Settle Down

Charley Anne Ackerman is Jackie Kane's best friend. They grew up together and could count on one hand how many fights they'd been in. They were inseparable.

When Charley decided to transfer to the Northwestern Medical School, her mother was not allowing her live alone in Chicago when she was just 21. Since Donna Kane and Charley's mom Ashely had become close friends over the years, Donna Kane suggested Charley live with Patrick Kane. Both mothers thought this was a great idea, and basically forced it upon the two. Charley couldn't go unless she lived with him, and Patrick couldn't say no to his mom.

Living together would be problematic though. Patrick and Charley hated each other. When they were little, they constantly made fun of each other and tried anything they could to get on the others nerves. When they grew up a little, they couldn't talk without arguing or yelling at each other. Now, whenever Patrick returned home and they were around each other, the pair would just blatantly ignore one another. Neither were aware of why their parents thought this was a good idea, but there wasn't much that could be done about it.

Charley would be moving just after New Years, and neither of the two were looking forward to it.
