It was just after midnight when Tyler and I decided to call it a night. I grabbed my bag off the couch next to me as Tyler took my hand in his and lead me to his room, Marshall and Cash on are heals. It wasn’t until we reach his room the realization of all this hit me.
“What’s up Brit,” Tyler questioned as we stepped over the threshold of his bedroom and I froze as I realized I had my contact case and contact clearer, as well as my glasses, but that still left me a couple things short and that was just enough reason not to stay.
“I need to go home so I can get my things?” I could feel my anxiety picking up, this is why I didn’t do things spontaneity, because it would panic especially when it found something wrong.
“What things?” He questioned, one dark eyebrow raised as I looked up at him.
I could feel my heart rate calm down a little as I looked into Tyler’s brown eyes. “Well my Pajamas…”
He cut me off with a shake of his head, “I have something you can borrow.”
“Okay,” I nodded with a deep breath, “well I’ll also need my toothbrush…”
Once again he cut me off, “I have a toothbrush.”
“Ewe,” I shook my head, “I’m not using your toothbrush.”
“You kiss me.” He introjected, “same difference.”
“No,” I shook my head again, “you kiss me after you brush your teeth, or at least I hope you do.” I cringed, not wanting to think about that, I could keep my thoughts at bay as long as I pretended he did, “which means all the gunk from your mouth is on your toothbrush.”
“I guess you have a point,” he rolled his eyes, “but I wasn’t offering to share a toothbrush, I have extras, so you can have one.”
“Only one,” I questioned.
“Yes,” a smile tugged at his cheeks as he leaned in and planted a soft kiss on my lips, “only one.”
I took a deep breath as he pulled away, a smile still plastered on his face.
“Shall we?”
I nodded, my voice stuck in my throat.
His smile softened, obviously noticing my nervousness, he wrapped his arm around my waist as he pulled me into his side. “I promise I don’t bite, but I can’t speak for those two.” He pointed at the two dogs that were laying on the floor at the foot of his bed.
“Yea, well it’s not them or the biting that I’m worried about.”
“Well you don’t have to worry about me biting, or anything else. I’m not going to ruin your first night here by trying anything you’re not comfortable with.” He reassured me with a kiss before he detached himself from me. “I’ll be right back.”
I nodded as Tyler’s hand pulled away from mine and I let it drop to my side, it wasn’t until he disappeared through a doorway just past the bathroom that my body relax. With a deep breath I leaned on the edge of the bed as my eyes studied the light brown walls, and the dark brown bedspread as my feet dug into the soft carpet that covered the floor.
“You can get dressed in there,” Tyler’s voice broke my out of my trance. I slowly lifted my head as Tyler walked out of the bathroom doorway, cloths draped over one arm, and a toothbrush in hand.
“Thanks Ty,” I pushed myself up on my tippy toes as I placed a kiss on his cheek before I took the cloths and toothbrush from his arms. With a smile I pulled away and pushed past him to the bathroom.

I leaned over Tyler’s bathroom sink, my heart pounding in my chest as I tried to focus on something other than the fact that I about to spend the night at Tyler’s house.
When I first walked into the bathroom I was so distracted by how organized it was that I didn’t notice just how big it was. So that it was I chose to focus on, instead of the voice in my head telling me this was a bad idea because my anxiety didn’t believe that Tyler wasn’t going to try anything, no matter how many times he’s promised. With a deep breath I looked in the mirror noticing first how big the room was, bigger than my bedroom back at my apartment, and this was only the bathroom part, I didn’t venture into the closet area, but I assumed it was just as big.
I sighed once my heart rate seemed to calm down. With another deep breath I grabbed my bag off the counter next to me and slung it over my shoulder.
Tyler was propped up on his side facing the bathroom door as he scrolled through his phone, but as I pushed the door open his head snapped up. A huge smile spread across his face as he laid his phone down on the night stand behind him next to the bed and studied me.
I could feel my heart rate pick up once again as I walked towards the bed, laid my bag against the nightstand and let my hair out of the hair tie that confided it. “What,” I questioned as Tyler’s lips pulled up at the corners.
“You just look so…” he trailed off as his eyes studied me.
“So what Tyler,” I asked, needing to know his answer.
“Relaxed,” he shrugged.
“Well I definitely don’t feel relaxed.”
A short laugh escaped his lips as he picked at a loose thread on his bed spread. “Okay then,” he lifted his head to look at me once again, “you look comfortable. Is that better?”
I shrugged, not able to deny it, but I quickly remembered that all I had on were the green shorts and the black tank top that he gave me. “You just had to find the clothes that would show the most skin didn’t you?”
“Don’t worry Brit, you look hot.”
I blushed, “I’m going to bed Tyler, not a club.”
“Then get over here?” Tyler smirked as he pulled back the covers from the side of the bed next to him.
I took a deep breath before I slowly crawled in the bed next to him and he draped the blanket around my shoulder and slid his arm down so it rested around my waist. He pulled me closer to him, so my back rested against his chest.
“Goodnight Brit,” he gave me one last squeeze around my waist and a kiss on my temple before he rested his on top of mine.
With a deep breath I slipped my glasses off my face and laid them on the night stand next to the bed. “Night Tyler,” I whispered, his soft breaths filling the room.
