Sam watched as Mandy glared at Audrey. They were in the basement, playing NHL 15. Sam was sitting on the couch, yeah, the couch, with Mandy on the other end. Before Audrey sat on the floor to play Griffin, she had been between the two. She was obviously sitting closer to Sam during that time being. Griffin avoid the couch since he was aware of what had happened on it.

They were in overtime. Audrey was playing as the Kings while Griffin was playing as the Islanders. No one had any idea as to why he'd choose the Islanders. Audrey made a move before number twenty three put the puck top shelf. She shot up, throwing her arms in the air.

"There's no way you just beat me with Sam's move as your dad." Griffin said, staring at the TV.

"You did my move?" Sam gasped. She nodded with a smile. "The one I've been trying to teach you for months?"

She nodded again before he wrapped his arms around her thighs, pulling her forward. He kissed her as she wrapped her arms around his neck, controller still in hand. Mandy watched in disgust. She repositioned herself.

"Remember that move I figured out myself on FIFA and you couldn't figure it out?" She chuckled.

Sam smiled, nodding. Audrey sat on his lap, continuing to argue with Griffin. Sam kept his arms around her waist. She reached forward and kicked Griffin. He turned around and smacked her foot. Sam kicked him for her.

"Do you ever play FIFA?" Mandy asked Audrey.

She shook her head. "She won't." Sam spoke, rolling his eyes. "She doesn't like soccer."

"That's kinda unfair." Mandy pursed her lips.

Audrey shrugged. "He won't watch basketball games with me, so I guess it's fair." She argued.

Mandy let out a noise. Audrey exhaled sharply. She got the vibe that Mandy wasn't too fond of her. She avoided mentioning it to Sam. She didn't want him to get mad, and she figured she was just being dramatic.

Sam noticed. Mandy was completely sour towards Audrey. He didn't understand why. He and Mandy broke up nearly two years ago. There wasn't reason for her to be how she was. Sam frowned at Mandy, who was once again, glaring at Audrey.

"Rematch?" Griffin challenged Audrey. She shrugged.

"No." Mandy cut in. "Let Sam and I play."

Griffin handed his remote to Mandy while Audrey gave hers to Sam. Mandy took Griffin's place on the floor. Audrey climbed off of Sam's lap, laying with her head against his thigh. His arm rested on her forehead as he played.

Mandy whined halfway through the first. "Sammy, can you show me the buttons?"

Griffin rolled his eyes. "Left knob is the move, right is to shoot or deke. You're on your own for the rest, Mands."

"It's not called a knob." Sam argued.

"Like any girl cares enough to know the name of it like us." Griffin shook his head.

She frowned, turning around to look at Sam. "Please help me."

"Why would I do that?" Sam laughed. "This is an advantage for me."

She huffed, her eyes trailing down to Audrey's. She glared before she turned around. Audrey's brows furrowed at the back of Mandy's head, before Audrey looked up at Sam. She looked over to Griffin next, who clearly noticed, since he was giving Mandy a look. His eyes shifted to Audrey. She just rolled her eyes.

Sam won. By a lot. Mandy tried to be all cute afterwards and give him a congratulatory hug but Sam just made fun of her. She sat at the end of the couch. Audrey curled her legs up so she wasn't even near touching Mandy. Mandy stared at the small amount of skin that was showing on Audrey's ankle.

"Your tan is so nice." Mandy declared.

"Uh, thank you." Audrey gave her a smile, unsure of the sincerity behind the compliment.

"It must have been really hard getting that tan in your dad's shadow." Mandy spat, meeting Audrey's eyes.

"Mandy!" Sam hissed.

Audrey chuckled a bit, sitting up. "I'm gonna call it a night." She said, placing both of her hands on Sam's thigh.

"You're not staying over?" He frowned.

"I need one night in my big bed by myself." She smirked before she kissed him. "I'll see you soon."

Audrey stood and walked upstairs by herself. As she slid into her shoes, she heard someone coming up the stairs. She instantly assumed Mandy was coming to finish her off. Audrey took a deep breath and turned to face the door. She reached for the handle, twisting it.

"Hey!" Sam's soft voice called.

Audrey turned around with her brows furrowed. "Why aren't you downstairs murking people?" She joked.

"Because I was coming to check on you. You don't have to let Mandy talk to you like that." He said as he walked over. "Yeah, she's a family friend but you're my girlfriend. She needs to respect you." He told her, grabbing her face.

"Sam, it's fine." She sighed, pulling his hands away. "Just go back downstairs to Mandy."

With that, she turned and walked out the door. She got down the pathway and onto the sidewalk before the door closed, and Sam was chasing behind her in shoes too big for him. She rolled her eyes and continued to walk. He caught up, grabbing her shoulders to stop her.

"There is no where I would rather be than with you." His voice was stern. Audrey frowned a bit. "Audrey, you terrify me." She furrowed his brows at the comment. "You scare me because I feel comfortable telling you things I can't even tell myself."

