Goodbye Girl

6/25

Emily sat with her drink in hand as Jamie and Tyler worked the crowd. She watched girls swoon over them. Truth be told, she'd probably throw herself at them too if she didn't know how they were outside of the whole NHL star persona.

The girl staring at Jamie with the "Fuck Me" eyes wouldn't be giving him that look if she witnessed his crying after My Girlor Stand By Me. She'd probably stare in disbelief as he blubbered on about how Thomas J. shouldn't have died.

The blonde with herself straddling Tyler's lap wouldn't be dripping in her panties if she saw him screaming at any and every scary movie they ever watched. Blondie would definitely hit the road if she saw Tyler having to share a bed with Emily and sleep with his light on for a week after seeing The Conjuring.

Em let out a laugh while she watched her two man-child roommates being mauled by every female in the building. She sipped from her glass and noticed the blonde climbing off Tyler. She dragged her finger along his face before quickly walking off.

Tyler shot up, smoothing his clothes out. He looked around for somewhere to escape. He spotted Emily, looking phenomenal, with her lethal legs crossed, sitting on a couch alone. Her lips wrapped around the rim of her glass as she slowly took a sip. He licked his lips as he approached.

Emily looked towards the area where Jamie was now alone. She glanced around the club for Tyler but didn't see him. The couch sank beside her. She looked to her right and spotted Tyler. His eyes were dark and he was staring at her. She smiled. His eyes went from hers down to her lips.

"Tyler," She called. He looked back to her eyes. "Don't do anything stupid." She whispered.

"Would it really be stupid, Emily?" He growled, moving closer to her.

"Yes, very." She pursed her lips as she drank from her glass.

Tyler kept his eyes in her lips after that. Emily avoided looking at him. She could feel his gaze still on him. Her eyes surveyed the club, trying to spy Jamie. She wished he would come over and distract Tyler from acting how he was. She also wished Tyler would pin her down on the couch and have his way with him.

No
.

Emily looked at Tyler. He grinned at her. He placed a hand on her knee. She grabbed his hand with both of hers. He leaned towards her.

"You're drunk, Tyler, and you're not thinking straight,"

"I'm supposed to think straight with you in that dress?" He cocked a brow.

She took a deep breath. "How pissed would you be if I went back to James?" She asked.

Tyler suddenly sobered up. "No, nope. No way in Hell, Emily. I'll kill the guy. You're too good for his bullshit." He could've sworn he was shaking.

She smiled and squeezed his hand. "See, you're like a brother to me. Stop with the looks." She sighed. "James would probably kill you too if anything every happened between you and I, and I don't want you to die."

Tyler was embarrassed. "Alcohol and testosterone got the best of me." He chuckled.

"It's okay." Emily smiled. "Now let's find Jamie and go home."

She held onto his hand and stood up. Their fingers kept tangled together as they searched the club for their friend. Emily had no idea where he would be. Tyler had some. He spotted Jamie at the bar, in a mob of females.

"Bingo." He said, pointing.

Em followed his point and nodded. Tyler followed behind her, keeping close. Her ass rubbed against him as she pushed past people and he swallowed hard.

I wonder if Emily swallows
. He thought.

He shook it off, continuing to trail behind. They made it to the bar. Emily stopped, letting go of Tyler's hand. She turned to face him. His eyes locked on her lips, again.

"He isn't just going to leave. Not with that many hot girls around him." Tyler took a deep breath.

Emily furrowed her brows and looked down while she thought for a moment. A grin spread across her face before she rose her stare back to Tyler.

"I have a plan!" She exclaimed.

"Which is?"

"Just follow my lead." She smirked, turning around.

Emily broke through the girls surrounding Jamie. She let out a screech, catching the attention of him and the girls on top of him. Jamie looked at Em in confusion.

"Are you kidding me?! We're getting married in a month!" She yelled at Jamie.

One of the girls stepped off of him. Tyler now understood. He stepped into the mob too. Jamie looked at him for an answer.

"I tried to stop her, man." Tyler sighed.

"I can't believe this!" Emily put on the fake tears. "Everyone was right about you, Trevor! I ignored them all and then I find you doing this!"

"Trevor? He said his name was Jamie?" The second girl on him said as she stepped away.

"No, this is my fiancé, Trevor." Emily sobbed, wiping her eyes.

"I'm not,"

"Trev, we should probably just go before you make it worse." Tyler put a hand on Jamie's shoulder.

Jamie got up and followed Emily out with Tyler at his side. Once they were out of the club, a grinning Emily turned around. She wiped her eyes before Tyler tapped his fist to hers.

"What the fuck is going on?" Jamie growled. "My name isn't Trevor and we aren't getting married!"

"I know." She smiled.

"What the hell, Em?" He cocked his brow.

She smiled at Tyler. He laughed a bit before he stepped beside her. Jamie stared at the two of them in a mixture of anger and confusion, on top of being drunk. Tyler looked down at Em who was looking up at him.

"Did you two fuck?" Jamie gasped.

"What?!" "No!" They shouted in sync.

"I wanted to leave so we made up a plan to get you out." Emily sighed.

"We didn't have sex." Tyler added.

"The way you gazed into each other's eyes says different." Jamie stated as he staggered to a cab that had just pulled up.

He had no idea if it was theirs, but he was getting in it. He fell into the front seat. Emily ran after him with Tyler following closely behind her. They both climbed into the back. Emily told the driver their address and he sped off.

"We didn't gaze into each other's eyes." Tyler broke the silence.

"Okay, man." Jamie laughed.

The rest of the drive was silent. One of the turns caused Tyler's knee to bump Emily's. He looked over to apologize but she was staring out the window. That's when he could tell that Jamie hit a nerve.

Emily took a deep breath, pulling her phone from her clutch. She saw she had four texts from James. She let her breath out as she scrolled through them.

J: Hey if you're not busy it'd be great to talk

J: I guess you are so I'll just say what's up over text

J: Basically conditioning is rough, I'm over being the little brother of the team, and I'm debating on quitting hockey right now

J: Oh and I'm missing you being here to cheer me up like crazy but that's nothing new

Emily held back a groan but threw her head back. She whacked her head off something plastic and let out an 'ow'. Tyler tapped her leg. She looked at him, hand on her head.

"You alright?" He said with a chuckle.

"Yup." She popped the 'p' and turned back to her window.

The cab pulled up to the apartment. Emily climbed out instantly, walking inside. Tyler handed the driver, more than enough, and helped Jamie out of the cab. He guided his friend to the lobby and Emily was gone.
