Kaylynn smiled when she opened her front door. Sam was standing there with her usual Starbucks order. A venti, iced green tea latte, with one extra scoop of matcha and a vanilla bean scone. She stepped forward to peck his lips. He just kissed her forehead before walking inside. She didn't think much of it. He sat her drink and scone down on the table. He pulled off the light jacket he was wearing. It was his team jacket. The entire team had navy blue track suits. The girls made fun of them for it.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming over? I would've put on something nicer." She gestured to the bum around clothes she was wearing. "And put on some make up."

He shook his head. "You look fine." He reassured her. "I needed to come over and talk to you."

"Okay." She furrowed her brows as she sat. "About what?"

"Us." He rested his arms on the table, leaning on them.

"What about us?" She asked, picking at her scone.

"We aren't supposed to be together, Kay." He sighed.

"Why do you say that?" She questioned.

"Because your guy is Mack." He stated. "I'm not upset at all. I've just come to the realization that it's always gonna be Mack for you and I'm happy that you have someone like that for you."

"But it's not Mack I'm with right now. It's you." She argued.

"Kaylynn, come on." Sam chuckled. "You and I both know Mack is the person you're supposed to be with. You and I, and everyone around us agree. Mack is just your person."

She just stared at him. She knew he wasn't wrong. Mack was always on her mind. Mack was her first real boyfriend. She had spent a lot of time with him and made a lot of good memories. She let out a long breath before she stood. She wrapped her arms around Sam's waist, resting her head on his chest. He hugged her in return.

"I'm sorry."

For being in love with Mack?" He laughed.

"No," She huffed. "For always bouncing back to you when I wasn't with Mack. It wasn't fair to you."

"Hey, we all make mistakes." He reassured her, stroking her hair. "But now, as your friend, I can be there for you when you argue with Mack and we can explain to him that it's completely platonic between us."

"I don't think he wants me back." She frowned, sitting back in her chair.

"Of course he does." He scoffed. "Mack loves you, Kaylynn."

"We haven't talked in a month." She whined.

"Well, he's working at the arena and back at Fairview so you'll have time to talk to him." Sam smiled.

"Do you think he'll be at Nathan's party?" She chewed on her lip.

"Definitely."

Kaylynn nodded. She'd do it there. She wouldn't drink a drop until she saw Mack. Sam gave her a hug before he took off. He had to get ready for the party too. Kaylynn would be going with Candice and Aaron and whatever friends Aaron was going with. She decided to start getting ready. She needed to look really cute so there was no way Mack would ignore her. That wasn't a problem for her.

Nathan's house was perfect for a party. It was all open concept and he didn't have many things that were breakable. There were a lot of people there. Probably the entire school and then some. Kaylynn stood close to the front door but not right there. She was waiting for Mack. She had been waiting for him for almost two hours. It was nearing midnight and there was no sign of him. A hand clasped around her arm. She turned and saw a concerned Audrey.

"Sam needs to talk to you." She said, gesturing to the youngest Reinhart behind her.

Sam stepped a bit in front of Audrey, leaning down to Kaylynn. "Mack's wasted and just called Griffin. He said he's on his way to come 'kill' SB. I called and he's about a block away." He told her.

growled. She thanked Sam before walking outside. She saw Mack walking down the street. Actually, he was staggering. She walked over to him. He tried to get past her. She held onto his arms. He was mumbling nonsense. She was already frustrated with him.

"Mack, what are you trying to do?" She breathed.

"I'm gonna kill Bennett!" Mack yelled, pointing to Nathan's house. "He took you from me!"

"No, I left you, Mack." She sighed. "Let's get you home."

"You love him now, don't you?" His eyes glossed over. She felt herself choking up. "You love Sam now!" He cried, tears rolling down his face.

"Mack," She tried to get out more.

He sat on the grass. He was crying. Crying over Kaylynn. She sat down next to him. She pulled him into her, hugging him. They were both crying. One was a drunk mess and the other was a sober mess. She rubbed his back as he cried. He sat up, wiping his face. He looked at her. She had cried a bit too. He reached out and wiped her face with his thumbs.

"Do you love Sam?" He whispered.

She shook her head. "No, I never loved him. He was just there and you weren't."

Inside, the rookies we're going through their initiation. Rookies and anyone new to the team. It was rules. Every guy initiating the newbies had been initiated once too. They had to wear lingerie while doing all these ridiculous tasks. The girls found no amusement in it. The new guys were currently chugging mini mickeys on one knee. Next they had to do the keg. Some were doing better than others.

"Shouldn't we initiate Kylee and Dana too?" Aaron grinned.

Kylee glared up at him and threw her drink to the floor. "Number five, Ekblad, I'll kick your ass!" She hollered.

Nathan ran over with an upside down visor on his head. "My rug!" He cried as he dropped to his knees to inspect it.

"Use baking soda and dab, don't rub. That'll come right out." Kylee waved him off.

"What's with the visor?" Dana gestured to Nathan's headgear.

"You ruined my fucking rug!" Nathan shot up, hollering at Kylee. "It's imported! My mom's gonna kick my ass!"

"And I'm gonna kick yours if you don't get out of my face!" Kylee threatened.

"But the visor." Dana interrupted.

"You better fucking clean it, Kylee." Nathan hissed.

"You better fuck off, MacKinnon!" Kylee screamed.

The girls started to pull Kylee away. She was about to attack. She started screaming things at Nathan as she was taken away. He was hollering right back. It was a mess. A bigger mess than what was in the rug. They finally got her outside but Nathan followed.

Do you not understand that you ruined the fucking rug?" Nathan spat.

"I don't fucking care about your rug!" Kylee threw her arms out.

"You disrespected my rug!" He yelled going back inside.

She ran after him. "I'll do it again too!" She spit on the rug and grabbed Nathan's beer out of his hand, dumping it on the ground.

"He's wearing a flipped visor and you're arguing about a fucking rug!" Dana pointed out.

"I will shit on your fucking rug!" Kylee screamed as loud as she possibly could.

That's where Eric stepped in. He lifted her up. She was hanging over his shoulder as he carried her out. He was very intoxicated from his initiation but he wasn't about to have his girlfriend shit on a carpet. She kept yelling as he walked her outside. She finally gave up as he sat her into his car and his driver pulled away.
