Audrey stopped getting ready as she looked out her window. The Reinharts backyard was looking rather empty. Their pool chairs were all gone and the toys they had floating in the pool were all gone. She shrugged it off to continue on her make up. She'd be heading over there soon, she could ask then.

Sam had planned a date for them that night. She had been looking forward to it for a while. It was their last bit of time together before the season started up. She finished getting ready and grabbed her phone. She scrolled down Twitter as she climbed down her stairs.

All the girls were posting weird tweets. She'd ask about it later. It was clear they were all tweeting about the same thing. She brushed it off, tucking her phone in her bag as she walked out the door. She walked around the corner quickly. She was excited for today. Her phone rang with Danielle's name.

"Hey." She answered.

"Have you talked to Sam?" Dani asked.

"Yeah, at school. I'm on my way to his house now." Audrey explained.

"Michael told me something and I really need you to be,"

"Dan, I'm almost at Sam's. I'll call you after okay. I promise." Audrey cut her off before she hung up.

She slowed down as she saw out front. All of the ornaments and cute seasonal decorations Theresa kept out front were gone. The house looked bare. She felt her stomach flip as she walked down the path. Maybe it was just fall cleaning?

Paul came out with a box. He smiled at her. "Sam's up in his room." He told her as he walked off the porch.

She nodded, walking into the house. The house was all packed up. That made her feeling like full out vomiting. This is what Danielle wanted to talk to her about. She kicked off her shoes and left them where the shoe rack once was. She ran upstairs.

She knocked on Sam's door. She was scared to walk in and see his things all packed. He opened the door. He gave her a small smile. She tilted her head to the side, crossing her arms. He walked over to his bed. She took a deep breath and stepped in, closing the door behind him. His room was boxes too.

"Are you gonna fill me? Because everyone else seems to know." She hissed.

"It wasn't because I didn't want you to know, I just didn't know how to tell you." He told her, standing up.

"So tell me now." She crossed her arms again.

"We're moving back to Vancouver." He spoke. Her face fell as well as her arms. "My dad got a j,"

You can't." She spoke, looking up at him. "I need you to stay."

He stepped forward, pulling her into him. "I want to, baby. I don't want to leave you."

Audrey wasn't crying. She wasn't saying anything. She just had her head resting on his chest while she held onto him. She didn't want to accept what he was saying. She refused to. He just held her tight.

"Do you still want to go on that date?" He whispered into her hair.

She shrugged. "Anything as long as I'm with you."

He smiled. "Let's just stay in."

So they did. They laid around in Sam's bed for the rest of the day. Audrey decided against sleeping over. She gave him a long kiss before he walked her downstairs. He watched as she put her shoes on. He looked back at his mom. She frowned at her son. He just turned back to Audrey.

"Want me to walk you home?" He asked, pulling her into him.

She shook her head. "You've had a long day. Go get some sleep." She smiled before kissing him.

As soon as Audrey was down the path, she felt the tears rolling down her cheeks. She tried to wipe them and stop but she couldn't. She called Danielle.

"Hey,"

"Did you know?" Audrey cried.

"Know what?" Dani replied. "Are you okay?"

"About Sam!" Audrey yelped.

"All I know is that he was going to give you bad news." Danielle admitted. "What did he say?"

"Nothing. Don't worry about it." Audrey wiped her eyes, hanging up.

She turned her phone off and ran the rest of the way home. She walked into her house, slamming the front door behind her. Dustin peeked from the kitchen as she pulled her shoes off. He noticed she was upset. He walked out. She kept her head down as she walked to the stairs.

"Hey, you alright?" He touched her shoulder.

She brushed past, running upstairs. He followed closely behind. She tried to slam her bedroom door but he jammed his foot in the door. She let out a whine before she dropped face down onto her bed. He walked in, sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Audrey, talk to me." He sighed, rubbing her back.

"He's leaving." She mumbled, crying harder.

"Who's leaving?" Her dad furrowed his brows.

"Sam!" She yelped, sitting up. "He's moving back to Vancouver!"

Dustin frowned, pulling her into his side. "That's awful, hun. I'm sorry." He sighed. "What's the team gonna do?"

She shot back, glaring at him. "Get out." She hissed.

"Aud,"

"Get out!" She screamed before she started shoving him.

He did as he was told. Her door slammed behind him and he sighed. "Your mom and I are taking your siblings to your grandparents tomorrow. I want to talk more before that."

"I don't want to talk to you." She growled, wiping her face.

The next day, Audrey was blaring music and halfway done a bottle of vodka in her room at home alone. She had ignored all her friends messages. But she had contacted someone else. Audrey apparently had a thing for drunk texting people she shouldn't even talk to. Nathan was on his way to come over and console her.

He walked right into her house, kicking off his shoes and going up to her room. She just frowned at him as he walked in. He sat down on the floor beside him. She offered him some vodka but he shook his head. She shrugged, taking a swig. She rested her head on Nathan's shoulder.

Nathan just kept an arm around her while she cried. In that time, it helped him realize that she loved Sam. She really did. He let out a sigh as he rubbed her upper arm. How was he a big enough asshole to want to ruin that for her. For Sam, his own teammate.

She shot up, crawling across the floor. Nathan watched her in confusion. She yanked her phone off the dock, filling the room with silence. He leaned forward in case he'd have to take it from her. She growled and slid it to him.

"I need to talk to him." She cried.

"Why are you giving it to me then?" Nathan frowned as he picked it up

"My passcode." She admitted. "It's twenty three, twenty seven."

He typed it and it opened to an organized home screen with Sam as the background. Nathan looked up at Audrey, her hand was extended to him. He slowly handed it back to her.

"Are you gonna call him?" He asked.

"No, I don't want him to hear me crying." She breathed, wiping her face.

She brushed her hair back with her free hand as she typed with the other. She attempted to type "hi Sammy" but her intoxication didn't let that come out. There was a 'J' in the place of the 'I' and a 'B' in his name. He replied right away, asking if she was drunk.

I denak anentire bottle of vodk a i ened you

Sam took a deep breath. He knew what that said no matter how butchered it was. He sat up in his bed, leaning to the side as he typed a reply.

I'm still right behind you.

She cried harder at his reply. Yeah, he was right now but she didn't know when he was leaving. She just stared at his message, trying to think of something to say.

it doenst feel liek it

Sam squeezed his eyes shut. He set his phone down and got back into bed. He loved Audrey, but he had too much to deal with right now. He didn't need to add to that stress by dealing with the drunk mess she was. He knew he couldn't go to bed on that note. He reached for his phone.

We can talk tomorrow. I love you.

Audrey's expression changed as she read that message. Nathan watched her. She smiled a bit, looking up slowly. She had makeup and tears everywhere. She smiled at Nathan before looking down at her phone again.

"He said he loves me." She mumbled, lifting her head back up. "Sam loves me."

"You love him too." Nathan stated.

"I do?" She furrowed her brows.

He nodded. "I can tell. You wouldn't be acting like this if you didn't, Aud."

"I mean, yeah." She shrugged.

"But do you love him or are you in love with him?" He hummed.

"I don't know." She shook her head, waiting for him to tell her.

"Oh, I don't either." He chuckled, standing up. "That's what you have to figure out."

Audrey stood up, giving Nathan a hug. "Thank you for being here for me." She smiled at him.

"That's what friends are for." He grinned before he walked out.

Now, she needed to figure it out. Did she just love Sam or what she in love with Sam?
