Prove Me Wrong.

'Kieran's POV'

The next morning Jamie and I loaded up my Jeep for our roadtrip to College Station. We planned to spend the day touring the Texas A&M campus and the town I had spent so much time in, I wanted Jamie to see Aggie life. The roadtrip was 3 hours, with the windows rolled down music playing I enjoyed the time I had with Jamie. It was suddenly hitting me hard that I wasn’t going to see him for a very long time. Part of me wished he could come to Ireland with me, but his family in Canada was looking forward to having him home for the summer. When we arrived in College Station we checked into our hotel, Lauren and Cody were also staying there but were not arriving until later. My parents and Tyler would be driving down tomorrow morning for the ceremony that begins at 1 pm.

When we were all checked in we headed to our room, Jamie flopped down on the bed "10 minutes babe, then we're going to see campus!" He groaned as I unzipped my dress bag, pulling out a red dress and graduation gown with my honors drapes. I stared at it for a bit, it was weird thinking that this was finally it! The last time I had to wear an ugly black robe and a stupid hat, even though mine was pretty cute on the top, Lauren and I had spent a lot of time decorating our caps. The top of mine read "98 problems but 2 degrees ain't one" in glittery letters. I thought it was clever, since I will have a bachelors in Biology and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Jamie just thought it was silly.

Jamie rolled onto his stomach staring at me as I hung up the robe and dress, "What's that sash thing for?" he asked as I walked back over. I sat down on the bed putting his head in my lap, dragging my fingers through his soft hair "It means that I'm graduating with honors, Magna Cum Laude." His dark eyes looked up at me, a smile curled on his lips "You're way too smart for me." I laughed, "I balance us out, I'm overly educated and well... at least you graduated high school babe." I said trying to hold in a laugh while patting his head. He lifted his head up, "Nice save, smart ass." I laughed as he climbed out of the bed pulling me up with him. "Come on Doc, you gotta show me what I missed out on in college."

'Jamie's POV'

Kieran drove the short distance from the hotel to Texas A&M's campus, this place was beautiful it was no wonder she was obsessed with it. She parked her Jeep in the student parking lot and quickly slid out the door, throwing her arms up in the air "It feels good to be back!" she exclaimed a huge grin plastered on her face. I took the keys tossing them in my pockets as we began walking around the large campus.

She stopped and pointed up to the sky so I looked up noting a huge water tower, "Welcome to Aggieland, babe!" They put the university name on everything down here in the south, "Wow, I thought Aggieland was just a good name for your closet." She scowled, "Haha, like you don’t have 3 thousand Stars shirts." We continued walking, she showed me the dorms she lived in, the buildings she had class in, we even made our way down Frat row where we had to stop so she could pay homage to her old sorority house. Southern girls and their sororities, she would always be a Delta Zeta.

As we walked I learned all about the traditions of A&M, from the dog to the ring and everything in between. Kieran was a die-hard A&M fan, it was in her blood after all her mom went there and her grandfather, she was what the university called a legacy. At the football field she sang a song that made me laugh, she told me stories about something called the "First Yell" about watching her brother play on that field but never mentioned Ryan.

She had fond memories all over the school's campus, memories she wouldn’t let him ruin. By the end of the "Kieran Tour" I was pretty in love with the school too, I could see coming here to watch the Alumni football game with Kieran or maybe one day having our kids go here. Texas A&M was a great place with a welcoming atmosphere, as Kieran had explained Aggies are very welcoming greeting each other with the customary "Howdy". No matter how dorky the sayings were Kieran loved them and she had me saying them too, I posted a picture of the two of us with the statue of Reveille saying:

"Checking out Texas A&M today! @IrishKierBomb is graduating tomorrow! Congrats babe! #AggieUp #GigEmAggies"

Hockey was to me as college and her education in general was to Kieran, it was the main focus of our lives. Since she was a kid she knew she wanted to be a vet and she had followed that dream all the way through. It had been a long, hard road but she had persevered and now here she was on the eve of finally being Dr. Kieran O'Reilly, and I was proud to be by her side. In fact tomorrow I plan on proving to her that I plan to be by her side for the rest of our lives.
