Sam found himself in the basement for the seventh night in a row. He lived with Audrey, and they hadn't spoken a word since the previous Friday. It had been a full week. He sighed as he laid on his back, scrolling on his phone. Yeah, there was TV and some gaming systems down here, but he wasn't up for anything. Since their fight, all he went out for was school or practice. All she left the house for was school. Neither had spoken to their friends in a while.

At practice, Sam had just been quiet. Everyone knew that something had happened between them. They were never that distant. It was clearly a big thing too, seeing how Audrey wasn't talking to anyone either, and Audrey talked a lot. She wasn't herself and Sam wasn't himself. All their friends were worried but no one knew how to fix it. Probably because no one agreed on the situation. Some were on Sam's side, while others were on Audrey's, but no one wanted to get into it.

Sam's scrolling was interrupted by a phone call. Kaylynn was calling him. He furrowed his brows but answered it. He raised it to his ear slowly. He heard some chatter before he took a deep breath.

"Hello?"

"Sam, are you at home?" She asked, shuffling in the background.

"Yeah, why?" He said as he sat up.

"Audrey just got off the phone with us and she's really upset," She began. "And I know you're fighting but she was crying and she thinks you don't need her as much as she needs you, and I don't know."

Sam was already walking up the stairs. "What else did she say?"

"Nothing. She cried mostly." She sighed.

Sam hung up without another word. He ran up the rest of the basement stairs. Then he walked to the upstairs steps just as fast. He ran up those as well. No one was home, asides from the pair. That's how Sam knew Audrey was the one in the shower. He started to pound on it.

Audrey jumped at the pounding. She looked over at the door. She reached for a towel as she pulled back the curtain. She wrapped it around her body and slowly walked towards the door. She pulled it open and saw Sam. He stepped forward, grabbing her face and pressing his lips to hers. She kissed back, trying to hold back her tears. He pulled back, holding onto her face.

"I love you more than I ever thought I could love someone. I need you, so much, I don't know why you would ever doubt that. You're the most important thing in my life." He confessed, staring into her eyes.

She saw his eyes glossing over and wrapped her arms around him. He held her just as tightly. She let her tears fall freely as he kissed the top of her head. She couldn't explain her relief.

"All I do when I think of you or when you're mentioned is smile. Whenever I'm with the guys, you're all I fucking talk about. Don't ever doubt my love for you." He whispered, kissing her head again.

"That's all I want," She spoke, leaning back to look up at him. "Someone that never shuts the fuck up about me."

"I told Hayley you were just my friend so she wouldn't get all hostile towards you. I didn't want some girl to ruin your night by being rude, but I ended up ruining it." He explained.

"It's okay." She smiled, grabbing his face. "I forgive you, it's over, and I love you."

"Can I sleep beside you again?" He mumbled into her hair.

"Please."

She groaned. "But, tonight is Danielle's party so after that." She pulled away from him and hung her towel back up before she climbed back into the shower. Sam growled as he closed the door and sat on the counter. He stared off into the distance. He didn't want to go out. He wanted to spend the night in with Audrey, but they had to go for Danielle. He looked over at the shower, seeing the shape of her body.

"Are you going over to Dani's early?" Sam questioned.

"Uh, yeah. I was just gonna shower and then go do my hair and makeup and get dressed at her place." Audrey told him. "Unless you want me to go with you. I can get ready here."

"No, I was just wondering. Don't change your plans for me, baby." He said as he hopped off the counter.

"I'm sure you could come over at the same time a,"

He poked his head through the curtain. "It's fine. I'll see you at the party." He puckered his lips at her.

She leaned forward and kissed him. "Love you."

"Love you too." He grinned before leaving the bathroom.

Audrey finished showering. She went into her room and gathered all the things she planned to bring to Danielle's. She hopped down the stairs with her bag. She frowned when Sam wasn't in the living room or kitchen. She set her back down near the door before she walked down to the basement. She saw his back to her. He was cleaning up all his things he brought down during the week.

"Sammy," She called. He spun around. "I'm leaving now and I just wanted to say bye."

He nodded, walking over to her. "I was just gonna bring my stuff back upstairs." He explained as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I don't know why you ever came down here." She frowned.

"To give you space." He sighed. "I couldn't sleep across the hall from you when I wanted to be beside you."

She smiled then pressed her lips to his. He lifted her as they kissed. They both smiled into it but didn't disconnect their lips. She finally pulled away. She gave him another peck before he set her down. She fixed her clothing.

"Drive safe. It's really windy out." He told her, tucking some hair behind her ear.

"I will. See you in a bit." She kissed him again before she left.

Danielle furrowed her brows when Audrey walked into her house smiling. She hadn't seen a smile on Audrey's face in a week now. Audrey grabbed Danielle's face and kissed her forehead as she walked past her. Danielle just watched in confusion.

"What's wrong with you?" Dani asked, hesitantly.

"Nothing! Everything is perfect." Audrey smiled.

"You and Sam made up, huh?" Dani crossed her arms.

"Yes, we did. We aren't talking about that though because today is your party so it's about you." Audrey stated as she walked up the stairs.

Danielle rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, Audrey." She sighed before following her up the stairs.
