"Sammy, please." Audrey pouted at Sam.

Dani wanted to play pong. Her partner was Michael so Audrey thought it would be adorable to have Sam as hers. But Sam wouldn't. He didn't want to drink tonight. He wanted to stay sober so he could watch over Audrey. Not that he was planning on being a buzzkill, he just wanted to have the right state of mind if she needed help at any point.

"I can't, baby. I explained it." He frowned, holding her hands.

She sighed. "Okay, I guess I'll play alone."

"If you're both okay with it, I'll be your partner, Aud. I haven't lost a game in forever." Nathan offered.

Audrey's eyes went up to Sam. She had no idea where Sam stood with Nathan. Sam's eyes were on Nathan. It was just a friendly gesture. Sam sighed and nodded. Audrey smiled before she kissed Sam. She grabbed Nathan's arm and pulled him over to the table. Sam watched from his spot, sipping on his gingerale.

"This is the start to a great friendship." Audrey smiled up at Nathan.

He smiled and nodded. Audrey and Danielle did eye to eye first. They both sunk. Nathan and Michael went next. Michael sunk but Nathan missed. Audrey let out a sigh. Nathan rolled the ball to their end and leaned down to whisper to Audrey. Sam tensed from his spot.

"We get redemption." He reminded her. "And they both suck."

She chuckled and the game began. Sam watched intently. Nathan or Audrey would sink and they would high five. That was fine. They both sunk a cup and that meant balls back. Sam could see Audrey was getting more intoxicated. The balls came back and Nathan hugged Audrey. Sam clenched his jaw. He was pulled away from the view by a hand on his shoulder. It was a clearly wasted Andre. He was pointing at what Sam was watching.

"That's fucked up." He muttered before staggering away.

It was pretty fucked up. Nathan was well aware of how uncomfortable Sam was with him around Audrey. It's like he was testing his limits. He kept watching. Nathan was leaning in to tell Audrey something. She smiled up at him before she went for her cup. Her ball landed in a cup to the side. Michael's hands went to his head. Danielle looked confused.

"What just happened?" She frowned.

"Audrey got the ball in your drink. That's game over." Michael exhaled.

Audrey and Nathan started cheering. Nathan lifted her in a hug. She hugged back with a smile. Her eyes drifted over to Sam's. She gave him a thumbs up. He shook his head, walking away. Audrey frowned. She pushed back from Nathan. He set her to her feet. She excused herself and followed Sam out to the backyard. He was standing with his back to the door. His arms were crossed. She walked over and held his sides. He walked away.

"Sam, what the hell?" She called, following him.

"You know how I feel about him!" He exclaimed. "Especially him around you."

"Yeah, I do. That's why I didn't even look at him when I needed a partner." She growled. "I asked you and you said no, Sam. Forgive me for wanting to play beer pong."

He spun around to say something to her. She was wobbly. She was drunk. He saw her frowning up at him. He let out a long breath before he wrapped his arms around her. She smiled as she hugged back. He didn't know what his problem was. She was drunk and just trying to enjoy her birthday. He kissed her forehead.

"You're right. There was nothing wrong there. I'm just being a baby." He admitted.

"My baby." She teased, pulling away.

"I got you something." He took a deep breath, reaching into his back pocket.

"Sammy, you didn't have to." She cooed as he extended it to her.

"I wanted to. It's my special girl's special day." He smiled.

"Little box, seems like a proposal." She smirked.

"Shut up and open it, Audrey." He shook his head.

She smiled as she took it from him. She slowly opened the little box. A necklace. He bought her a necklace with a little charm with his number. She looked up at him from the box. He was beaming. He put a lot of thought into her gift. She pushed onto her toes and kissed his lips. He smiled into it.

"I love it." She stated, pulling it out of the box. "I love you." She looked up at him.

"I wanted everyone to know whose girl you are." He stated before taking the necklace to put on her.

"Oh, trust me. Everyone already knows." She laughed as he did up the clasps.

"Just wanna make sure."
