.” Kennedy walked out of his office.
Kennedy was getting the movie ready for them. Addison was on her Macbook typing an email for Stan.
“So how many time has Pat has been in Buffalo?” Addison asks after sending the email.
“This would be his forth time being in Buffalo.” Kennedy came back into the room and handed Addison her plate.
“So I need to know, how did you know that you were pregnant and how did you tell Jon? Why didn’t you tell me sooner and what does Stan said about this?”
“Wow lots of questions you threw at me. Well I knew that I was when we were at Jon’s home in Winnipeg I was sick all morning long and I knew something was up because they last time we slept was on his birthday. So I called his mom to help to go to the store to get a test. When it came up positive she was the first person to know. What I did for Jon was that Jon was going to play another round of golf and I put an onies in his golf bag. In the morning before he leaves for the golf course he makes sure that he has everything ready like he does with hockey. When Jon came back in holding the onies at me. The smile never left his face.”
“What did the onies say?”
“Daddy’s future caddy. I was going to tell you but saying it in person would have been so much better and Stan knows what going on and he’s fine with it.”
“At lest you have a great boss.” Kennedy rolled her eyes.
“Yeah your boss is creepy. Have you talk to Pat about your boss?”
“A lot but he can’t do anything about it. I can’t wait for him to get here it’s always boring when he’s in Buffalo and I am here writing another page. With Josh giving so much to do it’s hard to get done with anything.”
“Do you love to job?”
“Yes I do, but the way Josh thinks that I am single it just annoying. But I also there’s this rumor that josh is might send some people to some event but no one knows anything about this.”
“Have you told Pat that to?”
“I will but I want to know if it’s true. So the Blackhawks sign Brad Richards?” Kennedy gave Addison a glare face.
“Yes I push Stan to sign him because I knew him from the Rangers but the Rangers shouldn’t have buy him out.”
“Or that you have a big crush on him since day one when he sign with the Rangers.”
“That to but I heard that he will be a daddy to just like Jon.”
“I’m going to be the best aunt for little Capitan Serious and god mother. Here I want to call Pat right now if he heard the news yet.” Kennedy grabbed her phone and when she was calling Pat it went to voicemail.
“Pat call me when you are home or when you get this bye.” When Kennedy hanged up the phone she knew that something was different.
“What?”
“Oh Pat always answers my calls and I mean always.”
“Maybe he’s out with his friends and left his phone in the car.”
“Nope he tells when he’s going to do that. Should I call his mom?”
“No, you don’t want to me that girlfriend that wants to know where Pat is all the time. That’s stressful for everyone included his family.” Kennedy puts her phone down on the coffee table and played their favorite movie “Sliver Linings Playbook.” Before Kennedy went to bed she called Pat one more time and went to voicemail.
“Hey Pat just wanted to make sure that your alive and if Jon got a hold of you because it’s like big news. So call me before you hit the road. I miss you and love you.”
In the morning Kennedy was getting ready for work. Her phone was on her bathroom counter and she’s waiting for it to go off when Pat’s face on her screen. But when she could hear that Patrick walking into the kitchen. When she came out from her room, she can see that Patrick was so hung over it wasn’t even funny.
“Really Patrick?!” Kennedy was so upset with Patrick because she though that Patrick has his drinking under control.
“Kennedy not now I have a huge headache.”
“Yea because you drank last night. Did you even bring your phone with you?”
“I left it at home when I went out with a group of guys.”
“Wow that’s a smart thing to do there.” Kennedy saying it sarcastically and crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“I called you twice because I had some big news from Addison. Did Jon call you?”
“Yea but I was out the door when he called me.”
“Pat I though you got this under control about you and drinking.”
“I do.”
“Not to me it’s not. I miss you a lot when you’re in Buffalo.” Then her phone was ringing. It was Josh calling her.
“Look I have to go but I’m not done talking about what happen last night.” She didn’t say goodbye or I love you to Pat. Just grabbed her things and went to work. When she was down at the lobby she was calling Josh back.
“Hey Josh sorry I didn’t answer didn’t hear my phone going off.”
“That’s ok. When you get here I need you do to something for me.” Walking into Josh’s office he look back to normal.
“So Josh you wanted to see me?”
“Yes, I am sending you to LA.”
