Just Say Yes

When Kennedy’s plane landed in Denver, Colorado she knew that she had a long trip going to Vail, Colorado. On the plane she was studying a little bit of who is Sidney Crosby. It wasn’t that hard when everyone knows who is Sidney Crosby. As she got off the plane she hears her phone ringing. It was Addison.
“Hey Addison.”
“So I heard that you’re going to see Crosby.”
“How did you know?”
“Jon told me that he was talking to Patrick yesterday. Patrick is very upset about himself and that he should have come with you on the trip.”
“Right now I’m upset with Patrick right now because he thinks that it’s ok to leave me in New York while he’s in Buffalo playing hockey. I mean does he really care for me at all.”
“Yes he does Kennedy. I mean he bought you a place in New York, he made you that amazing office at home and he’s trying his best to be in two places.”
“He came home hung over Addison. I thought that he got it under control since we have been dating. What would happen if you had to stay in Chicago and Jon needed to go back to Winnipeg, how would you feel about that?”
“I’ll be lonely because he’s my everything.”
“That’s how I feel about Patrick when he told me that he was going to be with me in New York. It’s been a month since being in New York but I haven’t seen him than only two weeks because he’s always in Buffalo. Then you have Josh who’s trying to do anything to break Patrick and I up. I could see it in Patrick’s eye that he wants to do something about it but he knows that it’s my career on the line if he does anything bad.” The rest of the ride to Vail they were talking about how the wedding is going to be the best thing ever this summer. Jon and Addison will know what they are having and they are going to tell everyone at the wedding with their cake.
“That’s a great idea. God I can’t wait to see you and in your wedding dress. It’s feels like forever since I’ve seen the dress.”
“I know but we have more news I needed to tell you.”
“Yea?”
“So when Jon found out that I was having his kid. He wants us to moved outside of downtown. He put the condo up on the market today.”
“Wow that’s great but have you found out a place yet?”
“No we are going to wait after the wedding. Jon doesn’t want me to get all stress out from the wedding, work and finding another place. Beside I think he found a place anyway."
“Well Jon is going to be a great husband and a farther. Before I let you go can you tell me more about Crosby and I think Matt Duchene is going to be with us. I know that he was on Team Canada.” Addison was filling more info for Kennedy about Crosby and Duchene.
“Don’t worry these guys are great.”
“Thanks can’t wait to see you in a week.”
When Kennedy got to her hotel she had a dinner meeting with Crosby and Duchene. All she needed to do was change into something different. After changing she was out of her hotel door when she got a text from Patrick.
“Hope that you’re flight wasn’t bad and I hope that we would talk soon. I miss and love you.” The restaurant that they pick out was only a block away from her hotel. Looking around for the guys she spotted them in the way back just talking.
“Sidney and Matt?” They both looked up at Kennedy.
“I’m Kennedy Blackwood from ESPN.” They both got up from their chair and shook her hand. Once they all settle back into their chairs. They just talked about everything that they could have thought of.
“So you’re friends with Addison Sharp?”
“Yea we have been friends since we were little. Are you going to the wedding?” They both nodded their head.
“Addison does talk a lot about you when we were in Russia and that you’re dating Patrick Kane. How come we didn’t see you in Russia?”
“I was but I was there for my job so I was everywhere.” She could see in the corner of her eye that Matt couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Kennedy thinks that Matt is hot but she would never cheat on Patrick with Matt. Sidney had to leave to get some rest for tomorrow and so he left. Matt and Kennedy were still there talking about more about themselves. Matt had a girlfriend but they couldn’t be on the right page so they remind friends.
“So I have to ask about Kane. What do you see in him? Just asking.”
“Well, I meet him when I first moved here from Thunder Bay and he was going through a tough time with a break up. I knew that I was having feelings for him but it took awhile for him to get feelings for me. Right now Patrick and I aren’t on the same page and I don’t want to lose him. He helped me out with a lot of stuff.”
When they both looked at the clock they didn’t relies that it was close to 11 and Kennedy was getting tired. They both headed to their hotel room.
“See you in the morning.” She nodded her head and walked in. As she change into something more comfortable her phone was ringing. It was Patrick. She didn’t know if she wants to talk to him about her day. Or that he’s trying his best not to lose her like what happen to Matt. So she led it straight to voicemail.

In the morning Kennedy knew that she was going to wear some workout gear. By the time she was ready there was a knock on the door. When she opens the door it was Sidney and Matt waiting for her.
“Are you ready?” She nodded her head and they both headed to the gym. They stay at the gym and Kennedy just watched them while she was on the treadmill. She couldn’t believe her eyes of how much work they put into their bodies for just a game. It was such a nice day outside that they all went for a hike. Kennedy took lots of photos of the hike and sends them to Addison. Then she got a text from Patrick.
“Hope your having fun on your first day. Please talked to me I miss your voice.” The last time Kennedy heard that was when she was waking up from her coma.
“Hey are you ok?” Matt turns around and sees that there are tears coming down her face.
“Yea it’s a long story.” Matt went by her side and his face showed her that he wanted to know what’s this long story is about.
“Well it all happen when I fell down some stairs and went into a coma.” She told Matt everything about her coma.
“I just got a text from Patrick saying that he misses my voice it just reminding of my coma. That he was there for me when I though I was dead.”
“Wow.” Matt said. Matt put his arm around her shoulder and they walked a little bit more.
“Sid, let’s turn around and grab some lunch because I can hear Kennedy’s stomach.”

That night she was typing up her story when Patrick was calling her. Now she needed to answer the phone.
“Hey.” Then she heard a slight of relief when Patrick heard her voice.
“Thank you for answering your phone. How are you?”
“I’m good. Are you in Buffalo right now?”
“Yea, I’m in the living room trying to tell Jackie to change the channel because she’s been on the couch all day watching more episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Kennedy does miss his sister a lot.
“So how was your day?”
“Good, we leave in the morning for LA. One day in LA and then I’m going to just head over to Winnipeg.”
“Oh.”
“What?”
“I though that you were going to fly back here to New York and we fly together.”
“Patrick that’s a lot of flying and I thought it would be easier to do that. Why are you making it more difficult right now?”
“I’m not I just thought.”
“Yes you just thought about you. Listen Patrick I got to go and finish before I leave for LA. So I will talk to you later.” Before she hung up the phone she could hear him say I love you.
