The Ice Prince and The Snow Queen

The Chicago Scene - Full Run-Through

Kala left the Blackhawks practice. It had been good to speak with the two superstars and set things right. The three exchanged numbers. And Patrick Kane was completely okay with leasing Jonathan Toews to her for a few days. They really were perfect for each other. But Kala wanted a shot at the Blackhawk captain. She had spent the night fantasizing about him, after all.

She made it to the set, to find Dimitri bickering - as always - with Dublin. If Jonathan Toews was going to be coming to the set, she’d have to make sure Dublin didn’t tear him apart. Patrick Kane made take a slapshot right to the villain’s skull and nothing good was coming out of any of that.

She walked onto the set and headed directly for the makeup room and rapidly went through her pre-rehearsal dress. This was the actual full run-through today. And then they’d break a few days and then actually film the scenes and be done with Chicago.

When she was done getting dressed, she made certain that everything was in place. Her long red hair flooded over her shoulders. Around her neck, she wore a ruby red gem necklace and she had a gold, white and red warrior princess costume on. One her shoulders she had gemmed plates attached to her red sleeves. Streamers flew from her back, like ribbons. In her hands, she held a medieval sword. She smiled at her look.

“Showtime,” she whispered to herself.

She walked out of the dress room and to the set. There was a restaurant-style set up. A table outside and Dimitri sat in one of the chairs. Dublin was no where in sight. Dimitri looked up and spotted her in her get up and gave a whistling catcall. Kala rolled her eyes.

Dimitri got up from his chair. He was wearing a simple mortal outfit: a loose-fitting white shirt and jean pants. This was similar to his look before, as it made sense that he couldn’t change being kidnapped and held hostage. “Damn girl, you can sure pull off that outfit!”

“You saw it before, Dimitri.”

“Not all of it…”

“You may wanna back up, Dimitri.” Kala warmed up her arms, swinging the sword around a little bit. All the weeks of “warrior” training were coming back to her and she was thankful for them. She loved doing the fight choreo. It was always tons of fun as an actor.

“Quiet on the set, places Kayley and Johnny,” the director’s voice boomed out.

Dimitri took his place, standing by the table as Johnny and smiled, as Kala became Kayley and sheathed the sword.

“ACTION!!”

Kayley walked toward the table as Johnny pulled out the chair for her. She sat down and he returned to his chair. “So...Chicago? What’s Chicago known for?”

“The Blackhawks for one.”

“I meant food,” Kayley remarked with a slight giggle.

“Oh, well, there’s hot dogs...Chicago hot dogs.”

“Chicago hot dogs?” Kayley cocked her head.

The cameras moved around, spotting them with different shots, before moving to the next spot. Kayley picked the menu up. “You know what, nevermind, I’ll just look at the menu and decide.” She looked it over. Johnny joined her, doing the same.

After a few seconds, he threw the menu down on the table and stood up. “When you first showed up here in Chicago, I thought I was going mad. But then you opened my eyes and I think you’re really pretty...and, uh…” He looked around the restaurant’s outdoor setting and nervously smiled, before sitting back down. “I love you, Kayley.”

Kayley put the menu down and leaned forward. I love you too, Johnny. You’re perfect and everything that I could ever ask for in a man. You’re talented and wise...and such a good leader!”

“Stand by wind and Dublin effects,” the director whispered.

Johnny smiled at her.

“And cue effects.” Johnny leaned over the table toward her for a kiss, when suddenly the wind whipped around them and the lights flickered to the restaurant and the street. Johnny pulled back and they turned to look to the side of them. The cameras rushed to their place; the two main actors unfazed by the chaos.

The extras at the restaurant panicked and ran inside or ran for safety elsewhere. Soon only Johnny and Kayley remained.

“It’s Dublin! He’s found me! He’s trying to take away my happiness...and everything that I love!” Kayley screamed over the roar of the wind.

Johnny and Kayley were on their feet at once, squinting against the howling wind. It finally stopped and a wicked looking man stood in a black cloak and hood. His face was painted like the Sith from Star Wars with red and black facepaint. He stepped forward, with a staff-like scepter in his hand.

“Kayley!” he boomed.

“Johnny, get behind me! Now!” Kayley screamed, whipping out her sword.

“I can fight--” Johnny started to protest.

“Behind me! NOW!!” Kayley demanded.

Johnny scampered behind her. She raised the sword up.

“You think you can stop me from getting to Johnny, there?” Dublin growled. He swung his scepter at her. She blocked it with her sword.

“I don’t think, I know. Back off Dublin, you’ll never get to Johnny!”

“We’ll see about that!” Dublin snarled. He kicked at Kayley, who dodged the move. She shoved Dublin back and then swung the sword at him. Dublin blocked her blow with his scepter and made the scepter glow a bright red. A beam of concentrated energy shot out at her and she flew backward into the exterior brick wall of the building and then crashed to the ground. Her sword clattered to the side of her.

