20: Lovin' You Is Fun

"We're having such a good time together and it's only just begun, my heart's never smiled so hard baby, lovin' you is fun..."

In between the days that consisted of Cassidy going to class and looking for a job, and Jamie either at practice or at a game, there were fun times. Although dating a rising star and the face of a franchise had perks, there were definitely downsides to the whole thing. Like trying to have a nice, quiet, romantic evening at dinner while inquisitive paparazzi snap pictures. Or walking down the street arm and arm, and suddenly having a group of young girls bombard the sidewalk, thrusting cameras and pens in the air.

Whatever the case, both Cassidy and Jamie tried to make the best out of the situation. And since the press conference, it was apparent that there was more media coverage surrounding Jamie. Everywhere they went there seemed to be at least one person ready to steal a picture of them together. Because the information was fresh and new, there was obvious interest.

“I don’t want the media spoiling a perfectly good thing.” Jamie said one night while he visited the apartment. And then another day after practice, “once the novelty of our relationship wears off, people will go back to not caring.”

He seemed very sure of it all, but for the most part, Cassidy was thankful that he seemed to take all of this in stride. It was making the transition easier for her. So in between the mess surrounding their relationship, they had managed to make memories with each other; which all resulted in them falling even more head over heels in love with each other.

“You grew up on a farm! You should know how to do this!” Jamie mocked as he handed Cassidy the shotgun.

She pulled her hands away, practically unwilling to take the gun from him. “Jamie, not everyone from Nashville, Tennessee, grew up chawin’ on tobacco, and slinging firearms.”

Jamie thrust the gun into her hands, stepping behind her to be away from the barrel. “Cass, did your dad teach you to shoot a gun?”

Cassidy stared at him with the gun cradled in her arms, “a BB gun when I was seven. But I was only shooting at Coke cans, not things flying in the air!”

He smiled and turned her around to face the field. With his hands over hers, he loaded the gun and set his hands on her shoulders. “It’s basically a BB gun… only more lethal, so don’t be pointing that thing at me.”

Cassidy glared back at him as he backed away from her, holding his hands up as if signifying that he was innocent. Looking back at the field, she hoisted the gun up, one hand beneath the barrel and the other on the trigger as she set her cheek down on the stock of the shotgun.

“Pull!” Jamie yelled from behind her.

At first, his voice startled her. But after his command, a bright orange disk went flying through the air. Cassidy followed it with the gun for a quick moment before she fired, missing the first time. With the disk still in the air, but closer to the ground now, she quickly cocked the gun and fired again, hitting the disk, splitting it in half and watched as it went spiraling to the ground.

When she turned back to look at Jamie, his jaw was dropped and he brought his hands up to his baseball cap, turning it around on his head until it faced backwards. “My girlfriend is badass,”

She giggled and propped the shotgun back on her shoulder, sticking her hip out to the side and bit her lip teasingly, “if you’re lucky, I’ll show you my technique sometime.” Cassidy turned on her heels and looked back out, loading and cocking the gun again, “pull!”

A new disk went flying through the air. With confidence, Cassidy tracked it for a moment, shot her eyes back at Jamie, winked, and then fired without looking back at the disk. When the orange clay ricocheted in different directions, Jamie buried his face in his hands.

“So you’ve gone skeet shooting once or twice in your day?” He murmured, shaking his head as he looked back at Cassidy.

She blushed and set the butt of the gun on the floor, leaning against it slightly. “I said not everyone from Nashville grows up slinging guns.” She giggled and handed the gun back to Jamie, “when your daddy sits on the front porch, with a .30-30 in his lap while he waits for you to return from a date, you learn pretty quickly how to shoot one.” When Jamie stared at her confused and laughed nervously, she held the gun by her side.

Cassidy giggled and stepped closer to Jamie, standing up on her tiptoes to reach his lips and kiss him quickly. He set the gun down and wrapped his arms around her tightly, swinging her around as they kissed lustfully, becoming distracted from their previous activity.

“Tell me again why we’re headed up to Frisco on your day off?” Cassidy murmured from the passenger seat of Jamie’s car. Her hand was set on top of the center console, tapping along to the music playing softly in the car.

“Because the minor league baseball team has a game today. And despite popular belief, I happen to enjoy sports that don’t involve a puck.” Jamie looked over at her quickly before returning his attention to the road. He placed his hand on top of hers, clutching it gently.

Cassidy sighed and looked out the window as the landscape rushed by as Jamie drove down the highway, “and how long before we get there?”

