One-Shots (2014-2015 Season)

Val’s Stalker

The phone rang again. It was the same number and most likely the same person. Val didn’t answer it, he was slightly scared. But he finally gave in and did. He had to let the person know not to call him anymore.

“Hello?” he snapped a response rather harshly.

There was silence, except for heavy female breathing on the other end. It was a woman named Valerie Ivaneskov. She had been calling him for a month now, on and off. At first, she acted cool and like a friend, but now...she was calling him so much and wanting to talk to him and she’d even begun to ask him if he could go out with her.

It was creepy. And stalker-ish.

“Hi, Valeri, what are you doing?” she finally asked.

“Nothing. Leave me alone! I no want talk to you. I no like you. Stop call me.” He made to hang up, starting to lift the phone away from his ear, but he found that he couldn’t.

“But I’m in love with you, sweetie. You’re the best, most talented Russian hockey player in the world. And you’re so fine on looks. Each day I think about you and in the eve, I dream about you. You’re like my obsession, my everything. I love you Valeri Nichushkin and I’d like you to do the same.”

“No. Stop call me. I hang up. You call again, I report you.” He finally pressed the ‘end call’ dot on the screen of his phone and hung up. He put the phone on the counter and walked away. But it went off again.

He ignored it. He had to call Zvezda, his best friend and his “girlfriend.” She was his savior, assigned to save him and protect him from evil. Sure, she’d once been the savior and heroine for the Captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews. But he had gotten superpowers of his own and he was known simply as “Captain Blackhawk”, the savior and protector and hero of Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks. Zvezda was born quickly after, vowing to be that of the Dallas Stars and namely Val. When she wasn’t in hero mode, she was just Evelyn O’Reilly, a gorgeous red-haired mortal woman.

But Val needed Zvezda not Evelyn. And all it took was one distress-filled scream and she’d show up.

As the phone finished ringing, Val pondered his options and chose to toss his head back and screamed. “ZVEZDA, POMOGI MNE!! (Звезда, помоги мне!! AKA: Star, help me!!)”

Sure enough, in the blink of an eye, there she was. She had on her glorious Dallas Stars colored green dress and the angelic look. She came over to him and grabbed him by the shoulders. He stopped screaming and looked at her.

“Val, why are you screaming for help?”

“Stalker.”

“Stalker?”

“Phone keep ringing and creepy woman on other end,” Val replied, looking to the phone.

“Your phone keeps ringing and there’s a creepy woman stalker on the other end?”

He nodded his head, vigorously up and down.

“Well, it’s not ringing now…”

Just then, it went off, ringing loudly again. Val screamed and ducked behind his heroine. She looked at the phone and then back at him. He looked genuinely scared.

“Alright, I’ll see what I can do.” She walked over, grabbed the cell phone and answered the call. She heard the breathing and then the woman speaking. Her angel wings flapped behind her and a whirlwind of air swirled around her, as she became infuriated.

“Just speak to me, Valeri darling,” the woman’s softly aroused voice said into the phone.

“Leave him alone or so help me, I’ll come hunt you down and make you! How’s that, dearie?” Evelyn snarled.

“Who are you? Where’s Val? Did I--?”

“No, you called the right number. This is Zvezda and you NEVER pick on Valeri Nichushkin, don’t call him, don’t hit on him, don’t even think about him! You hear me woman?”

“What’s your problem bitch?”

“You! Don’t call this number again or I swear I will come after you! I’m not joking! Good bye!” She jammed her finger on the dot and hung up.

Val came over to her. She passed him his phone. The air stopped swirling around her, as she relaxed and let off the steam from her fury.

“You holler again if that bitch calls you anymore.”

“Okay.”

“Thanks, sweetie.” She stepped forward toward him and grabbed his head in her hands. She gave him a quick kiss on the lips and then flickered away, leaving him to be alone.

He smiled to himself and then returned to his activities, much more eager and happy. And thankfully his cell phone didn’t go off anymore with calls from the woman. Turns out she must have been scared of Evelyn. He made it through the rest of the day and got to the Dallas Arena. He joined with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin and had a four point night!

Notes

Okay, so this branches off from Flight, which hasn't been finished completely yet, but I figured that you don't need the ending of Flight to really understand this. It's pretty self explanatory.
I got this idea actually on the shuttle heading to my class at UCF (I was thinking about this movie I watched in a Film class called “Fatal Attraction”). I have one question for you, reader, if you got ahold of your favorite hockey player’s number, what would you do with it? Would you call and pester the player or would you just have it to have it or would you do more…?

Comments

These will run until the start of next season. So I'm thinking until the week before Pre-Season in September. I might get something from a dream or on Tumblr or from the Blackhawks Convention... ;)

Sorry about all the updates, all of them are stories which were already on here in my collection, but they were stand-alone one-shots and I thought it'd be better to move them to this collection. Thanks! :)

OMG, this is great! Thanks for taking on my request! :D But you went back to third person for a moment here: "She throws her hands out and a glowing red energy engulfs him. He screams out, but vanishes into thin air."
Other than that, I love it! :D Thanks again! ;) Hahahaaa, yes, Bacon! :)