She remained on the ground, unmoving for a beat, before she lifted upward, moaning. She hadn’t exactly been prepared for the magical scepter.

“KAYLEY!” Johnny shouted. Dublin seized him, before he could run or turn to fight or do anything really, and instantly bound his wrists together behind his back. “Kayley, help me! Please!!”

Kayley pushed herself up and snatched her sword, just as Dublin wrapped a bandana around Johnny’s head, covering his mouth. Johnny shook and struggled but he was thrown over the villain’s shoulder. Kayley got to her feet and charged forward.

“Let him go! You’re not taking him!!” She swung her sword at the villain but Dublin vanished into the thin air in a light cloud of smoke. Kayley’s sword sliced through the late afternoon air, striking nothing. “No!” She gasped and looked around her, fearfully. “JOHNNY!!”

Kayley dropped her sword in fright and backed up. “Johnny…”

“And...CUT!!” the director yelled.

Kala was still breathing hard from the experience and it took her some time to calm down. But that was just what actors like her did. And she was one of the best, she really got into the character and the emotions. Eventually she stepped forward and grabbed her sword up. “Where’s Johnny...er Dimitri?”

One of the cameramen directed her to look to the edge of the set. Dublin had an arm casually draped around Dimitri, who was still bound and gagged and annoyed.

“Looking for this cutie?” Dublin teased.

Dimitri moaned and muffled something at the villain. Kala stomped over, sighing and rolling her eyes. Great, the villainous Dublin was terrorizing Dimitri again. She shoved Dublin back and snatched Dimitri, leading him away from the snickering bad guy. She sat him in his chair and untied the rope around his wrists and tossed it to the side. Then she removed the bandana, tossing it to where the ropes were.

Dimitri rubbed his wrists. “I can’t do this anymore with that guy!! He always has pick on me and act like such a villain! He’s supposed to instantly release me from the bonds, but does he? No, he has to make sure that I stay good and helpless!”

“It’s why he is the best. He does make a great villain, Dimitri.”

Dimitri rolled his eyes and looked to the director. “Is the bandana necessary?? If Dublin’s gonna be the villain...I won’t be able to breathe until Kala gets me!”

“It’s necessary and staying. It’s for dramatic emphasis!” the director snapped back.

“The hell it is! Gagging someone is not dramatic emphasis, it’s a fetish!” Dimitri shouted. “And I don’t like it!”

Kala smacked him across the face and then grabbed him by the chin and forced him to look at her directly. “Dimitri, settle down, any actor knows that they are perfectly safe, especially in “bondage” situations.”

“Not when its bondage plus Dublin as the villain!”

“Yeah, I get your point there, but don’t worry, he won’t be able to make it far without me finding him and the camerapeople know to keep an eye on him. I can always confide in them. You’re perfectly safe with me around.” Kala combed his hair with her hand, sweetly. He slowly relaxed and leaned back into the chair. “On a different note, has anyone told you how similar you look to the Blackhawk captain?”

“Jonathan Toews?” Dimitri questioned, raising an eyebrow at the young redhead.

Kala chuckled and then sarcastically remarked, “No, Patrick Kane.”

“Ha-ha. Very funny. But no, I hadn’t noticed it.”

“Well, you have his eyes and his...facial features...it’s just interesting, that’s all.”

“Huh, that is interesting. Let’s get out of here though. I take it we are done with the full run-through of this scene. I don’t exactly want to get kidnapped again. The director already had Dublin kidnap me like a good ten times earlier, when you were out...wherever you were. He was trying out different methods and that was the one he landed on.” Dimitri rolled his eyes again.

“Hey, I think you getting tied up, gagged and kidnapped is pretty hot.”

“Whoa, Kala.” Dimitri jerked back, eyeing her. “Come on now…”

“It is. Now, why don’t you say that we go out for dinner together, but as friends and totally platonic. And maybe, I’ll tell you about meeting the Blackhawks at practice!?” Kala stated.

Dimitri sighed. “Alright. As long as I don’t have to see that boneheaded villain for the rest of the night.”

“Where do you want to go, Dimi?”

“How about...let’s see here...how about, Olive Garden?”

“Okay, we’ll go to Olive Garden and I’ll tell you about Kazer!”

“Kazer?”

“I’ll tell you at the restaurant, Dimi baby, but let me change first. You should too. I don’t know if wearing that around food is a good idea...unless of course you have another twin shirt and pants?” Kala looked at Dimitri, who faked a laugh and shook his head, ‘no.’ “Thought so…”

The two actors hurried to the dress rooms and quickly slipped out of their costumes and into something more normal and restaurant-y. Then they hopped in the car and drove to the nearest Olive Garden, which happened to be ten minutes from the set and the hotel.

Notes

Whoa! It's been a while sense I've updated anything on here. And It'll be more time....unfortunately after this, cause I'm gonna try to finish this story off and then stick it up. I've just been so busy with school ending and then having to look for a job...all that. But here you all go.
I apologize for not updating this though. But I haven't forgotten it. ;)