"Sam, what are you talking about?" She exhaled.

"I don't know! I don't even know what I'm saying around you because I just want to tell you everything! What I'm feeling, what I'm thinking, everything. I just want you to know all about me." He explained.

She rolled her eyes with a smile. "You're such a dork." She laughed before pushing up on her toes to kiss him. "But seriously, go back to your house because Mandy scares me and I know she scares Griff."

"I will after I walk you home. It's late." He told her, grabbing her hand.

"Sam, it's eight thirty." She snorted.

"Sh." He smiled before he kissed her cheek.

The next morning, Audrey woke up to a text from Sam asking her to come over. It was from ten minutes prior to her waking up, so she assumed he would be up. She showered and got ready before she walked over. She didn't bother knocking, that place was like her second home. She walked straight into the kitchen, assuming Sam would be there. But he wasn't

"Uh, hi?" Mandy snapped.

Audrey nodded, grabbing a Gatorade out of the fridge. She chugged half of it back while Mandy watched. She had a bowl of cereal in front of her. Sam's favourite kind. Audrey knew Mandy was gonna get an earful when Sam came down. Audrey wasn't even allowed to eat Sam's cereal.

"Where's Sam?" Audrey spoke carefully.

"Sammy went back to sleep." Mandy shrugged.

Audrey clenched her jaw. Sammy. "That's weird. He just texted me to come over." She laughed, trying to lighten the mood as she raided the fridge once again.

"You know, it must've been nice." Mandy hissed.

"Pardon?"

"You know, being spoiled rotten and all." Mandy continued. Audrey turned to look at her. "It must've been so nice to get everything you've ever wanted. I sure wish my daddy was rich. I'd be daddy's little girl too."

Audrey closed the fridge, turning fully to face her. "I am grateful for everything my parents have given me through the years. Don't, for a second, think that I'm some rotten kid that pouts and stomps her foot whenever I'm not given what I ask." Audrey growled.

"But you still admit that you've gotten everything you've ever wanted." Mandy snickered

"All I've ever wanted since I was five years old was a group of friends that I didn't have to move away from every year. A group of friends I didn't only see for three months in the summer. All I wanted was a stable relationship, and I never had that until I came here. Until I met Sam." Audrey explained.

"What about Brendan?" Mandy cocked a brow, her tone had bite to it.

"Brendan and I were dating for a month before I moved here." She told her.

"You fucked him a month in?" Mandy scowled.

"We had been talking for nearly five when he finally asked me out, Mandy. Don't try to make me look bad here." Audrey laughed, shaking her head.

"Sam was the only stable fucking thing I had in my life and you had to ruin that! You had to show up and throw yourself at him!" Mandy screamed.

"Honestly, please just give it up." Audrey sighed. "He broke up with you almost two years ago. Two years before he knew me. It's done."

"It isn't for me! You have no idea how I still feel about him!" Mandy yelped.

"It doesn't matter though, because he's with me now." Audrey sang.

She walked past Mandy, while Mandy continued to bitch. Audrey just climbed the stairs with Mandy yapping in her ear the entire way up. Audrey stopped at Sam's door, knocking. Mandy shoved her into it. Audrey spun around, taking a deep breath.

"What the fuck?" Sam said, opening the door slowly. "What is going on?"

"Audrey ruined everything!" Mandy sobbed as tears ran down her cheeks. "She ruined us, Sam!"

"No, she didn't. We just grew apart, Mands. You need to understand that." Sam spoke calmly. "Attacking Audrey isn't going to change the fact that we broke up. I'm with her now. It's time to move on."

"I can't!" Mandy screeched.

"Mandy, it is done! We're done! It's always going to be because I'm with Audrey now!" He raised his voice.

She shook her head. "I hate you, Sam." She hissed before she walked into her room for her visit and slammed the door shut.

Sam sent Audrey into his room as Griffin and his parents came out of theirs. He closed his bedroom door while he explained what happened to them. When he came back into his room, Audrey was on the edge of his bed with her arms crossed. He walked over, leaning down to kiss her. She turned her head.

"You didn't have to do that." She sighed. "I was doing fine."

"I know I didn't have to, I wanted to." He said, sitting down beside her. "I'll always defend you, Auds."

"Why did you tell her so much about me?" She frowned, looking into Sam's eyes. "She brought up Brendan."

"I didn't tell her anything, baby." Sam breathed, wrapping his arms around her. "Mandy is great at finding things out. She probably just looked on your Facebook and Twitter and whatnot."

Audrey shook her head as she hugged Sam back. "She's fucked."

"I know." He laughed.

"She ate your cereal." She mentioned.

He jolted back. "Are you fucking kidding me?" Audrey shook her head. "She touched my cereal and thinks she hates me? Just wait."

Audrey rolled her eyes, shoving Sam. He fell backwards off his bed. She gasped and leaned forward. He was laughing with his eyes closed. She smiled at him.

"Do you hate me now?" She teased.

He opened his eyes, shaking his head. "Never."