“Ten, fifteen minutes maybe.” He glanced at his watch quickly, looking up as Cassidy slipped her hand away from his.

By his shocked expression, she knew he wasn’t expecting her to continue the way she had. She set her hand in Jamie’s lap, stroking him gently from outside his jeans, smirking at his reaction. Too preoccupied with driving, she knew he couldn’t overreact, for the fear that someone else might be able to tell what was going on. Just a second later, Cassidy unbuttoned his jeans, giving him a moment to lift his hips so she could just barely push his pants down. That was followed up by lowering his boxers just enough for her hand to wrap around his shaft.

Jamie brought one hand up to his mouth, cupping it over his lips to hide the boyish smile that spread over his face. “If you give me road head… one, that’ll be a dream come true. And two, unfortunately it might cause me to crash the car.”

Cassidy set her head against the headrest of her seat and stared up at him as her hand slipped over his length, feeling him grow harder and harder in her hands. He tried to hold back his groans but was mostly unsuccessful as he tightened his grip around the steering wheel, the muscles in his forearms pulsing wildly.

“I think I love you, Jamie Benn.” She giggled and tightened her grip around him, making her strokes happen at a painfully slow pace.

He sunk back in his seat, smiling as she spoke and shook his head slightly, “I suppose I should say I love you too, considering you’ve got my cock in your hands.” He glanced at her quickly, feeling her hand begin to move faster up and down his shaft. “I love you too, Cassidy Knox.”

As Jamie exited the highway, he looked out the window, seeing the street traffic pick up as they got closer to the stadium. His erection was apparent, and Cassidy could feel it throb in her hand. Only when Jamie convinced her that he didn’t want to show the public his erection, did Cassidy pull her hand away. While driving, Jamie did his best to pull his pants back up to their proper place, and only succeeded in buttoning them again after they had parked at the stadium.

Then, he unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over the center console, kissing Cassidy gently as his tongue moved past her lips and into her mouth to play with hers. It didn’t help the bulge in his pants by doing this, in fact, it probably made it worse, but he wanted to kiss her. He needed to kiss her.

“You are looking at the Victoria grill master of 2011,” Jamie smirked as he set a piece of steak onto the barbecue. It began to sizzle against the hot grill.

It was a Saturday in mid-April, an off day for the team after they’d just come back from a week and a half road trip, which had resulted in a three game winning streak. The team would soon be on their way to the playoffs, enduring harsh battles with top-notch teams in the western conference. Jamie and Jordie were hosting a party for the team. But being one and the same, they overenthusiastically referred to it as “the barbecue event to trump all barbecue events”. Everyone was dispersed through the backyard, talking, swimming, and enjoying the day off.

Cassidy was standing beside Jamie as he grilled the steaks, and Tyler was nursing a beer, taking part in mindless banter with Kennedy, who had also been invited.

“Am I now?” Cassidy wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning into his body, “I knew there was a good reason as to why I started dating you.” She giggled and looked at Tyler and Kennedy, who were obviously reveling in each other’s presence, even if it were only for the night.

Jamie nodded and set another steak on the grill, before he set the tongs down and wrapped one of his arms around Cassidy’s shoulders, his wrist falling limp in front of her. “Let me tell you, you lucked out with me.” He placed his lips on the top of her head, taking a deep breath in. “Join me inside for a moment?”

He smiled and pulled away from her, pulling open the glass door and disappeared into the house. Cassidy looked around quickly before she followed him in. Jamie was moving down the hallway towards one of the guest bedrooms and she followed him, careful to make sure no one else followed. Once in the room, Jamie quickly leaned in, cupped her face, and kissed her quickly, snaking his arms around her body, hands clutching onto her ass tightly.

Cassidy smiled against his lips, tugging away from them, and then bit her lower lip as Jamie began to kiss her neck. She set her hands on his shoulders, steadying herself, “Jame, there are people outside.”

“I know,” he mumbled against her skin, “that’s why I came in here.”

“And the steaks are on the grill,”

“They need some time to cook,” he bit the skin of her neck, gently.

She set her hand on the back of his neck and pulled away from his lips, looking up at him, as he stood up straighter. “Not now. This is something I expect from Tyler and Kennedy… let’s not put them to shame,” Cassidy smiled slightly and stood on her tiptoes to reach Jamie’s lips.

@KitoftheKat thank you so much! I'm actually working on the sequel now, but doing so in combination with writing and putting up my other story Wild About You. I'm not sure when I'll put the sequel up, but definitely expect it :)
