Forever and Always

Madeline laid next to Aaron as he slept, the morning light was coming in through the blacked out shades on her windows and he looked so perfect in this moment. "I love you." She whispered, kissing the back of his neck as he continued sleeping. "I love you too Mads." She smirked as he woke up and turned onto his back. "Come here." He pulled her onto him and kissed her softly. "I want to wake up to you everyday for the rest of my life. Promise me that will happen." He kissed her forehead. "Technically A, it can't happen. I'll be in Toronto this season, you will be in Florida, how is this going to work? We never really talked about the next step." The two of them have been in this crazy, messy, beautiful relationship for five years, they were getting older they needed to start making grown up choices. "The draft is soon..." She nodded. "I know, i'll be at the leafs table like always." He smiled. "And I'll be at the leafs table also." She looked at him weirdly. "What are you talking about? You a Panther, Panthers don't sit at the Leafs table, they sit at the Panthers table stupid." He grabbed his phone and handed it to her. A confused look washed over her face as she started scrolling through texts, a lot of texts. For 8 am there were about 200 texts. "Congrats Aaron! An original 6 team!! Congrats to you and M love ya man." Nathan MacKinnon. Why was Nathan MacKinnon saying that? There were more messages from it seemed like half the hockey community. More congrats, more Original 6 team messages. "What's going on?" Madeline's phone started ringing off the hook like crazy, and blowing up. She grabbed it and started seeing kind of the same messages. She looked at him. "AARON EKBLAD WHAT DID YOU DO!" He smirked at her. "Asked for a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs." She covered her mouth with her hands as her phone dropped. What did he just do to his career?

Morgan Rielly was woken up early with texts from all different hockey players asking if the rumors were true, did Aaron Ekblad really ask for a trade to the Maple Leafs? Was he really going to be defending the blue line with his very best friend? Were the three amigos going to be bleeding blue together? Did Aaron just throw away being a franchise leader for a girl? It was all true. Aaron asked for a trade before the draft, giving the Panthers enough time to trade him to the leafs and open the chances for more draft picks. Aaron was officially a Toronto Maple Leaf. And in a couple moments, something bigger was about to happen, that only he knew about. He smiled in bed, as Lauren slept on. This morning was going to be a morning Madeline, Aaron and him remembered as a life changing, life altering morning. Get those #5 jerseys out, Leafs fans.

Madeline straddled Aaron, who had a goofy grin on his face instead of his signature bad boy smirk. "I can't believe you." He shrugged. "Florida was never going to be my home, I love it, Sunrise is an amazing place but my home is here, Toronto with you and Morgan. I'll always be thankful for Florida giving me my start but babe a little piece of me broke during the draft because I just always pictured myself wearing the Blue and White. Don't think you didn't have anything to do with it either, I am never letting you go again. So I made the choice for the both of us. It's a contract year, and I can't wait to pull on the jersey with you." He pulled her chin down so he could kiss her, she laid down on him, their bodies pressed up against each other. She loved him, it was always Aaron, and it will always be Aaron. Aaron. He gently untangled her body from his as she fell next to him on her bed. He got up and walked over to his khaki pants that were strewn on her couch. "Did I ever say how good those boxers make your ass look?" He let out a laugh. "I think this is the 150th time." She smiled. He pulled out a red little box and looked back at her. She looked at him. "I like gifts! What did you get me? Earrings? A necklace? A bracelet! You know the way into my heart A is through Cartier." She smiled getting off the bed and throwing on his Barrie Colts t-shirt. It had holes in it, and looked like it was headed for the garbage but he would never stop wearing it. He got down on one knee as she stood in front of him. "Aaron...What are you doing?" He put a finger to his lips, telling her to be quiet. "I love you Madeline Gilmore, so fucking much it hurts. When I saw you slipping out of my hands and into Morgan's I freaked. I couldn't imagine you not being mine. You are the only girl i've called mine and the only one I want to call mine for the rest of my life. I am here Madeline and I am not going anywhere. So will you do the honor of being mine for the rest of our lives. Mads will you marry me?" She started crying uncontrollably. "Aaron we're so young, we have our whole lives ahead of us. But I can't picture anything better then being Madeline Ekblad. I love you so much, yes!" He slipped the 50k diamond ring onto her left finger and got up off his knee. "Lauren's going to hate us so much." He laughed. "There's another wedding happening soon."
"Ours." Madeline looked at the ring, taking it off and putting it back on, it glistened. Then she saw the inscription. "Always and Forever." She cried. "Always and Forever Aaron." He looked at her. "That's the plan pretty girl."
This summer just got more interesting.
