Danielle watched as Audrey laughed with some of the people in the group of friends. Sam being one of them. Sam was a fucking asshole. He was so rude to Audrey when he was the one that broke up with her. He was nice sometimes, but most times he wasn't. Dani didn't understand how he claimed to ever love her when he acted like that.

Audrey noticed what Dani noticed, but she ignored it. It had been a couple days since they broke up. She didn't want to make it worse. She had done a great job of pretending not to care. But she did. She was completely heartbroken. If Sam's room wasn't across the hall from hers, she'd probably cry herself to sleep every night.

"Hey, Aud," Sam said, tilting his head away from the group.

She smiled and nodded, walking over to the lockers with him. She leaned against them, smiling up at Sam. He smiled down at her, then looked over to the group. He let out a long breath, brushing his hair out of his face and squeezing his eyes shut. She narrowed her eyes at him. He exhaled again. Something was up.

She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "What, Sam?"

"This is gonna make me sound so bad," He sighed. "But could you maybe take your necklace off so I have time? I just feel like running back to you every time I see it and I need time to reinvent myself."

It took everything in her not to punch him. "Yeah, of course." She gave him a fake smile. She unclasped it and handed it to him. "All yours."

"You can keep it. I gave it to you." He frowned.

"Okay." She nodded, walking back to the group. She leaned close to Dani. "Think of a way to get me out of here now before I break down."

Dani nodded, glancing at Audrey's neck. "Hey, do you have any girl things on you?" She said to Audrey, loud enough for the group to hear.

"Yeah, in my locker." Audrey turned.

"I thought,"

Danielle stopped Michael. "It came early." She gave him a look.

He understood she wasn't being serious. "Oh, sorry." She nodded at him. "See you in a bit." She kissed his cheek before walking with Audrey. "What did he say?"

Audrey was breathing quickly to try to keep in the tears. "He told me to take the necklace off so he could reinvent himself." She laughed.

"That little fucker." Dani hissed.

"I just need to go home." Audrey exhaled, walking out to the parking lot.

She drove home, listening to break up songs at full volume, bawling her eyes out. She ripped her phone off her car charger. She grabbed her bag, smacking it off things. Her keys were tore from the ignition and she stormed to her door. She walked in. Nicole was staring at her in shock. Audrey was panting and her jaw was clenched. Nicole slowly rose.

"Don't." Audrey cried before she ran up the stairs.

She stopped at Sam's door. Mackenzie had drawn a picture of Sam and Audrey and tapped it to his door. It said 'SAM' across it in large letters. Audrey shook her head. She pulled the necklace out of her pocket and whipped it at his door. She rummaged through her room, tossing things everywhere to find anything of his. She'd toss it at his door. One at a time. Until all of him was gone. There was a picture of them frame next to her bed. She threw that at his door and heard it shatter.

"Audrey?" Nicole hollered.

"It's okay." Audrey replied. "Everything's fine."

But nothing was.

Audrey woke up the next morning to a note on her door. It was from Sam. He apologized for all he'd done to her and thanked her for everything. She cried reading it. He started talking about how much he loved her even if he hadn't been acting like it. He promised her he'd make it up to her when he was okay and that he didn't want to lose her. She opened her door and walked over to his room. All his things were gone. Even the picture Mackenzie had made. She ran downstairs.

"Where's Sam?" She asked her mom who was in the middle of dealing with Mackenzie.

"He left." Nicole answered quickly.

"Where'd he go?" Audrey pushed.

"Michael's." Nicole told her.

Audrey called Dani. Danielle was at Michael's in two minutes. But he wouldn't let her in his house. Danielle was ready to fight. Sam and Michael. She had her arms crossed as Michael fed her bullshit.

"What's really going on, Michael?" She spat.

"Okay, Sam invited some girls over and they'll leave if you come in because they're scared of you and all Audrey's friends." He confessed

"Good. I'll fucking end them." She said, trying to push past him.

"Sam really needs some time right now, Dan. You don't know what he's going through." Michael frowned.

Dani shook her head. "Fuck both of you. It doesn't matter what he's going through, he shouldn't be treating the girl he claims to love like shit." She hissed. "And neither should you." She finished, shoving him.

She drove straight to Audrey's after that. Nicole let her in with a frown. Danielle hipped up the stairs two at a time. She knocked on Audrey's door. The door slowly opened and a red eyed, blotchy face Audrey. Danielle just wrapped her arms around her friend. She wasn't looking forward to telling her what Michael had told her.
